I am not picky when it comes to lip balms and I'm really, really not an expert on them. Basically I decided I needed a nighttime lip treatment five years ago, and Burt's Bees was the first one I tried and it worked for me, so I pretty much stopped there. I've since tried the Pomegranate (too oily) and Honey (scent's too cloying) lip balms, but the regular Beeswax Lip Balm version is the only one that really works for me. It's very waxy and you can definitely feel it just sitting on top of your lips when you put it on. But when I use it at night, I wake up to super soft, super plump and almost line-free lips! I don't know if it's the beeswax doing it or what, but it gives me what I want so I don't think I'll be looking elsewhere for a balm. I also like using it under lipsticks, because it doesn't increase slip like other oilier balms would, which means that I get non-bleeding color plus hydrated lips. Always a plus in my book. Some may find the peppermint oil sensitizing so I would be careful about that if you're particularly sensitive to various products, but I've never had an issue with it--I actually like the minty tingle; it feels like I brushed my lips with toothpaste, haha! The only thing is that it's a little pricey for a balm compared to other drugstore brands, but it is indeed at least 99% natural, the packaging is bio-friendly, and Burt's Bees doesn't test on animals. For a tiny thing like a lip balm that lasts me well over 8 months with nightly use and works, paying a dollar extra is a small step in a good direction.

I thought I was having a reaction to my eye products because my eye's were watering everyday. I finally realized it was this lip balm. I think the peppermint oil was the problem. The balm itself was o.k. Just didn't work for me.
i love this lip balm mainly for that tingly minty feeling it gives my lips. Its a lip balm so dont expect miracles but it does help soothe my cracked lips and moisturize them while its on. but preventing flakes or getting rid of that? no not really. i have to scrub my lips for that. but ive never found a chap tick to do so. i think this is a little overprized for a chap stick but so it the Rosebud salve from sephora (and thats crap, crap that taste like wax). this doesnt really taste like wax. it has a chemical taste but it isnt horrible like the rose salve. when u first buy this it doesnt glide on too easily either. it tugs on your lips. but maybe after like 20 uses it starts softening up a bit.id buy again but id probably stick with my trusty 1$ Cherry Chapstick
This has got to be the worst lip balm I have ever used. Sad thing is this product was really hyped up, so I was curious to try it. It did nothing for my lips and probably even made my lips even worse than it was before. Another thing is the really fragrant smell that I can't stand in this lip balm. Usually I'm fine with fragrances in my lip products, but this was totally overwhelming. Not impressed.
Maybe I had an allergic reaction to this but I used it a lot when I first got it, in winter, and it did nothing at first but dry out my lips. I thought it was from the weather changing and kept using it. About a day after that my lips were irritated, swollen, so chapped and dry that I refused to leave my house. I didn't use that again until I bought another burts bees - the same exact thing happened. Don't get this!

I used to love this stuff. Looking back, I think because I loved the smell and it was all natural. I stopped using it when I noticed I kept getting infections in the corner of my mouth. Then I got bored of this lip balm and switched to another, the infections permanently stopped.
I have since used alot of other balms and this one is okay at best. There are others that have offer better moisturization and consistency.
I finally tried this lip balm and am really impressed. I have only been using it for about a week but it has made a huge difference in my lips! They were chapped and dried out before buying this, but they now feel soft and healthy.
This is by far the best lipbalm I have ever tried. It is moisturising and doesnt leave any icky residue on my lips. Just finished my first tube and I'm most definately repurchasing!

I find this to actually make my lips seem MORE DRY. I got this for free when I got some burt's bees shampoo. I returned the shampoo but kept the free lip balm to try lol. I like the smell (minty) but that's it. Doesn't help with my chapped lips and they aren't even very chapped :/ The stick is kind of waxy and dry and not soothing like regular chapsticks or blistex etc..Would not buy. Overall, have realized I don't like any Burt's Bees products which is a shame because I liked that they were natural etc.. :(
