I've bought this so many times...can't believe I've never rewiewed it. I have fine, BSL hair and this is my perfect rinse-out condish. It does require more rinsing than a lighter conditioner, but the extra effort is worth it IMO. It makes my hair soft and shiny, and not plasticky or waxy like most -cone conditioners. I don't need any leave-ins or anything after I use this conditioner, which is great because I like to keep things simple. I know my hair will always look great when I use this, so I will keep repurchasing.
The only thing I don't like is the packaging. The tube collects water in the cap...and opening a jar in the shower is annoying. I buy the jar now because I use it so much.
My hairdresser loves this product and has for years so I decided to give it a try. LOVE IT! My medium length, colored, thick, wavy hair feels so soft and smooth. Will definately repurchase.
HG conditioner. This made my hair so voluminous and so soft. I love this product, a little goes a long way. Hardly any styling is needed after using this great stuff...have repurchased twice...love it!
my HG deep conditioning treatment! I have long, super thick hair, and this does a great job of moisturizing beyond belief without weighing hair down. My hair is conditioned, shiny, and healthy looking after using it. A bit on the pricey side but definitely worth it.
Would def. buy again!
I've used the original Conditioning Balm formula off and on for years. I have thick, curly/wavy caucasian hair, and I like a conditioner that keeps it from puffing up and getting frizzy. This conditioner smooths my hair and makes it more manageable. I use it every shampoo (2-3 times a week.) My ONLY complaint is that this company tests on animals. If they didn't, this would be my HG conditioner. Since they do, I'm on the lookout for a new, cruelty-free deep conditioner.
Excellent conditioner. I noticed the difference after the first use. This makes my thick hair very smooth and shiny and easy to style. I like the smell as well.
I used this for 15 years and then they changed it a few years back and I just couldn't use it. The smell was so over the top, that it gave me a headache and hayfever symptoms. Trying to find something else has been really challenging - it's amazing with as many conditioners as there are out there -- how few actually work - (but I despise silicone and/or protein on my hair - so it's even more limited.) I gave this another try for old times sake and it was still - horrible. I just found it so overwhelming - with the smell and the consistency being so much thicker than it used to be. It used to be such a great, consistent, wonderful product that gave me gorgeous hair and now it's pure trash. It's way too drying and the smell is ridiculous. I loved the old formula Conditioning Balm...and I, of course, sent them an email telling them to bring it back, not that it will do any good, since they were bought out by Loreal. Update: Watering this down helped, but the smell was still way too strong and made me congested. After trying every conditioner I could think of, I ended up trying the Generic Version at Sally's and I like it very much. The smell is way softer and I don't react to it, plus the formula is lighter and I don't have to water it down. To me, it's closer to the old formula and I like it quite a bit....crazy.
Oh, how I love this stuff, although I have only used it once now.. so it's too early to be so sure! :) But, my hair has been going crazy in the weather changes here (5% humidity jumped to 80%!), and so I needed to calm my hair down - as it was frizzing beyond what I am used to! I have fine, wavy, long hair that I blow dry.. and it's pretty much no-fuss.. smooth, soft, and easy to manage. After the weather changes, I tried the sleek look s&c, and AWFUL stuff. My hair was still frizzy, but felt weird, too. Instead, I researched MUA and decided upon Paul Mitchell Shampoo One, which I used in conjunction with this conditioner. I worked it into my hair real well (about a quarter-sized amount) and I could feel the difference! Left it in for a few minutes while finishing up my shower, and now, after styling, my hair is calm, soft, and not weighed down at all! I'm not sure if I can use this every day (bummer!), but it's a great addition to my tub - and I will use it 1-2x a week, unless it begins to fail me! Smells wonderful - I love all things Biolage-scented. Clean! continued >>
This is such a good moisturizing product. It really does soften and moisturize your hair. The big tub had plenty of product in it, so i think the price is justified. The only bad thing is that it can weigh down your hair if it's fine, so i only use it once a week.

This doesn't condition enough for my long hair. After a month of using this my hair was drier and harder to manage. It doesn't help to detangle and doesn't seem to fortify hair since I was seeing split ends. Can't say much about this conditioner except that it washes out cleanly. I was using it with the hydrating shampoo.
