This is one of the best looking self tanners out there!!! I'm very pale...Nichole Kidman pale and this stuff gives me a great colour!!! I prefer the gelee to the lotion, it's easier to apply evenly. One thing...it doesn't dry as fast as I would like and I wouldn't put it on my face because it feels like Johnson and Johnson Baby oil in the new gel formulation!!!! So putting it on your face probably isn't a good idea. ALSO...I bought a few bottles last summer and I have one left, I just looked at it and it's changed from a gel to a liquid...funny. I prefer Life Brand self-tan towelettes. For you Canadians (like me) you can get them at Shoppers Drug Mart. SECRET....they are the exact same thing as "TanTowel" it even has the tantowel symbol on the back!!!!! Plus they are $8.00 to $10.00 cheaper!!! DEAL!!

This review is for the lotion for face and body in medium. I use this on my face once in a while but I avoid it whenever my skin seems irritated or on the brink of breakouts; it's not the most gentle st ever. Still, the color is even, subtle, and usually can be used without causing breakouts.

I'm a big fan of the lotion. It does take a bit of effort to apply (exfoliating, lots of cetaphil cream on knees and other dry spots), but no other self-tanner I've tried gives me such a natural, streak-free fake tan. It does smell a little like dry dogfood the next day, but not enough to make me stop using it. I've found that the best way to avoid streaks is to use a lot of lotion at once, so that it is very easy to spread. Since I don't want to get too dark, I mix the self-tanner with regular lotion in my hand before applying.

Wow. This stuff SUCKS. I used to spray version of Sublime. On the bottle this says "Streak-free." Ummmmm ok, "streak-free" my arse! I used this before I went to bed, and when I woke up in the morning, I was so pissed! I looked like I had rugby stripes all over my legs! Not to mention, I had hideos dark orange palms. Never buy this cursed product! Ill stick with Neutrogena Build-a-Tan, which is somewhat reasonable. Such a dissapointment!

This is a very good product for the money. I am a Malignant Melanoma survivor (so far, anyway) and need to stay out of the sun. Wanting some colour on my pale skin, I have tried many other brands. Sublime Bronze is great for me, producing a pretty beleivable tan. You do have to exfoliate and apply moisturizer to "thick" areas (ie. knees, elbows) but this comes with any self-tanner. The only con I have is drying time- it does take about 30 minutes to completely dry. You will get some staining from the bronzer if you dress too quickly. So, I just wear older clothes around the house until dry. The "tan" is not affected. Have been using this for 2 years!

I have olive toned skin that looks really washed out and sallow when I don't have a nice tan going, so I tried this last spring. Everyone thought I'd just come back from holiday, it was great. Easy to apply, no streaks, great colour, the only con is the horrible smell. I mean it smells ok in the bottle, like most self-tanners, but once it starts to "develop" on your skin it turns into that unmistakeable chemical/wet dog type smell so I took off a lippie for that, but I think that's the case with 99% of tanners. Apart from the smell issue, it's the only self tanner I've tried that hasn't streaked or deposited awkward splotches of colour on my elbows/ankles/knees. Thumbs up. I think I'll try the gelee next, it seems like it would be refreshing on the skin in the summer.

I haven't used this product for a long time, but so far it has turned out great. Even though I have really pale skin, the light to medium version looked natural. The lotion also smells great. However, I have two complaints. First, it takes a long time to show up after you apply the lotion - I put lotion on in the evening and it didn't show up until the next morning! Also- it fades easily in the shower. But overall, I would recommend this product!

This stuff is terrible. It was recommended to me by a friend who loves it but just uses it for her face. I tried using it just on my legs - I exfoliated, moisturized, followed all the directions, applied "sparingly" around the knees. Yet somehow, I still ended up with one knee that has a white circle around it (apparently I didn't put enough) and the other knee is brown/spotty/muddy looking. The color is a little orangey - it looks alright in the shade and indoors, but as soon as you get in the sun, it isn't dark enough and the splotchiness is more visible. I would give this stuff away to someone, but it probably isn't worth the cost of the postage! I'm going back to the first self tanner I tried - a Lancome flash bronzer for legs - that one is dark enough that you can see what you're doing, colors immediately (not 8 hours later so you can see if you missed a spot) and didn't leave any splotchiness.

Good grief, this is the WORST tanner ever!!! I have the lotion/cream version and you have to be really really careful when applying this, otherwise you'll get streaks and spotty patches galore! And i mean not touching anything at all for at least an hour and half (not wearing any clothes either) and who has this much time to waste?! Especially since on the packaging it says you can get dressed within 5 minutes for the cream to dry, well it takes a hell longer than that! When you apply the product, it smells a little bit, but within a 1/2 hour, my god, i smelled like a major chemistry experiment gone horribly wrong, that is the smell is INTENSE!!! Also, i shave and exfoliate my legs prior to tanning myself, and i've notice that the tanner goes INTO my pores, so wherever i shaved, the hair follicles become orange and i have all these tiny dots on my legs! Truly disgusting! I also noticed that after a day, i got a terrible itchy red rash, i couldn't help but scrath my legs which made the results look even worse! The color developped is ok, a lil orange, but bearable. I guess 'what you pay is what you get', cuz i bot Lancôme`s Flash bronzer which is almost 3X more expensive than L`Oréal`s, but i must say that Lancôme`s exceeds l`oreal`s in all aspects and is a great self-tanner. So for those who want a truly amazing tan, go buy lancôme`s or Dior`s, and save yourself some $$$ and energy from buying l`Oréal`s!
