Wow! This is like a breathe mint for your body! I've known about this soap for 2 decades now, but never tried it until recently when I received it as a gift. I love the strong peppermint kick, but like others have stated: Be careful near sensitive areas! If you're looking to get squeaky clean, this soap is for you. It really does strip away all traces of oil and dirt. I was also surprised by the explosion of lather. Wow! I will definitely keep a bottle of this on hand.
Very pepperminty smell! It makes my whole bathroom smell nice! I work out a lot (especially in the summer) and as result I sweat a LOT (especially in the summer) and this is one of the few things that makes me feel clean. Just don't get it in your eyes - it stings like you wouldn't believe!
Oh, and it is a bit harsh, as some of the other reviews have said, but that's why the bottle says you should dilute it! Probably not a good product if you have sensitive skin, though.
In the summer, when it is hot and disgusting out, I race home so that I can take a cool shower with Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Castille soap. It is the most wonderful thing in the universe when you are hot and sticky from a long day. You step out of the shower and the air hits your skin after being refreshed with the peppermint oil soap, and the world seems bearable again. This is one of my "must have" summer products, all for a whopping $4 a bottle (of course, I remember when it was $1 for the travel bottle, but I am old, so hey.)
Not to mention that this product is a multitasker's dream: I have used it on camping trips to do my dishes, clean my scalp (long backpacking trip=no shower=no daily shampoo), and toothpaste (not my favorite use, but it works). I've used it full strength to spot clean my hardwood floors at home, and to get bugs off of my windshield. Heck, there's even reading materials printed on the bottle, for your entertainment! (The old bottles even had a recipe for homemade birth control, but I don't think they're printing that dubious use anymore....) Not to mention the tingly properties of this product for a different sort of entertainment (but you'd better dilute it!) I once had a male roomate who used this full-strength in the shower, and we all had a good laugh listening to him shout "What the...##$$@@!" Good times, good times.
If your skin is very dry, definitely use a lotion after this, as the peppermint soap is drying (the almond one is moisturizing, so maybe blend it with that.)Just remember, in the words of Dr. Bronner: "Dilute! Dilute! OK!"

I love these products. I use the peppermint on my wood floors, the almond on my skin, and am about to try the baby one on my oily facial skin soon :)
This product has been a life saver for me for years. Although I love the fun and excitement of beautifully scented products in flashy packaging, Dr. Bronner's Liquid Castille Soap is a standard in our household. It wakes me up, clears my head and makes me feel so incredibly clean that it puts all other shower gels to shame! I always have some of this in my shower, no matter what else I'm using. My husband won't use anything else but this genius peppermint liquid soap. And, I love that it's natural and doesn't dry out my sensitive skin.
I love Dr. Bronner's liquid castile soaps. THe peppermint has a very uplifting scent. You would think that it refreshes every part of your body....but...it tingles only where it shouldn't if you get my drift. That's why i took one lippie off. But I still give it the usual raves.....it's gentle, smells nice, doesn't irritate and doesn't dry out my skin.
I have been using this cleanser/soap for over 6 months and I must say that is it an excellent body wash. I would never use the peppermint kind for the face since most minty extracts irritates my face and I have oily but sensitive skin. I use this as a body wash in the warmer months since I sweat pretty hard when the weather warms up. I would be careful with this stuff around your genitals since it can make it uncomfortable sensation, but great for those who suffer from mild body acne. I would be careful with this cleanser depending on what kind of water you have. When I was in school, I think the town used well water or underground water and when using this soap, it stripped off everything, even nail polish.
Love, love, love! I've been using this since I was a little girl, and I've never found a more perfect soap for getting through humid Florida summers. Great for when you are hot, grimy and in need of refreshment. Great for a foot soak treatment, and you can even use it as toothpaste in a pinch! Has been and always will be a staple in my home.
The dark horse HG of my search for something to shower with. It's completely natural (made from plant oils) and by traditional processes. It cleans very well, feels very refreshing, and creates an amazing amount of lather, especially given that it doesn't have lauryl sulfates etc..
You do have to look past the religious rantings that cover the bottle, and read the part where it says "Castille Soap". Although I had been looking for a castile soap, I would never have bought the stuff if I hadn't been forced to pick up a bottle to use at someone else's house.
I use this stuff for body and face; hair not recommended. Good as an everyday handwashing soap and for hand washing delicates, too.
