This is a great liner for the price. It is very soft which does require frequent sharpening. It is soft enough to apply to the waterline without tugging. However, it is not waterproof so it does budge and disappear from the waterline. I find that it often transfers to the lower lash line.

I really liked the long-wearing nature of this product as well as the ultra-black look it provided, but my pencil dried out within a month. Even if I was using it every day, I wouldn't have used it up in that time. It's a shame that L'Oreal didn't give it a better cap, because then it would be an awesome product. However, since it dried out so quickly I don't think I'll repurchase.

I was looking for the perfect brown soft pencil liner forever and scoured Sephora for one with no luck. I was walking through the Loreal section at Target one day and came across this and thought i'd try it.

I love it! Perfect brown shade! It is almost identical, imo, to other more expensive soft pencil liners found at Sephora (and you know which i'm talking about). I want to get it in more colors and you cannot beat the price!

Love love love! Darkest black, creamy like a gel in the ease of pencil, sets wicked fast, and lasts all day. I have to sharpen it every time I use it (just a tad to get the point back), but it's worth it. An awesome $7 spent at Ulta.

A-mazing..awesome dupe of UD 24/7 and MUFE waterproof pencils. the color is deep black, and super soft and smooth. Staying power is great, but it does get used up quick so be prepared to buy it once a month if you're a hardcore liner girl like me.

This is by far the best eyeliner pencil that I have ever used, and I've pretty much tried everything. I have a very unique and frustrating problem when it comes to eyeliners and pencil liners specifically. The shape of my eyes (hidden double Asian eyelid) and just plain freakishness, pencil liners are pretty much all guaranteed to transfer and smudge. Gel liners tend to work better for me but they can't be smudged like pencil liners so the liner always ends up looking very pecise and too much like eyeliner.

What I love about this eyeliner is the intensity of the color combined with the creaminess of a soft pencil. In my opinion, the L'Oreal liquid pencil eyeliner is even softer and darker than MUFE Aqua Eyes or UD 24/7 pencils. The texture is a lot like the new Tarina Tarintino liner pencils but what makes the L'Oreal pencil unique and a must-have for me is that it doesn't smudge on me at all. I've finally figured out that the formula of the liquid pencil eyeliner is like a gel liner in pencil form. The liner applies like a pencil liner because it IS a pencil liner but the formula dries like a gel liner. It's absolutely remarkable and ingenious. I never gave a second thought to the fact that regular eyeliners, both kohl and waterproof formulas, don't set. THIS is why they smudge on me.

Since the L'Oreal liquid pencil eyeliner dries faster than a liquid liner but not as fast as a gel liner, you can still smudge as long as you do it fairly quickly. I find that I get the best results when I use a brush to smudge. You'll know when the liner has set because it will not budge. Applying another coat over the already-set liner doesn't work well so I've learned to work smudge and wing out my liner (if necessary) with the brush as quickly as possible. I LOVE the results. This is the best eyeliner on the planet.

I've used all the colors (brown, black, grey) and I love them all. The brown, although very dark and intense, shows up on my skin as a warm chocolate brown so I have to pair it with warm-toned eyeshadows or it will pull too much orange and end up looking unnatural. This brown does not work with cool or neutral eyeshadows and my coloring (NC20ish, lots of yellow undertones, almost black eyes and hair). The grey and black are both fantastic and work with everything. In fact, the color payoff is so intense that I prefer using grey or brown unless I'm doing a very dark smokey eye.

All eyeliners irritate my eyes a little if I tightline and so this eyeliner is no exception, but it lasts a lot longer on me than most liners and will not budge. I can't say if it lasts longer on the waterline than other liners since I rarely wear eyeliner on my waterline.

One final thing: as other reviewers have mentioned, this pencil i extremely soft and requires sharpening with each use for each eye. After tightlining and filling in my entire lash line, I have to sharpen my pencil again if I want a more thin and precise line above the lashes...and this is just for one eye. That's how soft this pencil is but it is worth every penny and inconvenience, especially if you can get them during a BOGOF sale. Absolutely the best liner ever.

This has a gorgeous rich deep color that makes my eyes stand out. Glides easily, stays put nicely and looks beautiful on my waterline and on my lid. This is by far the best eyeliner I have ever come across for the price and I would reccomend this to anyone who likes their eyeliner very dark.

My only complaint is that it's a little too soft, so I have to keep sharpening it. But the color is soooooo BLACK, so INTENSE. I love it for the waterline, although it doesn't stay as well as something waterproof. I'd be happy reapplying because I like the glossy black color so much. In fact, you can use this inside the waterline, squeeze hard to get it into the lashline also and then use a small smudge brush to really pull it out onto the eye. It's a great quick and messy smoky eye, rock star style.

New favorite eye liner. I was trying to find a drugstore equivalent to my favorite higher end liner which was Urban Decay in Zero. I wanted something smooth like that so it wouldn't tug at my eye. This L'oreal liner is like the urban decay one except BETTER! it goes on better. I just love it. It lasts all day too. Doesn't really smudge and I have allergic, watery eyes right now. I definitely recommend it. I bought it during buy one get one half off but even without that it's a good price and there are usually coupons if you get the Sunday paper and/or emails from L'oreal.

I like this product but it has a few cons that makes it a love hate kinda thing. The intensity and the way it glides on it is awesome, it is comparable to Too Faced Lava Gloss and less than half the price. It is super black which I love!! It last long, at least when I add a bit of liquid eyeliner over it. It does have a tendency to smudge but not near as bad as lava gloss. It also is a wooden pencil and I hate those and since the eyeliner is so soft I can barely get 1 eye completely lined before it needs sharpened and the wood is basically stabbing me in the eye lid. And if it gets on anything it is fairly hard to get off. Over all though, it is a good product
