Been using this for a couple days now and so far I really like the way it covers and stays. However, there is a few negatives towards this concealer.. It dries too fast, and the applicator brush is hardly useful.
AWESOME PRODUCT!!! amazing for undereye circles, and i have severe acne scarring ( i mean severe, no joke), and it covers them up but i do need quite a bit because it is so discolored, however, it lasts a very long time. Dries very fast so be careful but the coverage is incredible and I love that it is so long wearing because i have oily skin and it is pretty warm out these days :) the superstay foundation is amazing as well!!
(Currently I am nw25ish, revlon photoready in 004 nude, and maybelline superstay in nude and the concealer light matches me nicely)
I like this as a concealer in itself... The color is a great match. It doesn't cake under my eyes but rather really brightens them and makes me look totally awake. I really like the consistency and the coverage is great. Lasting power is good for me, too. (Use a light finishing powder!) The downside? Made me break out. Stubborn whiteheads around my nose and mouth..... Gross!
After breaking out from higher end concealers (Clinique Advanced and Mac Studio Finish), I went on a quest for a long wearing, oil-free concealer. The Maybelline 24 hour worked out the best. It is great for covering red spots and discoloration. It usually starts to fade on my red spots by afternoon, but it seems to last all day when just applied to discoloration. I do have pretty oily skin, so I never expect anything to stay put all day. Oh, and it has never broken me out (big plus). For the face, this concealer is great. For undereyes, it is the last thing I would use- way too drying.
It's very drying for undereyes.... it cakes a bit b/c its so pigmented. Though it's drying, it disappears into my skin after a few hours. Not really a "super stay" in my experience. I like to use it as an eyeshadow primer instead because the color doesn't match my skintone. Color selection is quite poor.
Up until finding this concealer my HG was MUFE Full Cover concealer. Being that it was $30 I decided to find a cheaper alternative. I'm such a makeup snob when it comes to products for my face so I was very skeptical about trying any drugstore concealers. When I saw reviews for this I figured it was worth a try. OMG!!! BEST CONCEALER EVER!!! I needed to cover up acne and dark spots left from acne and this covers flawlessly. Despite the small size, it lasted me for 4 months. It is very blendable and buildable without getting cakey under foundation. I'm not too fond of the lipgloss style applicator but I just use my fingers to apply it though a concealer brush would work well too. There aren't too many choices in shade but I found that the shade cream worked perfect for my yellow toned, almost olive skin.
I actually really do like this concealer. I purchased it after hearing rave reviews on YT about how it covers really well and lasts for a long time. I'm a concealer girl and I've tried a few different concealers both high and low-end and I must say that I always keep coming back to this. As of right now, I use the Maybelline Mineral Power in Sand on days where I don't need too much coverage, Laura Mercier's Secret Concealer in #2 when I need a little more coverage than the Mineral Power's but not full coverage, and the 24hr SuperStay in Cream when I need major major coverage. It's true, the concealer does dry rather quickly. I apply two dots of the concealer under one eye at a time, and then i quickly but lightly tap to distribute the product. After, I'll just gently tap to blend the product into my skin and viola! Dark undereye circles gone. I can understand why people say that the formula might be a little bit drying, so I recommend to moisturize well (and allow it to sink in). BTW, I have sensitive, dry-combo skin. Sometimes, the concealer does sink into my fine lines, but what I'll do is just lightly tap to smooth out my undereye area and it'll stay creaseless for the entire day. I do not use powder to set as I find that that makes my undereye look cakey and/or flaky/dry.
My biggest caveat is that the color selection is extremely poor! I think they have less than 6 different shades. I am an NC25-NC30 with a yellow undertone (I'm asian) and I bought the shade in "Cream". The next shade up is too pink and the shade after that is too dark (even though it has a more golden/yellow undertone). I just got the cream because at least I can lightly dust bronzer over it or something.
Oh yeah, I want to also mention that I hated the concealer when I first used it. It really emphasized the dryness around my eyes but after I exfoliate and do a good job at hydrating my eye area, it's one of my favorite concealers. I apply using my ring finger. A little goes quite a long way and I feel that this is the kind of product where you would want to go layer by layer for maximum opacity rather than applying a big glob and then trying to blend that into the skin. Hope this helps! =D
I have been searching for a more price efficient concealer to replace my bare minerals in bisque and I saw this one at a drug store and thought, hmmm, maybe....
Its awful!! It only comes in a few different and I picked the shade that best matched me, it was too light but the only other option would have been way too dark! I tried to make it work with my skin tone only to find that it wore off in a matter of an hour!
I tried all different ways of how to apply this concealer just to work, I used good concealer brushes, my fingers, etc. still it looks horrible, It's my match color it just looks horrible on me, I don't have any fine lines around my eyes but this concealer makes me look I have one, I tried putting some mineral makeup, foundation, good primer but still looks eewww! it stay long I actually had a hard time removing this concealer, that's why I still give it a 2 rating even I want 0!!
With the title like..."Super Stay 24 Hour Concealer".. How could you go wrong with that right? WRONG This is one of the worst concealers I've tried! I will say my eyes do get dry in the winter, and this product is very dry, it wont stay on, it cakey and sets into my fine lines.. Trust me I have try everything!... moisterizer.. primer.. mixing with other concealers... Nothing works..I wanted to gives this a big ZERO but im giving it a two because they do have the color i need( if it would work) And it might work for some one who has oily skin.
