Somehow this is super thick, yet not moisturizing. The sheen is really obvious on my skin..i just look like a greaseball. I prefer NARS brightening serum.
After reading so many good reviews of this product, I went out and got one from a CCO. I have to say that I'm pretty disappointed by this. It made me look really oily instead of glowing and it literally melted off my face in the heat. Even though it looks terrible on my face, it actually looks really good as a body lotion. I mix a little Pink Opal pigment from MAC with this and spread it on my arms and legs and it leaves a nice shimmery sheen, so it's not all bad :)
A product I look forward to applying daily -- it's just so fun to see how it transforms your skin. At first, I was applying this all over my face and learned that with such an oily T-zone, that's not going to work out very well. I then began applying only on cheekbones, brow bones and jawline. The only reason this did not get a 5 is because it doesn't really seem to last through the day for me. It just kind of seeps into my skin and disappears during the next few hours after applying, but according to other reviews, it seems to have staying power that depends on skin type or something like that.

This cream is pretty thick, so I was expecting it to be very moisturizing. My face ended up way too shiny and actually accentuated the flaky areas of my face.
I had been contemplating buying this product for awhile, because of mixed reviews, and I'm so so glad I did! I finally found the product to give me the light glow I was looking for! Everything else I had tried gave me too much glitter, or shimmer, or glow.. or too little. But, the Strobe Cream gave me just the right amount =] I can use it as a moisturizer, or put it on after moisturizer for a primer (which allows my bare minerals foundation go on smoother than ever), or I can mix it with a light liquid foundation, for a really pretty glow. It also looks great on my skin, when I go out, I now put it all over! I love everything about this product (besides the price), definately my new HG, and I'll definately be buying again.

I mix this (50/50) with my foundation -( vincent longo) for special occasions - then use the mac skunk brush to apply. Great over philosophys the present. Perfect, clear and lit from within. And this combo can last all night should you need it too =)
In general, I prefer liquid or cream highlighters over powder ones. My technique: I blend a small dot of my higlighting cream/liquid to the tops of my cheekbones and down the line of my nose AFTER concealer/TM and BEFORE loose powder. This does not diminish the highlighter effect, but buffs it out and I get a beautiful (but not obvious) sheen. For those who find liquid or cream highlighters to look greasy, it's probably b/c they apply too much, and apply it over blush/bronzer/etc. This technique ensure that the product gives that much sought after "glow" or "dewy look" without the greasiness.
I first encountered MAC Strobe Cream as a generous extra from a swap, and at first was unsure how to use it. I checked reviews and most said to use it *over* makeup but I much prefer SC's effects when applied using the technique described above. That being said, Strobe Cream has officially replaced my other favorite highlighter, Origins Halo Effect (the pink version), and when I found Strobe Cream at my CCO for $22, it took all of one second to decide to buy a fullsize tube! For one, I prefer the tube of Strobe Cream over the Halo Effect's glass bottle, and the Halo Effect has a tendency to separate in the bottle, and when applied, Halo Effect takes forever to set. Also, I think Strobe Cream works as kind of makeshift primer, b/c my makeup lasts longer as well. I have combo skin and have not experienced any breakouts or irritation.
As for how it looks: Strobe Cream is colorless so it will go with any skintone, which makes it perfect to go with any colors as well. It doesn't have chunks of glitter or frosty shimmer, but very, very fine shimmer particles that reflect light beautifully but does not look obvious. Also, only a very small dab is needed- I'd say about the size of a grain of rice for each cheekbone, if that- so this tube will last me a very long time, which justifies the price. To contour my cheekbones, I love pairing SC on top of my cheekbones and matte bronzer or blush on and *slightly* below my cheekbones. (Be sure to blend and follow your face's own contours, or else this will not look natural or pretty but two stripes of light and dark color on your cheeks!) IMO, Strobe Cream goes with any type of look: natural, sexy, going out, etc. and b/c the shimmer is very subtle, it could probably work with a more professional look as well. (P.S. Love Strobe under foundation. Just a dab on cheeks, chin and jawline and I'm good to glow. Also makes for a nice brow highlighter AND for evenings put a little on your chest AND even smooth the tiniest bit through your hair for a bit of shine. It's a super versatile product plus the tube lasts and lasts.

This stuff is soo overrated. i bought it and with went all crusty around the opening - Revlon skinlights is a much much better highlighter than this and soo much cheaper. will not buy again.
