i don't think i have a bad thing to say about this mascara. it gets the job done and doesn't clump. there are about 3-4 different mascaras i buy, depending on which is cheapest at the moment, and this is one of them. definitely recommended.
UPDATE: I got an allergic reaction to this product, so I removed one lippy, and said I wouldn't repurchase. This product contains coal tar?! I don't want to put that near my eyes!
This is my favorite mascara I tried so far. Makes your lashes full and soft. It doesn't run, even if its not waterproof. It doesn't flake. It doesn't make your lashes stiff and it doesn't give your spider lashes. What else can I ask for?
Edit: I think this mascara is discontinued in Canada :( continued >>
I used the full n soft waterproof all through high school and college, and recently went on a quest to find my HG mascara. tried most high end brands....shu umera, clinique, dior, and so on. Also tried many drug store brands...cover girl, maybelline, and a few others. I am sooooo disappointed in full n soft!! I thought I would love it again after trying so many bad mascaras.....I was wrong! maybe the waterproof formulas results are different than the regualar, but oh man the regular was not that great. I got it in brown/black. looked ok on the first coat, but then the second coat completely killed my curl. the color is more of a greey/black on my lashes. did not clump badly, and the brush is nice, but I will not buy again. some of the mascaras I returned during my search did a better job!!!
I tried EVERYTHING there was on the market, literally everything! Lancome, Biotherm, Dior, Loreal, Anna Sui.... You name it I have tried it. All the other mascaras can't even come close to this one's result. Don't even bother comparing it to DiorShow.... DiorShow is just the expensive copycat wannabe! Full N' Soft is cheaper and the result is WAY better. It makes my eyeslashes nice and soft if I wear 2 coats alone. GLAM lash effect if it is put on shu curled lashes with Shiseido Mascara Base. Trust me, even on Asian lashes too. I have the shortest and straightest lashes ever, so I know how it feels when something just works for people who are blessed with long lashes. BUT THIS ONE IS REALLY THE "IT" MASCARA! I am never going back to the department store mascaras! Now whenever I see the luxury brand's mascara ads, I just laugh. Coz they just NEVER work.
UPDATE after a year: switched to everlong, the result with this is great but it is just not BLACK enough.... I wanted more dramatic eyes :) still a great mascara though! I recommend this to my girl friends who wants natural looking eye make up
I decided to delete the first review that i wrote about this, because i really dont think i gave this mascara enough credit - and at the time, i was still testing it out :) I love the fact that this mascara did not cause any irritation; it darkened and lengthened my lashes nicely, and it definately leaves them a lot more flexible and soft than most products i had tried :) I really really like the formula - i find it easy to work with because it's not at all runny, but it's definately not thick either - it's just very smoothe. I've had a tube of this for quite some time now, and the consistency of the formula has stayed the same, still really smoothe ! Another thing that i really really luv is the brush for this mascara. I like the way the bristles are, and i find that it really makes the application so much better. When I pull the brush out of the tube, the right amount of mascara is on the bristles, so i don't have to wipe it or anything. I really do like this, and i want to re-purchase this for sure. While i will probably try out other products for fun, i will make sure to keep this one around too. I sometimes like to use this with a different mascara on top, but even if i use it on its own - it's a really great product. I can do a good number of coats with this, and instead of looking clumpy, it looks nice and full. I really really like this product - and i can understand why so many people keep coming back to it too !
changing this to a four stars , i left this mascara for awhile and went back to it recently. I curled my lashes and put some on and it made my eyelashes stay curled all freken day. And it wasn't like a curl it was like straight up curl. Okay not really but it's was pretty dramatic. It's really good but i don't wear it because it smudges and i end up with raccoon eyes in like 3-4 hours
I really do love this mascara. It is the best thing I have been able to find, and trust me, I've tried a lot of mascaras. I have light hair and the tips of my lashes are very blond, so in order to make it look like I have any lashes at all, I always have to wear mascara (unless I dye my lashes- for those of you with blond lashes, try a lash tint, it is wonderful!). In any case, this is very natural looking and soft (not crunchy, flaky, or clumpy, yay!). Also, I have never used a product that does more in the way of volumizing my lashes, it also seems to lengthen! The only drawback is that the tube dries out too quickly, I wish it were a slightly more liquidy formula. Also, I recommend using a lash comb after the mascara is mostly dry, just to make sure each lash is separated. This makes mascara laden lashes look much more natural and full. I like this more than Estee Lauder, Clinique, Shu Umuera, Neutrogena, and every other kind of mascara that I've ever tried! But somehow, I can't keep myself from trying new ones; I suppose at $6 a bottle, or whatever it is, it just seems too good to really be true.
This stuff is awesome!!! If you are looking for a new mascara then definetley try this one out!!!
The reason I like this is because I can wriggle it down at the base of lashes to give fullness, do my eyeliner and THEN come back and apply it AGAIN--WITHOUT clumps!
I would say consistency of this mascara is right in the middle between thin and thick-which is why you can add a second coat after it has dried without problems.
This mascara is one of the reasons why I never buy a new product without coming to check the reviews on here first. Thanks MUA! This is an amazing mascara. I definitely go for the soft, natural look with mascaras, and this one definitely delivers. I got it in brown/black (I'm Asian, but I already have black Mascara so I thought I might as well try a different colour), the non-waterproof version (cos I don't believe in wearing waterproof every day). It beats BB mascara and MAC Prolash by a mile. My lashes look much longer and thicker than usual, and I've even started experimenting applying mascara on my lower lashes (they are very sparse, Asian lashes) to mixed effect. It clumps very rarely (nothing a bit of brushing against the side of the tube won't fix) and goes on smoothly; it only runs when I take a shower (I know... should remove it first), and never leaves my undereye skin dark (like Prolash does). What else can I say? It's also so darned cheap! I may try the waterproof in black just to compare what it's like...
edit: I have been experiencing some lash loss recently, after using this for about a month. I'm not sure if it's this mascara's fault, but some pp have mentioned that it causes lash loss. I'm in a quandry! What to do?
Edit Again: So I tried L'Oreal Voluminous and it can't hold a candle to this. I've decided this is my HG.
Ooh, I just tried putting many more coats on than I usually do (I usually do 1-2) and this builds very very well for an even sexier and loonng look! This really is the best mascara ever :)
edit again: I'm onto my second tube...and I'm falling in love all over again cos fresh, this is just the best thing in a tube :) defines, separates, volumnizes, lifts, I can't say enough for this mascara!
Yet another edit: It turns out the lash loss was due to LUSH Ultrabland, not this mascara. I now use Pond's Cold Cream and none of my lashes fall out :)
sort of a no-brainer choice for me: this stuff is cheap, doesn't flake or clump, looks natural, and can be built up for more oomph. i buy this in dark brown (i'm pale--nc15--with brown hair and blue eyes), and it makes my lashes visible, lasts all day, and, well, it's 7 bucks. i grab a new tube every two months or so, since it does seem to get a little wimpier with time (?). incidentally, i'm a fan of the straight brush, since i can *roll* the brush as i move it from base to tips of lashes (which for some reason makes the product look even more natural).
