I´m another break out person....any of the make up gives me break outs...exvept for this one. I feel really sorry for it, because it covers perfectly and lasts for hours, but i must stop using this product.
Tried it with foundation, then without, then even without moisturizer - I thinks it works better on me when I apply it alone and also i think looks better after a few hours as initialy loooks kinda powdery and doesn't cover pores.
I found that with moisturizer gets patchy and looks darkand dirty, above foundation looks heavy and cakey.
Very difficult to find my color match - had to take it back twice before found one that looked not too orangey or too red on my skin (fair-medium complexion).
Would not repurchase.
All I can say is WOW! This stuff is so easy to put on, and it lasts the whole day. I just use a big powder brush, a few swipes over the face and you're done. So quick and easy, especially in the mornings when I'm rushing out the door. I have combo skin and tends to get quite oily on my T-zone by mid afternoon, but the silica really does help to absorb the oil. The colours are great. I'm NC25 and it looks very natural on me. It evens out my skin tone and redness really well. It feels really light on the skin, good for everyday use. When I want to pump it up at night, I just put liquid foundation underneath and put the studio fix powder on top to help it set.
good coverage but feels heavy and itchy =(
it just so happen "in the name of beauty"
I have oily acnegenic skin. Good coverage but made me look like a powdered donuts. Sat on skin. Too matte. Afterawhile it lookde gross and cakey. Wreaked havoc on my skin. I used it once and got 2 cystic pimples and clogged pores!! I'm a makeup artist and have used it in photos before- doesn't photograph well either...Yuck...
This product is perfect for applying right before you present the weather forcast at your local TV station and/or pose for the cover of Playboy.
When used with a light hand, this does a great job...unfortunately most people use this like they're trying to cover up a terrible case of chicken pox. It's sooo frustrating seeing girls piling this on, making themselves look like a piece of suede!
Yes, I know you've used this along with your Twig lipstick and concrete eyeshadow since they came out in the early nineties, but please move on!
Mac makes so many amazing products that are better than this..now have a glass of wine, wash your face, and go try them.
PS: Please disregard this review If you are in fact using this to cover up your beard stubble before performing on stage as Diana Ross, Cher, or Madonna.
I've been using Studio NC-35 for several years....
I keep a compact in my purse and in my train case -- I'm Eurasian, with some olive/yellow undertones, and it's tought to find colors that compliment my skintone.
Luckily for me this one, matches pretty well and doesn't feel heavy or "cakey" or too made up in the application -- and its nice that it's multifunctional --- concealer, foundation...
Definetly a MAC treasure!
I've been purchasing this powder for three years now, and I've only had to buy 3 compacts so far. So, as far as money is concerned, it's not too overpriced. ;) As far as the foundation is concerned, it's the best I've ever tried, and I've tried a lot.....liquid and powder. It's light, but gives you a good medium coverage. I have oily, acne prone skin. It's still oily, of course, but I have treated my acne. But, I still get the occasional breakout and am left with some post acne marks. (Red spots) Thankfully, this doesn't break me out, it covers my red spots, and it evens out my skin tone. I've heard people complain that it's too matte, DON'T USE THE SPONGE! I use a nice, soft, big, fluffy powder brush to apply the foundation. I just run the brush over the powder, dust off any of the excess powder, and apply. The result is beautiful flawless skin. Everywhere I go I get complemented on how beautiful my "porcelain" skin is. This is, by far, my HG foundation. I just have one, simple complaint...I wish the packaging was nicer! For $25 the powder should come in a sleek, chic compact. Oh well, it's what's in the inside that counts. ;)
I'm 25 and I have been wearing makeup sense I was 14. This stuff is truly the best. IT LASTS FOREVER for me, like 7 months so 20$ is nothing! I've been useing this product for going on 7 years, I just use this on my face, with a brush and some powder bonzer and Im off with a great glow that lasts all day. I love this stuff I don't know what I would do without it. I let all my friends and my sisters try some and now they are all hooked, we're L.A. girls and this is defiantly the stuff to use if you want your skin to look like a model in a magazine, ( Its worth going in the crowded stores of MAC ) And in pictures, it even better, recomended with some bronzer, or blush.
*Remember* with MAC, "Less is more" so if this is "cakey" for you, your using way too much. This stuff is the best.
