... And on the 8th Day God created Almost powder makeup. Great packaging, great coverage. I am super fair and most powders dont match me but the 01 Fair matches me like a dream. It does not break me out and everything breaks me out. Looking at my face to hard will break me out, but not this! I love it. If only I could find a foundation that I could be excited about. Excuse me while I go make babies with this product.
This stuff is perfect for me. I got this because i wanted the gift with purchase (hehehehe!) And i needed something like this and the sales person talked me into it. How glad i am she did. It -does- cover minor skin colorations and such but pretty much leaves your skin looking natural and smooth. I love the way it feels: like nothing! It is not drying like powder, has more coverage, and lasts almost all day. I just put a touch (just a tiny bit is all that is needed!) on the sponger and work its way all over. Dont use too much or you can see it is powder. And dont use over foundation or it will look super makeupish. But if your skin is already pretty nice and you just need a little oomph try this.
I love this stuff! I never wore foundation before on a regular basis because I hate the way it feels on my face, but I started wearing this last year and it's great. I use the songe to apply it to places that need concealing and then use a big powder brush to apply it to the rest of my face. It evens out my skintone and just makes everything look smoother. I'm not going for heavy coverage, so this is just what I need.
I do find that it makes me look too pale so I follow up with a Clinique highlighter, and then my skin looks healthy.
OK, I've got to be honest. I didn't eve BUY this product. After reading reviews here, I thought it might be great. I've been using Jane Iredale pressed mineral powder for about a year and half now, and thought I might try try this given the price difference. I like the soft shimmer I get from Iredale, and thought this might be a good substitute. Boy, was I ever wrong! After having the salesperson put just a bit on my chin area, I could tell this was going to be pretty cakey compared to Iredale. So, no takers from me on this. It's really too bad most of the major cosmetic companies can't come up with a good pressed foundation that is fragrance free and doesn't make us older gals look like we're wearing a mask. Maybe on to Colorescience for me.
Hey Kiddies :]
I'm just letting you guys know a little bit more about Cliniquie's Almost Powder Makeup.
I first found out about this powder over the summer of 2008. My best friend had this, and she called it her "Holy Grail Powder". I hadn't used any Clinique products before this, and I was a bit hesitant to try this, because it was extreamly high priced. Each compact costs $22.50 at Sephora. I have to say that this is definatly a "Go To" foundation for the summer if you don't want any major coverage. Luckly, I have very, very good skin, so I don't need a full coverage powder every day. Its very sheer, which is why will look darker in the compact than it actually is on your face.
It's definatly worth the price and I would buy this again.
The only itsy-bitsy complaint I have is that It looks a extreamly powdery on skin. [i.e. powder gets caught on the small hairs on your cheeks, forhead, and chin, and makes it very noticeable]
Aside from that, this is FerSure a product I would go back to :]
Thanks for reading
It's alright...but just alright. This isn't a miracle and it leaves a crazy film over skin. Personally, I don't like it and it is most certainly not worth the money. Don't waste the money.
I bought this product after reading a lot of good reviews on it on makeupalley. But I'm actually really disappointed, because I can barely see the difference on my face when I'm wearing the product and not wearing anything.
I live in Europe, and here they sell it with it with a brush instead of a sponge, which I actually think it's better. Because the quality on the small brush is actually pretty ok, and it's better than a sponge I think. You can totally use the brush that comes with the product, instead of caring around an extra brush. I hate the green box to the product though!! At first glance it actually looks very cheap in my opinion, but it's the product that count I guess. Unfortunately I'm not that satisfied with the product either. It's winter time where I live, so I have normal skin with some areas that are a bit drier than others. I don't have acne or that much to hide really, except there are some barely visible veins on my cheeks that you see more clearly in winter time, because of the cold. The product doesn't even manage to cover the small and almost invisible veins, so spending about 36 dollars on this (it's more expensive here in Norway) was a waste really!
There are some pros though, the powder has SPF 15 and it doesn't block my pores or cause breakouts or anything like that. But please if anyone else though that the product covered well, e-mail me with how you applied it on your face :)
I really like this foundation! I bought this about three weeks ago and no problems like breakouts, clogged pores or itching so far.
I have really fair skin and finding a color that's right for me isn't that easy, even products that are marketed for light skin are often to orange of just to dark. 01 fair is absolutely perfect for my skintone. The powder feels really light, not like a powder at all and it makes my skin look absolutely flawless.
I uploaded a picture of the product as it is here in the Netherlands, with a brush instead of a sponge, which in my opinion is a much better choice.
Will definitely repurchase.
I've been using this for about two weeks and I LOVE it. Much more natural coverage than Bare Minerals, and much longer lasting. It's also easier to carry around than loose powder (which gets all over the place). The reason this gets 4 lippies instead of 5 is because the sponge applicator is a bit useless. I use the kabuki brush that came with my Bare Minerals set, and it goes on flawlessly. I also use the concealer brush to cover small zits or scars, and that works well too. The only time I use the sponge applicator is on the go for touchups, but it'd be great if Clinique packaged a brush with this instead.
I don't know how I feel about this. I think I'm torn on the product. It covers BEAUTIFULLY. MONSTER zits, redness, you name it: if you put this over it, it will be covered. It doesn't look like powder (true to the name) when it's on and doesn't seep into my big pores as most powders too.It never makes my skin dry or tight. I wish I could give it a five, but I think it might make me break out. I can't be positive of this though, as my skin has gotten progressively worse while I was using this powder but I also believe that my antibiotic cream is wearing off. I have since switched to BE that I used before when I had clearer skin, and if there is no difference in breakouts with the BE I will know that my skin is not breaking out because of the CLinique and will be using it again. I really hope it's not the Clinique because it's an amazing powder. It has much better coverage than BE and feels so natural. Will update.
EDIT/UPDATE: This powder DID NOT make me break out. It's just that my skin has been weird lately, maybe hormonal. But this product isn't at fault and it's wonderful. A++
