My year long search for the perfect primer has ended! I have found the perfect primer in Hard Candy's Sheer Envy Primer.
The application technique that works best for me is applying a generous amount evenly onto my entire face and letting it dry completely before applying foundation. If you're worried about using too much primer, you can always add a thin layer, let it dry, and then add another thin layer. Kind of like building coverage with foundation. This primer will not flake off like a lot of primers I have tried and applying foundation too soon doesn't allow the primer to dry/set and do its job.
As for the packaging, I rated it a 5 because when it gets low, I will be able to cut the end off and get what's left that won't squeeze out (I don't like to waste). Finally, the BEST part...it's only 8 bucks!

I love this primer. It's the only primer I've used, but it makes my foundation last essentially all day with little to no touch-ups. Since I have combination skin I deal with a pretty oily T-zone, but this primer eliminates that problem when used correctly. I find that a little goes a LONG way, a lot of people talk about a really greasy consistency on the face which in part is true, but I find that using a dime-sized amount is most effective. After using, I let it sit and dry for a minute or two, and afterwards my face feels velvety smooth and helps A LOT with my concealer and foundation application. It also does a great job of minimizing my pores. The packaging is really cute, as with all other Hard Candy products, and the squeeze tube is also very practical in that it's very easy to dispense the product and use all of it up. The only problem I've found is that it sometimes separates and you get a really watery-like substance, but if you shake it a bit first you can avoid that from happening. Also, it's not tested on animals!!
Overall, if you use the primer correctly, it can last you for a while and give you great results, and for only $8 at Walmart you might as well give it a try!

This is a good primer. Staying power is good.

Only thing is that I really dislike how it feels when I initially apply it on my face.
Initially it feels very oily and sort of sudsy. Yes, it sort of feels like there are tiny bubbles popping against my skin as I first spread it on my face.

But after a few minutes it feels just fine.

I recently purchased this product and I have to say that it is a decent product. Nothing to rave about, but it's not bad. I must say, i noticed that when i used it on top of my moisturizer it felt Really greasy. However, when i skipped the moisturizer it felt really great on my skin; not oily at all. With all of that being said, its an okay primer for the price.

Reading a lot of the other reviews, it seems that most of you have just recently tried Hard Candy products since they have been sold at Wal*Mart. Hard Candy has been around for years, since the early 90's. It used to be sold only through Sephora as high end beauty products at a much higher price. There has been a lot of speculation about the quality of the products since it is now sold at Wal*Mart and no longer at Sephora. I loved the products before and the primer was great. The primer, I have to say, is the same as it was before when I was paying triple the price. I am super excited that I can get the same great product for cheap, it is pretty awesome. I have normal skin but it does tend to get oily at times. The texture is a bit different than other primers, but it smooths out perfectly. I understand that it is going to be different for people with different types of skin, but for me it makes my skin super soft and my make up stays on all day. It also helps with my eyeshadow then I actually wear it. I would recommend that everyone at least try this product. I have used it for years and will continue to do so, sold in a high end beauty store or not.

Im surprised not more people like this primer! I have really oily skin and its hard to find a good primer that keeps my foundation on all day with out making me look greasy. I've tried tons of primers ( Mac, Laura mercier, Rimmel, Clinique, Monistat) Nothing seemed to work that great. I saw this at wal mart for 8 bucks and thought what do I have to lose? I love this primer! It feels alot like Monistat Chaffing Gel but it works a lot better. It comes out in clumps almost but goes on completely smooth! It makes my foundation last all day with out settling into the creases of my face! This is my new HG PRIMER!!! You can't go wrong

I agree with a lot of people about the texture; its weird. I have severe combination skin with a moderately oily T-Zone and extremely dry cheeks. I can't use this anywhere on my T-zone or I end up with a mess so I use it on my eyes and on my cheeks if I'm using foundation (I alternate between tinted moisturizer).

I would recommend to anyone with dry skin or dry patches as this definitely helps with minimizing how noticeable they are under foundation. Would warn anyone with oily skin to stay away or just use for eye make up (though there are better eye primers out there).

Overall a good primer. It keeps my makeup in place in the places I use it. Not a HG but works well enough while I search for it.

I got this randomly while I shopped at Walmart in the states. I thought I'd give this primer a try because it's pretty cheap and I might give it a shot (since I don't have a face primer yet).
The consistency of this product IS quite odd, I actually thought it was expired or something so I decided to make sure on mua...and I guess that's just how the formula is :S It looks chunky and white and oily. I can't decide whether it makes my skin oily or smooth. I have concluded that it does feel a bit greasy, but it doesnt work too bad smoothing out the surface of your skin and prepping for smooth foundation application. The so called lightweight formula totally throws me off because I dont think it is lightweight at all. But I guess the product isn't too bad for what you are paying for and the amount you want. I would not buy this product again because of the weird texture..but I guess i'll keep using it until I find a better one!
Hope this helps :S
