This is the only mineral makeup I can wear. B.E and a bunch of drugstore brands I've tried all make my face itch like mad.

Let me say I use B.E. and have for several years but every once in awhile I try new foundations. I was almost sucked in by the infommercial because it claims Sheer Cover is better than the other well-known mineral makeup. I was curious. Thank GOD I came to my senses and got it from a swap. Everything about Sheer Cover is cheap. The packaging, the brushes, and yes, the minerals. The plastic is cheap and the lids do not smoothly twist on and off like B.E. The brushes are cheap, synthetic, porcupine like brushes. SOOO unlike B.E. The minerals give off an odor unlike B.E. and do not feel smooth on my skin. I think one either likes mineral makeup or not. If you are looking to try a good mineral makeup this is not it. Bare Escentuals is so much better. UPDATE: I have recently learned that B.E. contains an ingredient ( Bismuth Oxychloride) that cause iching in some people. Granted the majority of people do not react in that manner. Also, store brand minerals are not all natural...most, if not all, include talc and other preservatives. Look at your ingredient list before purchasing. I have also learned that Everyday Minerals is not only all natural but does not include the "itching ingredient" found in B.E. If B.E. does not work for you, try Everyday Minerals. But I stand behind my claim that sheer cover is cheap. Sheer cover also contains Bismuth Oxychloride.

11/2/07 I have to add that for cool, fair to light skin tones, BE does not seem to have that perfect match tho all fair and light minerals are forgiving and can be worn. Sheer cover's bisque works on my cool skin tone the best so I will try B.E.'s bisque concealer with a full coverage brush and use as my foundation. Everyday Minerals has one of the most comprehensive color choices I have seen and I hope to try that soon.

I'm torn with this stuff. I loved it last winter but in the summer I got all oily and sweaty. It looked terrible. I know a lot of people change their make-up by season but that just dissapointed me. Good price and it made my skin look flawless...but only from December-April!

ugh... i must've been in some crazy mood or it was a full moon when i ordered this stuff off the tv. the foundation's pretty good but the powder either didn't look like anything or looked cake-y. definitely needed to cancel right away before they started sending those auto-shipments.

The formula was long-wearing, and applied well, but the mixing the 2 shades together.....I think that's a bunch of CRAP that just makes it easier for the company to market. Noone should have to mix and guess, mix some more just to get the right makeup shade, since you are paying good $$$$ for it. They should break it down and offer a few shades in LIGHT and a few in the Lt/Med category, and so on.......they just classify everyone as Lt., med, tan, and dark and then you gotta do all the other work. And, you waste alot of product trying to get the right shade.I would probably be a faithful user if they took a little more time to develop some more specific shades, but I'm not going to pay the money and have to do the chemist's work for them.
Otherwise, if you don't mind mixing and wasting the product, and have all the free time on your hands, you may love this. I have pretty much normal skin that can get a tad oily in the t-zone, and I have no complaints about the makeup itself.......although you can't take it with you for touch-ups during the day because that would be a BIG MESS.

First off, I reviewed the concealor seperately b/c I actually like it. I ordered the kit from watching the info-mercial - I fell into the trap of thinking I could look as good as Alyssa Milano if I wore this MU - HAHA!!! Also, I thought you got a ton of stuff for $38, including several brushes which i like and continue to use with my other MU.

Side note: The brushes are Studio Powder Brush, Studio Concealor Brush and the All-In-One brush (which is a travel brush that you put the Mineral foundation in - it's OK and I have used several times - fits into purse easily). The concealor brush is my favorite - I use it every day with BE Well Rested and am SOOO happy to have it. The powder one I use for BE's mineral veil only and it is working nicely. This is why I gave this 3 lippies. OH and keep in mind that these brushes are similar to BE's and other mineral brushes in that they are scratchy at first.

However, the foundations are a different story. I will never (OK, almost never!!! haha!!!) buy anything without checking MUA again!!!! First, although I like the see-through containers, I found them hard to screw shut and rather cheap. I didn't find the powders to work or match my skin tone as well as my BE foundations. Mixing the two lightest to find the best color match for me was annoying and didn't result in the proper color anyway.

Side note #2: I haven't tried the conditioning cleanser and the moisturizer. I'm afraid they would break me out. I did use the mascara that came in the kit and I do like that - it separates, defines and lengthens - all the things I desire in a mascara. I also don't think it flakes during the day. Plus I really like the brush shape - like an hourglass!

Also, I HATED being locked into auto-ordering which they force you to do to receive the deal. I called back a few days after trying the products and didn't have a problem cancelling over the phone, but I guess I will have to see if that is reflected in my bill.

Overall, i would say that I'm happy with what i received for the $38.00, but I will not be ordering sheer cover again and if you are trying Mineral Makeup for the first time, try something else.

One Word: SCANDALOUSS!

My skin is actually combo due to the excessive heat and since the weather is cooling down, i can feel it get dry again. Anyways to make my review more accurate my skin is Neutral with yellow undertones and uneveness. My acne flares up whenever it pleases. I got this in light/medium thinking it would do my acne well. The package is very nice looking but you can never judge a book by it's cover, no matter how pretty the front is. I used this very sparingly and gently, however my face NEVER gets oily.. only when it's really hot. This made my face literally SWEAT, I dont know what the hell is in this so called "mineral makeup" but it made me break out and when all hell breaks lose, i am going to sue this company for false advertisement. Do not ever buy anything off the TV. EVER!

I really like this product line, especially their concealer. I am not a fan of BE except for their Mineral Veil, Glee blush, a few lipsticks and some of their e/s. BE's foundation feels awful on my skin and I promise I don't use much. BE is alright for covering some dark spots but only after I've used a non-oily cream concealer first so that it will adhere and stay put awhile. I plan on sticking with my Sheer Cover for mineral makeup.

I have tried so many foundations and i always come back to this. I find that most liquids end up caking around pimples and end up fading off in a little while. This makeup covers in an unobvious way and makes my complexion look almost perfect (not the easiest thing to do with as many blemishes as i have). It would be great if all women could try it.

LOVE THIS STUFF. This is truly the only foundation i EVER want to use again. I have rosy cheeks that i like to tone down, and this did just the trick, without making me look fake or look caked on. It goes on smooth and even and lasts throughout the day. My only complaints is that yes, you do get very oily throughout the day and the other is that this is extremely expensive and they decide to send you a $100 bill every month, which I got. I did cancel because I couldn't keep up with $100 every single month, being as I am only 16, but as read in a previous review, they now sell in Target.. I WILL DEFINETELY GO THERE ONCE I AM OUT!
