I used this during my pregnancy and it worked great. I have acne to begin with and adding those pregnancy hormones made it worse. This didn't completely clear it up but it helped tremendously. I would use again as an alternative to acne products w/ chemicals if I had another baby.

I am a little in favor of the TBS tea tree line. I gave this face wash a try when it was on sale for $8. If you are looking for something that really dries out, this might be something for you. I won't suggest to use it on daily bases, though, since it really dries out my skin, way too much. It's way too dry for me after I used it few days in a roll and it burns a little. I use it occasionally, especially after work when my face become more oily than usual. It really clear it up fast. Dispite of that, it's still way too drying for me and I probably won't repurchase anymore.

This is my In Case of Emergency cleanser. If I use this on a daily basis it dries up my skin almost to the point of cracking (and I'm a super-oily t-zone kinda gal). However, sometimes my retinoid treatment just isn't enough to fight humidity and pollution in the summer, and that's when I pull in ol' Tea Tree. It's grime's worst enemy, and within a week of using this, my skin clears up quite a bit. I wouldn't recommend this for people with cystic acne, but it's great for the rest of us acne-prone people.

I bought this some time in October 2007 and also the entire Body Shop Tea Tree range when I got cystic acne out of the blue. No history of acne ever and suddenly Miss pizza face. This is what you would call an average face wash. Nothing great - does not irritate your face and has a good enough smell of tea tree oil. Will not remove your make-up completely, unless you wash your face twice or even thrice. The only positive thing about this product is that you are comforted with the thought that its a Body Shop product and is not tested on animals and has its hand in fair trading. It did nothing for my cystic acne and I binned the entire range a few months back.

Although this didn't make my acne-prone skin oily, it dried it out and really irritated it. I broke out badly (hard red nodules on my chin) after using it. I returned it.
Teenagers: If you have normal skin (the occasional pimple etc), this is probably a good product. However, even if you only have mild-moderate acne (which I what I have), this is not a good idea!

I've been using this product for 3 years and I've never had any problems with it. It clears the oil from the face in the summer and it doesn't dry out my skin no matter what the season. Having said that, I am not acne-prone, so it is difficult for me to judge this product's effectiveness in this area. It does a great job of keeping my face clear in the summer (the period when I normally break out), but I'm not sure if it could get rid of pre-existing acne. I love the smell and it keeps me feeling fresh! I would purchase again, as I have been doing so faithfully for the past few years. I prefer the gel over the foam, the gel appears to clean better and it lasts WAY longer.

This bottle goes forever. The scent is fresh and it does get rid of oil easily but not overdry my skin.

This is my face wash for the winter. I have acne prone skin and this product cleans without drying. It does not cleanse well enough for summer, so I only use it during winter months.

I don't think that there is enough tea tree oil or other disinfectant to provide help with blemishes, but it is a nice cleanser and certainly does no harm.

If you find that this product is not cleansing enough, try Kiss My Face, shower gel (peaceful patchouli). This is my summer facial cleanser - even though it is a shower gel it is the best I have found and cleans really well w/o drying.

The only thing I like about this product is the scent, and most people don’t like the scent of tea tree oil. It did absolutely nothing for my skin whatsoever. I will NOT be buying this again.

*edit*
im stuck using this as i seem to react badly to most cleansers still searching for HG for my cystic and hormonal acne.please give recommendations as im very desperate

the product is simple and efficient. along with the mattifying moisturiser the acne did get in control for a few weeks and i had a nice glow.although now its pretty much useless and doesnt control the oil/blemishes. it also gets used up easily.its good buy, ok product but wont be buying again.
