I bought this at Sephora on a trip to purchase Make up Forever Smokey Lash but it was sold out. A girl convinced me to try this, while hesitant I REALLY like this mascara. It has one of the big rubber brushes, which I sometimes don't like but this is really unique. It adds volume and definitiion/length and really minimizes the clumps without making the lashes look too thin. It isn't too expensive either, I will def rebuy this product.
I bought this because the sales associate recommended it for volume. I tried it once and it was very wet. I have extremely long lashes and I could not flutter them at all while this dried. It got all over my eyebrows!!
I gave it a second chance and same thing, it was a huge mess all over my face!
I went back that same day and returned it! Never again!
Love love love.
I have sparse, thin eyelashes..This has been able to give my lashes volume, and length...something that most mascaras cannot (even when the mascara says otherwise).
Typically I use a volumizing and a lengthening mascara together to get the desired lash but am able to use this alone with the same outcome.
I will leave this review short and sweet, because I have nothing bad to say about it, and only good.
LOVE!
HG Mascara. Does exactly what i want it to. I have straight lashes, that are average length but you'd never see it til i put mascara on. I curl and use this and they look perfect. The curl holds, the colour pay-off is great, super black, perfect plastic brush (LOVE) and i find -- for me at least -- its buildable enough to get a more dramatic look without getting goopy, messy, spider eyes.
You do have to watch that you don't touch your eyes a lot or you will end up with problems. I have learned not to touch in general b/c i'm oily, so if i touch, i will have no makeup left anywhere on my face by end of day!
After 12 hours it does start to fade, but for my delicate lashes, this is by far better then using a waterproof that i can't scrub off, resulting in huge lash loss (like empty spots, seriously). Haven't had issues with lash loss since i started using this brand.
As far as price, it is expensive for mascara, but it lasts a lot longer then the drugstore goop. I found i was spending more on DS simply b/c i was replacing it more often, so this was more cost-effective for me.
EDIT TO ADD: So as it turns out, I have been diagnosed celiac, and apparently topical gluten was making my hair and eyelashes fall out at a far more rapid pace. Apparently this is one of the g-free safe mascaras, which explains why I had so much luck with it before diagnosis. So, celiac ladies, this is one to try!
This mascara is probably meant for people who already have full, thick eyelashes because it really does nothing for mine! I have short, thin, sparse asian eyelashes. My mascara that I always use is the Benefit Badgal mascara or Lash Blast. I decided to try this mascara because I heard from a lot of reviews that it was great quality. It is the worst mascara ever! So so so expensive. And SUCKS. Seriously doesn't even look like you're wearing mascara after. It doesn't clump your lashes, but it gives NO volume. And doesn't hold a curl WHATSOEVER. It makes your eyelashes stick straight out. Even if you curl them, they just look so unnatural. I'm so sad I spent so much money on this.

First of all, I have long but thin lashes that are also somewhat straight (not pointing straight down but not curly) & tangled for some reason. After trying three mascaras prior to this,Diorshow Blackout, Dior Iconic and Lancome Hypnose I kind of gave up on finding some thing that didn't clump, smudge and made my lashes look great.
So I was at Sephora and i started looking at their mascara bar and saw this, at first I was a little aghh about buying this because I've never boughten any thing from B.E. and the packaging wasn't all that great, but I went for it. I AM SOO SOO HAPPY, this mascara gives me very defined, seperated, long, moderatley thick lashes and it does not clump or smudge. & what i really love most about this mascara is that I can apply AFTER I curl my lashes and my curl will not 'droop' which would always frustrate me before with other mascaras. Overall I love it and i will def. repurchase(: continued >>

After failing at a couple of mascaras (Maybelline define-a-lash, Estee Lauder regular something or other....yes, both of those sucked) my friend gave me this one because it didnt work well for her. (she has very thick, straight eyelashes). my eyelashes are very curved, and very thin an flexible (i guess that means that most mascaras curl the very well). they are long, but completely translucent at the tips. this mascara made my lashes amazing long an full.(i like very long fluttery lashes that aren't crazily thick). this mascara gve me these exact results. the formulas is glossy, and super b;ack, which makes everything stand out more. the tons and tons of bristles on the brush separate my lashes like no other mascara has. it kept an amazing curl, and made them very fluttery. this mascara is great, but if you like volume, i would stear clear because this doesnt work grat for that. overall an amazing product
This is only my first try at wearing Buxom, but so far I'm pretty impressed.
It's that rich, intense, blacker-than-black color I love, and it goes on smoothly, with NO clumping. I didn't use my lash comb today, like I usually do, but my lashes still look nicely separated and defined.
As others have mentioned, Buxom lends a pretty fan-like effect to lashes, and lengthens well, but doesn't impart a lot of volume.
I'm not wearing my usual lash primer under Buxom; that may make a difference.
I'll update when I wear it "for real."
UPDATE: Okay, now I see what the other reviewers were talking about when they complained that Buxom imparts no volume. Even with a good primer (Urban Decay's Primer Potion for Lashes) underneath, I get very little volume. This is still a good mascara; it lengthens well, wears well, and holds a curl. However, I prefer MAC's Zoomlash to this, and Zoomlash costs less. I doubt I'll repurchase Buxom.

It lengthens, defines, lifts (to a certain extent), but does not thicken. That is unfortunate because I really like dramatic lashes and this doesn't exactly deliver those results. Other than that, it's fantastic.
EDIT: Still absolutely loving this mascara. Good tip - Take the wand out & wait a little bit before applying (15 seconds or so) & no clumps. This trick works on all mascaras I've tried but especially well with this one.
Fab, fab, fab. My sister and & I are bonafide mascara junkies & this one is our fav so far. It's about $10 cheaper than BadGal Lash & Diorshow (our previous favs) and it is less flake prone than either of them. I've even applied to bottom lashes and it stays put for quite a while. Wonderful length, volume & deep color. Wand & formula makes it very easy to control how much va-voom you get so it's great for day and night. Terrific deep black color, blends my lashes perfectly with false lashes. We will be stuck on this favorite for quite a while!!! continued >>
