This smells wonderful initially, but after awhile (on me), it's just okay. It ends up smelling just like Kate Spade on me, and I used to have Kate Spade but got extremely sick of that sweet, candy-like scent after the florals died down. I'm a firm believer that every scent differs on who is wearing
UPDATE 9-12-04: I can not STAND this fragrance anymore. I feel nauseated around it.
This perfume just smells beautiful. It's classic and floral and makes you feel elegant when you wear it. I use it as my summer perfume and then I have Michael Kors as my winter fragrance. I get lots of compliments on both!
Adore this, and not just because my name is MJ. I wear his signature scent exclusively in the summer months -- something about this just screams June to me, for some reason. I recommend the parfum over the EDP because it lasts longer and smells more pure; a mini bottle, which you can get easily on eBay, will last all season, if not longer.

My signature scent. Even though it's not the "trendiest" fragrance, its so classy and ladylike and I love it.
If you guys want a sexy fragrance that smells a bit like Beyond Paradise but 1 million times better, try this "wet" version...it's so soft, like acquatic blossoms or something! It smells very expensive and non-generic, too! I also recommend Ralph Lauren Blue (which smells a bit similar)...pure tropical islands in a bottle!

I love MJ and learned I can't be w/out it! The little bit of musk mixed w/gardenia is perfect on me and it lasts all day w/out being overpowering.EDIT- ok got sick of this really quick and once I had it I noticed it on so many others! I have 5 sample sprays of this and this is going to last me forever. It can be very overpowering if not used lightly!
I find this too sharp and sweet. Similar to Michael Kors, a tiny bit less cloying than Michael Kors, but still no cigar. Marc Jacobs Essence is a tiny bit more palatable.
UPDATE 4/19/04:
I have recently compared Essence and Marc Jacobs EDP. I actually like the original Marc Jacobs just as much! On drydown it softens but still retains its scent, which is important. Essence fades away too fast.
