I have been reading so many good things about this foundation, I had to give it another chance in combo/oily formula. I also use the whipped version, which I love – but was very tempted by the idea that this will fight my oilies all day.

First – I am fair NW20 MAC. Everything I ready said to get Natural Beige, so I tried that first. Well in the bottle it looks like it will match, but on my face it was too dark and didn’t match my neck. Maybe in the summer this will work when I get a little color. Next I got Buff and so far this looks great. I have a lot of redness in my face, so I think the yellower undertone helps disguise that.

I put on my lotion (Olay) after washing my face and then apply this with a Samantha Chapman stippling brush. My skin is not dry in general and with the lotion still dewy on my skin I don’t have a problem with it drying too fast. I just shake the bottle well, put some foundation on my finger and then dot it all over my face (not too much, I don’t want it to be too heavy). Then I take my stippling brush and stipple all over, then swirl all over (including my jawline). This technique works really well for me.

I will have to come back and add how the oil control lasts when I’m at work. For the weekend it last plenty of time, but those long work days are the real test!

P.S. This is 40% off at Rite Aid this week, so hurry to get yours while it's so cheap!!!

I AM ABSOLUTELY AMAZED BY THIS FOUNDATION!

First of all, I haven't used any drugstore foundations since high school. I could never find a proper foundation back then. And I guess, everything changed since considering how good Revlon Colorstay is. Ever since Lancome discontinued their Teint Idole, I've been on a hunt for a new foundation (Lancome's new 24hr formula broke me out). And have been using Diorskin Nude which I love but wanted to try other foundations.

I stumbled across some beauty blog raving about Revlon's Colorstay so I bought it. I have acne-prone skin and a bit of redness but nothing major so I figured I had to get it in Combo/Oil. The coverage is very nice and the finish is MATTE - I put in in caps bc it really is MATTE. My face feels a bit dry after I apply it. So I'm thinking of trying it in Normal/Dry. My skin is kind of combo and some days it feels dry. So those with dry skin definitely should try Normal/Dry version. However, I find that after a few hours it really settles into skin and looks very natural and comfortable yet covering all imperfections. It is buildable but I just put Lancome dual powder on top and dot concealer here and there.

The best thing is that it does stay ALL DAY. I find that I really need makeup remover to fully take it off.

I've been using it for a bout a week now and no breakouts so far...keeping my fingers crossed.

Overall, very happy so far. Will definitely recommend trying it out.
And I want to try the Colorstay Whipped Foundation as well :)

would be so much better with a pump!! but overall i think it provides great coverage and definitely works best when applied with a stippling brush!

I'd seen rave reviews of this product for years on youtube, but resisted the urge to try it for myself until recently. I have normal to combination skin, its gotten earlier as I've gotten older. Overall I'd say that this product is worth trying, but for me personally it isn't a HG foundation by any means. I would say it has pretty medium coverage, but the color selection for people with yellow undertones if fairly poor. I have the 300 Sand beige which matches me okay but is little bit more pink than I would like. It does a great job of keeping me matte for the majority of the day. I feel like the foundation is just a bit too heavy for me personally, I much prefer a light fountain that gives good coverage without being able to feel it. I said I wouldn't repurchase this foundation for that reason. But overall I would recommend trying it, if you've had failures with other foundations!! I found this applies best with one of the Sigma synthetic kabuki brushes!

This is my go-to liquid foundation. 110 Ivory matches my skin tone well, and I like how there are two options for dry and oily skin. It lasts a long time, and is easy to apply either with fingers or a brush. I prefer to warm the liquid up in my hands first, but I don't think it matters either way. There is also a generous amount in the bottle. I have had this for ages and am barely a quarter of the way down!

However, the bottle drives me up the wall! I hate that it doesn't have a pump. I always end up with too much or too little in my hand. It creases under my eyes if I don't apply some powder there. The scent is a little funky too, but I guess that's normal with these kinds of cosmetics. Also, the coverage is pretty heavy. I stick to powder during the day for this reason, as I feel a little like I am wearing a mask when I apply this.

I will continue to buy this foundation as it matches my skin tone well and it doesn't dry me out. However, I might buy a cheap pump bottle and pour the liquid into that!

I bought this off ebay in Mahogany and also got samples in cappucino and Mocha. I didnt like the undertones of any of them or the actual finish of the product. I found it quite heavy and it settled in the crease of my mouth. By the end of the day my face didnt look good...It didnt break the bank trialling this but I wouldnt buy it again, its a shame as I wanted to really like this product.

I love this foundation yet hate it at the same time! It drives me insane that there is no pump and I just seem to waste so much product! I love when I put it on how the colour matches perfectly and that it lasts ALL day and to be honest makes my skin look pretty amazing, except I personally think it feels quite heavy? Then it comes to taking it off and what a nightmare that is! I try lots of different foundations but I always come back to this one because it seems to be the only one I can wear all day without wearing a powder (I hate powder).

If you are looking for full coverage but still having a natural look then this is the foundation for you as long as you don't mind a tough bit of scrubbing to get it off!

I am still yet to find a foundation which is long lasting that I can wear without having to apply a powder on top.

I really dislike this foundation and was surprised to find so many good reviews on it. It highlights small imperfections that are not noticable without it on, its very sticky and thick, stays on a while but only in certain spots making my make up blotchy, and also highlights lines all over my face from just smiling or moving my mouth throughout the day!

So first off, I was really late to jump on the Colorstay bandwagon, despite its wide availability and gleaming reviews from many of my favourite youtube beauty guru's.

I decided to pick up the version for Normal/Dry skin, and I'd heard blendability was a problem with the combo/oily version
.
The Pros:

- Coverage is amazing! This is easily one of the best drugstore high-coverage foundations around

- Shade range is really extensive for a drugstore brand, the only people who really miss out are super pale and super dark.

- Price is fantastic for such a high quality, high coverage foundation.

- Lasting power probably superseeds that of any foundation I own, or ever have owned. With well primed skin and a setting spray this foundation will last 10 - 16 hours, no joke!

The Cons:

- Packaging is average, a pump would be nice but it would probably just make it more expensive. The glass bottle is sturdy but it can be so difficult to control the amount of product.

- Even the lightest yellowish shade, 150 Buff isn't an exact match for me, it's still a bit too dark. I considered using 110 Ivory but my skin is too olive/yellow undertoned to truly make it work.

- The price; I know I listed this in the 'Pros' section, but I often see this being overpriced, instore and online. You just have to know where to pick it up really.

Would definitely repurchase! The cons hardly make a dent on the pros. A+

I used this in high school in the mid to late 90's.. it covered everything, stayed on for hours and didnt break me out. fast foward to 2010.. I "re-discovered" this stuff after my never ending hunt for a foundation that lasts more then 12 hours, doesnt rub off, leaves my face matte not dewy, and doesnt break me out, AND actually matches my coloring (I am a full blood Native American chick.) AND this stuff did everything I was looking for. IDK i stopped using this stuff to begin with?! I guess I thought high cost meant better stuff as far as my foundation. Not so with this stuff... they make lots of shades and have 2 diff formulas: one for Combination/Oily skin and one for Dry skin. Now I use this mixed with my current BB cream. I think I'll sick with this stuff from now on. If it aint broke... dont fix it<----I learned the hard way :-/
