This was an average product - it didn't clear up my skin, reduce oil or noticeably prevent any breakouts, but it didn't irritate my skin either. I also don't like the flip-top bottle - the hard plastic they use means the product is difficult to squeeze out.
I have used this product for years, it has cleared up my skin fairly well, although not completely. When cleansing my face I use Dove moisturizing bar first, then this Body Shop face wash, and I follow up with a moisturizer. It has worked fairly well for me, so I'll keep using it until I find something I prefer.
Edit~I stopped using this product for a while, and I switched to Johnson and Johnson head to toe baby wash. When I went back to using the Body Shop- tea tree oil face wash, it felt like it was burning. So I would not repurchase this item
I'm not too sure about this product, first week I used it my skin was alright, less oily and everything but after that I started getting sooo many pimples on certain parts on my face. At first I thought it was my new foundation but when I stopped that the pimples continued, and only on the right side of my face! Finally gave up and went back to the Aloe Foaming wash. The pimples started fading away. Weird! This is supposed to reduce pimples! My sis complained that it made her face more oily.
I bought the Tea Tree starter kit from The Body Shop back in mid-November & still have about 30% left of the tiny face wash bottle. I wash my face twice a day w/it & truly feel like it has cleared my face up.
As others have mentioned, it does take a lot of water to wash it off, but I don't mind the prolonged length of having to remove it. The cap is actually very difficult to open, I often have to use a towel or paper towel to help me open it (hence the rating of a 3 for packaging quality).
I have noticed that my T-zone is still oily as before, so I'm indifferent to the kit actually helping me out in THAT area, although I now breakout less &the actual tea tree oil combined w/the facial wash is sure enough to kill any starting pimples I've had.
I do plan on purchasing the facial wash again.
I love that this face wash is fairly gentle, and I use it after removing my make up with cold cream. I am not sure if it does anything to prevent acne or treat existing blemishes, but I like using this as a basic facial wash twice a day.
I love this stuff!!! It saved my skin, I only breakout on my forehead so I went in to the body shop and the SA suggested this and my skin looks so much better, I use the whole range toner, day and night cream, blotting paper and weekly scrub
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. If you are that person who has tried nearly everything but have never really wanted to venture into expensive brands and are STILL searching for something TRY this. They have a Tea Tree set starter kit that has the face wash, toner, a lotion that helps keep skin matte, tea tree oil (straight), and blotting papers.
I have skin that is generally too oily, but isn't REALLY oily and sometimes it will dry out on the chin area. I don't have terrible acne but my skin is far from perfect and this product (with the rest of the line) has given me the results I want. It started when my skin was going totally wonky on me and I was desperate so I decided to try the more organic route. Best idea I've ever had.
This face wash only needs a small dime size amount, rub it between your hands until it foams (a nice, thick cleansing foam) and rub it on a damp face for about 60 seconds. Rinse it off, pat dry (blah blah). It takes all of my makeup off every time and leaves your skin feeling wonderful.
Also, for how much you get the price is wonderful!
I bought this while I had a lot acne. It is a overall ok face wash. I would actually like to give it 3.5 instead of 3, but not good enough for 4. It cleans ok but take a lot of water to wash it off. And then, the thing i dislike most, leave a kind of film on the face. Sometimes I can feel that there are things (oil maybe?) under the film if I do not do scrub for a while. Would not buy again.
This face wash makes my skin feel dry and tight afterwards, and it may have given me a pimple or two but I can't prove it. My sister gave me this since she loves it, but I don't have a problem with acne so I think it was overkill for me. At least, I didn't have any major negative effects, but I don't need to buy again since it's for acne prone skin.
Awful smell and colour. Dried my skin out but worse still I got an allergic reaction which left my skin red and sore for a few days. (I can use tea tree oil on its own with no problem.)
Have gone off Body Shop now they are very expensive and the ingredients lists are scary.
