Tastes just like a lemon meringue! it really does make my lips a very vibrant pink..sometimes i have to tone it down by applying a light film of foundation over my lips before using this.
An absolute pleasure to use, and keeps my kissers full and soft. I'm completely gutted i lost this on a wild night up town..but there's one lesson i've learned - don't take expensive things with you when you're going to get very drunk!
Generally liked the product. It gave my lips a subtle pink, natural glow without being too obvious. I thought it was a nice alternative to wearing lipstick.
If you want something that brings out a pink natural lip, this is it. I use LaMer lip balm ant night and right after I wash my face in the morning, this stays in purse and I use it when Clingue's Black Honey lip balm is a little too red.
I only have two lip colors, this and the Clinque Black Honey - and they are always in my purse, so the price is not prohibitive to me.
Update: This doesn't pass the smell test after several months.
I love the color this makes my lips when used on its own. It's a pretty sheer med. pink that works with my skin tones. I also like the way it doesn't just sit on top of my lips, but enhances their texture..so soft and moist appearing. The price seems way too high IMO, but I'm getting another one to carry in my purse..it's that awesome.
Bougt it at the duty free as a product to give my lips a colour boost without wearing lipstick or a very greasy gloss. it works really well for that and it feels nice to wear too. Ideal to get a good colour boost so your lips are noticeable but donīt look made up.. REbought it 3 times soo far
I bought this when it first came out and am extremely pleased with it and it is always in my bag. The color is not too strong on me but more a hint of color. I love to use it most when I am out and about and don't have time to reapply lipstick properly - I can just quickly swipe this over my lips (no mirror needed) and it just lifts out the color of whatever lipstick I was wearing - not the same as reapplying your l/stick of course but enough to brighten it up and get you through until you can do that. Great also for vacations as it seems to go with anything and doesn't need any fuss. Took one lippie off simply because of the price - it really doesn't justify the price tag but yes I will buy it again and again.
I just got this today, ordered from Sephora. I treated myself as a bday present and told myself I'd use it everyday and walk around holding it so I could admire its beautiful packaging. It comes in a beautiful box and it's nice and weighty, it feels nice.
On me, it turned a little brighter on my top lip and I couldn't see it at all on the bottom. Still, I could barely see it on my top lip. That didn't bother me, but the deal breaker is the formula. This goes on very light and doesn't feel like you're wearing anything. I've maybe used lip conditioners with a similar formula. It's more like a lotion for the lips, not what I really think of as a balm. I'm sure it's moisturizing but I like thicker formulations.
Tried it again and it was brighter, a GORGEOUS youthful pink. Not artificial looking, just natural rosy pink. I heaped some Bobbi Brown Crystal gloss over it and I like it. I'm wondering I'll keep it since it's so unpredictable.
I bought this without trying it on first and after the first application I was so disappointed. It turned my lips a fuschia pink. I tried wiping it off and there was no color on the tissue, just clear balm - I don't know how that works exactly. I put it away and then tried it again a few days later and it was the perfect medium, natural pink on me - Like I just have naturally rosy lips. It looks very natural since it isn't super glossy. It also makes my teeth look really white. Packaging is a bit much (and I'm sure it adds to the overall cost) but it has the advantage of being easy to find in my purse. The huge con for this is the ridiculous price. I mean seriously, who pays $28 for a lip balm? Oh wait....
I wanted to love this product but I guess its better that I don't since cost is one of the factors being at a ridiculous $28. I don't think its worth to have an addiction to this. Also the color that went with my body chemistry is not a color I would agree with being a bit too florescent hot pink or fuschia. Too bright for my comfort zone. I thought it maybe a baby pink but only if I line my lips all over and then balm but then again why would I need to line my lips to get the baby pink color, so not worth it. Also the color of the balm slid easly outside of my lips not good. I am not going for a Clown in the Circus look. The only thing I did like about this was the packaging. Dior always has impressive packaging. I returned my balm to Sephora already ( great return policy and to try products out) so I don't remember what the scent was but I know that it did smell and taste nice, still not a reason to keep. So I think I will stick with NARS Sabrina for now.
This is pretty much the same concept as O-Gloss and similar products that have been coming out for the last couple of years: clear on application, with body heat/chemistry turns into "your own customized version" of pink.
I do like the concept of this balm and similar products, but in the past I have had issues with similar glossy versions becase they tend to be super sticky and glosses generally do not work for me because I have long hair that always gets stuck on my gloss. So, when Dior came out I decided to try their version.
So far, I like theirs the best, but it's not perfect. Here are my thoughts in terms of pros and cons:
1) Format - For me a PRO. I do prefer lip balm format over lip glosses, this one in particular is nice and hydrating, not sticky or waxy.
2) Colour - this is both a PRO and a CON depending on what colour you accomplish that day. I find there are days I get a lot more intense, almost "fuschia" colour on my lips and then there are days when there is ABSOLUTELY no colour on them! Not sure how this is possible, but because of these extremes and unpredictability, I am taking one lippy off. When I do get that in-between colour, it is very pretty, most natural of all "clear-turned-pink" colours out there.
3) Longevity - irrespective of what their packaging says, the tint doesn't stay on the full day. When your balm comes off it stays on maybe another hour, but that's about it, unless you apply another coat. I don't think this is really a huge CON, at least not for me, but just be realistic about the staying power on your lips and don't trust Dior's advertising.
4) Cost - Yes, I agree, this is expensive for a lip balm ($35 CAD), shouldve been at least $10 less. So, that's a big CON, given you have to reapply often during the day so I can't see this lasting a long time.
Overall, nice product, not perfect, but probably one of the better ones in this category in the market.
