yes yes yes! I will buy this thing again! It's wonderful! I bought the Black Ruby because I have a mixture of colors on my eyes but the green is the most noticeable. I love this as a mascara and a eye lighting. My lashes look beautiful in this and natural! My eyes are greener than ever.. I wasn't expecting anything from this but I tried and I loved it! I will buy the one for blue eyes too and for hazel eyes for me and the brown eyes for my friend, she will love it. I cannot say anything about the other shades yet, but I will tell you how it goes with green eyes.
i purchased this mascara in black sapphire even though i have lt. brown eyes. i've been searching for a blue tinted mascara to brighten my eyes for the mornings that i have to be at work/school early, but stayed up reallly late the night before. :) i consider diorshow my hg, but their blue was wayyy too bright (i used it about 4 times before it started collecting dust) I really like the idea of this mascara - its not really a black base though - more dark gray. i have blonde eyelashes, so i need 2-3 coats to acheive a dark enough color. there is a VERY subtle blue shimmer, not as much as i hoped. i use it conjunction with a dark blue shimmer liner, and i think that helps. it is alright for a drugstore mascara.. (i learn my lesson each and every time) so i will not repurchase. cover girl should get on their advertising department's butts for the misleading pictures.
As a mascara, this product doesn't do much. It kind of curls a bit, but doesn't offer much length or volume. It's even worse, however, as an eye-brightener. I'm unfortunate enough to need the reddish colour, which was NOT flattering on my skin; it brought out the purple in my under eye circles a lot. And it didn't seem to do anything for my eyes either. No one commented and I didn't even notice anything myself. This is almost as big a disappointment as Almay's same product. Not recommended.
Okay, so I wasn't really planning on buying this product, but it came with the eyeliner that I like and I couldn't find the eyeliner anywhere else.... BUT I think this product has duped a few commercial consumers. No, it's not really sparkly (unless you count on the wand or on your hands when you wash it off) but putting that aside it worked really well for me. It made my lashes about 2X longer and 3X thicker (and mine are pretty long and thick to begin with), it separated them nicely, no clumping (although I wouldn't recommend trying to apply other coats after it dries) and I haven't noticed any flaking, smudging or irritation even when I wear contacts. It washed off easily, doesn't make your eyelashes look fake (sorry if that was what you were aiming for) and lasts until you wash it off. So while it may not make your eyes sparkle like a multi-faceted gem- Rihanna's don't either, I guarantee you- you shouldn't throw it away just because of that. Throw on some sparkly eyeshadow or something.
i wanted to love this mascara but i hate the brush i hate the clumps and i hate that the shimmer is so fine that its almost not there. boo to this product and i wont repurchase. it also seems to resist curl
This is a great idea for a mascara, but it sadly is all hype and no results. I purchased Black Sapphire in an attempt to make my grey-blue eyes look a little more exciting. Overall it's not a bad mascara (I bought the waterproof version). I can see a small amount of shimmer on the wand but none at all when on my lashes. It just looks like regular black mascara when applied. And this stuff is really waterproof! It is so much more difficult to remove than other Cover Girl waterproof mascaras. I doubt I would buy this again, but it's ok for now.
It's a good enough mascara, easy to apply, not clumping, nice color, etc. but that is not why I bought it. My eyes are brown but so dark they are almost black, quite boring. When I saw the commercials about how they make your eye color stand out and whatnot I immediately wanted to try it, well there was a sale at my drugstore for covergirl and almost all the ee mascaras were gone, only one brown left! So I took it, and wish I hadn't, it's nice like I said but my brown eyes look are boring as ever. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT...I thought the package was v cute though =]
When I first bought this product, I practically hated it. Now while it did give me decent length, it undid my curl after I curled my lashes...and it didn't bring out the brown in my eye like it said. I almost threw it away, but I paid like $8 for it so I was going to keep it for a while, and then throw it away : ) Well soon enough I forgot about it, but then recently while cleaning out my mascaras I found it again. Because I was bored, I put it on over the mascara I was already wearing, and I noticed some little shimmers. While it still does nothing to bring out my brown eyes, it's fun to know I have a little shimmer going on, even if no one else can see it.
Meh. It's not the worst mascara I've used but this is nothing special at all. I have the one for brown eyes and am not impressed. There is no brightening. If anything, it's rather dull and gray. Decent lengthening but tends to make my eyes itch and it flakes a little.
It's not good enough to put on with eye make up. If I do my eyes, I don't want crappy mascara detracting from the look. I've been tossing this on when I'm not wearing anything but powder and will be wearing my glasses because it does a decent job of lengthening and keeping lashes from disappearing behind my glasses without being too make-uppy looking without anything else (since it's not a strong black... and brown looks funky on me). But I can only wear it for short periods of time because it gets itchy and icky pretty quickly. I guess that's due to the stuff that is *supposed* to be "brightening"... Bleh.
Definitely won't repurchase.
I don't think I'll be using this any more. Wore it yesterday and finally saw some of that "shimmer"... it just looks grey... like I had bits of tissue on my lashes. and it was only on one eye... the other looked normal. WTH? Also, it started flaking worse and is sticky.
This is one for the bin, I'm afraid.
I'm not surprised this mascara only scores 43% or so on the repurchase scale. It's a huge disappointment no matter how you look at it. If you were hoping for awesome Vegas lashes...intensely colored and sparkly....then the joke's on you. If you're simply looking for a bit of tint to enhance your eye color and hoping that they were just kidding about the sparkle part, you're equally disappointed. This product is not well-defined for the consumer, and when that happens...the product is generally a FAIL. I'm a big fan of the Lash Exact franchise and thought that even if the Sapphire didn't make my eyes pop, at least I can count on the precise, non-clumping application LE is known for. Not "exactly". There is no sparkle (not that I wanted any) although once in a while...in a perfect light...I can detect a slight shine. I see no tint at all...just a black that is really more like a dark gray. And because of the lack of blackness, one coat is not nearly enough. I'm forced to put on two full coats...and that's when the real trouble starts. Despite the usually reliable LE plastic brush, my lashes stick together like there was SuperGlue in the formula. Each eye looked like it had just 5 big fat lashes. Ugh. I'm going back to Volume Exact. "Eyelights" is an eyesore.
