This foundation works great, stays matte and covers well but I can't use it because although it goes on a perfect match it darkens up after a couple hours and I look like I'm wearing a mask. Yuk. So bummer, it was almost wonderful.. :(

Forget their old formula and buy the new 12 hour version. I think it's pretty good - good coverage, easy to blend and lasts quite awhile.

A lot of people review products as if the product was supposed to be made for them. Every product is different and one product can't work for everybody. This foundation is NOT for oily skin- it will make you look like a greaseball. And you do need to set this foundation with a powder. Overall, I like this foundation. The most frustrating part was the color selection. It's very limited.

i bought this stuff on a whim one day at cvs (foiled by the packaging! damn you rimmel & your fancy fonts) and i was actually a little impressed the first few days... i did find, strangely enough, it gave me a very dewy look, considering the stuff is called 'stay matte' but i didn't mind it. it matched my skintone, it blended well, everything was smooth sailin' until week two rolled around... i woke up one day and the skin all around my chin / mouth area was covered in tiny, skin-colored bumps, that were really sensitive to the touch and almost itchy? it was the weirdest sensation... so i was like, huh. maybe i brushed my face against something? i didn't really consider the foundation, i just tried to pack more on there to help cover it up. tuuurns out, that just angered the itchy beast that'd taken to living on my chin. seriously broke out even worse with these tiny bumps, like the weirdest rash i've ever had. usually my skin can handle ANYTHING too. did anybody else find this problem?? i didn't even know i was allergic to anything, either.
needless to say--
i discontinued using it once i figured out & after a few (scary) days of no makeup whatsoever, my skin went back to normal, and i haven't touched this stuff since.

i dun't approve. continued >>

I was hoping this product would provide a matte affect on my skin because of my naturally oily skin. First of this does give a nice smooth and firm texture to the skin but does break me out alot, it somewhat helps with oil production except for my nose and forehead which i go over with a powder. The smell wasnt half as bad as some of the other foundations i've used and i thought this gave a very minimal coverage and you could still see every imperfection including blotchiness. It wasnt a thick cream but when you apply it, it is very hard to blend and often looks very streaky. This product is alright but you need ALOT of time to apply. A couple weeks after i got it i noticed a disturbing seperation of the coloring from the product and was visible from the outside. This product is average but i only recommend it if you want a matte LIGHT coverage.

This foundation is just okay. I would give it a 2.5 if I could, but since I can't and I'm feeling generous, I'll go with a 3. I'm used to much fuller coverage foundations (MAC Studio Fix fluid and powder, MUFE mat velvet, and Revlon Colorstay) so to me this barely gives any coverage. My skin's been decent lately so it's not that huge of a deal, but I don't even own a concealer because my foundation usually takes care of any acne marks or scars, and I definitely feel the need for concealer for a few newer acne scars when using this. On the positive side, it feels light on and keeps me fairly matte - not 100%, but I'm not a huge fan of that look, especially in the summer anyway - when set with the Rimmel stay matte powder (which I LOVE). As far as color, 200 soft beige is a perfect match for my NC25ish skin (I'm a little darker than that right now, but NC30 is too dark), which surprised me since it's the 3rd darkest out of 6 colors and I usually err on the lighter side of the spectrum rather than the middle, so if you are darker skinned, this is definitely not the foundation for you. I probably won't repurchase, but I think I'll use this on and off for good skin days when I don't want a whole lot of coverage until it's gone or it goes bad.

I have the newest version of the stay matte and its pretty good! I have very acne prone skin even though it is very clear now. This product doesnt brake me out thought! I love the fact that it is matte and does last quite a long time (5-6hours). it blends in easily with ur fingers and a sponge! Brush....:s not that good!

Do you ever desperately want to love a product but just can't? I really wanted to love this product. I gave it so many chances to change my opinion of it....but no luck. First off, I don't know why it's named "Stay Matte". Within an hour, my skin is shiny like a freshly polished bowling ball (okay maybe not that bad, but it does add a lot of oils to my skin causing me to have an apparent sheen). The consistency is a tad thin, but I find that it still manages to embed itself into my pours and cause breakouts. I've been on a hunt for a good foundation. I've tried high-end and drugstore (such as this) and have yet to find anything truly quality. This was just another waste of my money. :(

I really do like this product. I had tried the Revlon colorstay foundation and found that it broke me out and looked really cakey. The price for this product was also quite good. I find that most drugstore foundations go for about $10-13. I picked this one up at Ulta for I believe about $6-7! This foundation doesn't have quite the amount of coverage as the Revlon one, but for me the coverage is perfect. I apply the foundation with the Everyday Minerals flat top kabuki brush and it works great. I find that it gives a really natural finish, especially over pimples or dry spots. Although the color selection isnt great, the lightest shade seems to do ok for me and blends into my skin. The foundation stays on throughout the day and does not become cakey or wear off like a lot of other foundations. It also hasn't caused me to break out. All I can say is that i have had a really good experience with this product. I would buy it again. (:
