This is a great idea for a mascara, but it sadly is all hype and no results. I purchased Black Sapphire in an attempt to make my grey-blue eyes look a little more exciting. Overall it's not a bad mascara (I bought the waterproof version). I can see a small amount of shimmer on the wand but none at all when on my lashes. It just looks like regular black mascara when applied. And this stuff is really waterproof! It is so much more difficult to remove than other Cover Girl waterproof mascaras. I doubt I would buy this again, but it's ok for now.

It's a good enough mascara, easy to apply, not clumping, nice color, etc. but that is not why I bought it. My eyes are brown but so dark they are almost black, quite boring. When I saw the commercials about how they make your eye color stand out and whatnot I immediately wanted to try it, well there was a sale at my drugstore for covergirl and almost all the ee mascaras were gone, only one brown left! So I took it, and wish I hadn't, it's nice like I said but my brown eyes look are boring as ever. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT...I thought the package was v cute though =]

When I first bought this product, I practically hated it. Now while it did give me decent length, it undid my curl after I curled my lashes...and it didn't bring out the brown in my eye like it said. I almost threw it away, but I paid like $8 for it so I was going to keep it for a while, and then throw it away : ) Well soon enough I forgot about it, but then recently while cleaning out my mascaras I found it again. Because I was bored, I put it on over the mascara I was already wearing, and I noticed some little shimmers. While it still does nothing to bring out my brown eyes, it's fun to know I have a little shimmer going on, even if no one else can see it.

Meh. It's not the worst mascara I've used but this is nothing special at all. I have the one for brown eyes and am not impressed. There is no brightening. If anything, it's rather dull and gray. Decent lengthening but tends to make my eyes itch and it flakes a little.
It's not good enough to put on with eye make up. If I do my eyes, I don't want crappy mascara detracting from the look. I've been tossing this on when I'm not wearing anything but powder and will be wearing my glasses because it does a decent job of lengthening and keeping lashes from disappearing behind my glasses without being too make-uppy looking without anything else (since it's not a strong black... and brown looks funky on me). But I can only wear it for short periods of time because it gets itchy and icky pretty quickly. I guess that's due to the stuff that is *supposed* to be "brightening"... Bleh.
Definitely won't repurchase.

**update**
I don't think I'll be using this any more. Wore it yesterday and finally saw some of that "shimmer"... it just looks grey... like I had bits of tissue on my lashes. and it was only on one eye... the other looked normal. WTH? Also, it started flaking worse and is sticky.
This is one for the bin, I'm afraid.

I'm not surprised this mascara only scores 43% or so on the repurchase scale. It's a huge disappointment no matter how you look at it. If you were hoping for awesome Vegas lashes...intensely colored and sparkly....then the joke's on you. If you're simply looking for a bit of tint to enhance your eye color and hoping that they were just kidding about the sparkle part, you're equally disappointed. This product is not well-defined for the consumer, and when that happens...the product is generally a FAIL. I'm a big fan of the Lash Exact franchise and thought that even if the Sapphire didn't make my eyes pop, at least I can count on the precise, non-clumping application LE is known for. Not "exactly". There is no sparkle (not that I wanted any) although once in a while...in a perfect light...I can detect a slight shine. I see no tint at all...just a black that is really more like a dark gray. And because of the lack of blackness, one coat is not nearly enough. I'm forced to put on two full coats...and that's when the real trouble starts. Despite the usually reliable LE plastic brush, my lashes stick together like there was SuperGlue in the formula. Each eye looked like it had just 5 big fat lashes. Ugh. I'm going back to Volume Exact. "Eyelights" is an eyesore.

Somehow I'd missed all the commercials and advertisements for this item and hadn't noticed it when out shopping.*clueless* Then I recently noticed it in someone's swap list and got curious. I got the "Black Ruby" shade, hoping for a rich reddish/purple effect on my eyelashes. I'm a natural blonde (though my hair is darkening as I'm getting older -only 26!) and have green-hazel eyes. My eyelashes are more of a brown color, so I like to use mascaras that darken my eyelashes, for maximum effect.
I was skeptical about the hype surrounding this product, as to whether it actually makes your eye color "pop", or not. Rather than buy it, I got it new in a swap. Wore it with some blue and purple e/s the other night and honestly didn't notice a difference. I couldn't even see any sparkle and I applied two or three coats to top and bottom lashes. I had my fiance look at my lashes under bright lighting in Wal-Mart and 'he' couldn't see anything colorful or sparkly about them, either. So, disappointed. :(
It was also very easy and quick to remove with my Neutrogena Make-up Remover cloths.
It's still a good quality mascara. Wears nicely, doesn't clump, doesn't make my lashes overly stiff, and doesn't stick to my skin 'immediately' if I accidentally get some of it on my lid or under my eye (i.e.-poking myself in the eye with the wand), which I liked as I was able to quickly wipe it off. I did not get the water-proof formula. It was still nice and dark enough for my likes. I also like the wand, it's practical and easy to use.
Would I buy it myself? I saw that it was $6 or $7.00 at Wal-Mart, which I thought was a little too much for this product, so no. I like my Maybelline mascaras. Would I swap for it again? Sure, I'm interested in trying out the Sapphire color, anyways.:)
-I was put off by the advertisment's photo of the product. They show the color (at the bottom of the tube) as being so vibrant, but my tube's coloring is really drab. They shouldn't mess with the saturation in their photos, it's misleading.
*All in all, good quality, just not what it's advertised to be.

Ew! Clumpy, fat brush and really thick! those are the words that come to mind about the exact eyelights mascara. The only good thing about this (that pulled me toward a 2 not a one like it should have been) is that it kinda did brighten my eyes---a bit! Don't waste your money and buy this.

I always hate cover girl mascaras, but I got lured in by commercials for this one. It did accentuate the green in my eyes (I have eyes that are green, grey, and blue so I could have also used the blue one, I am sure, but I bought the black ruby color) and it really did make my green really stand out! Unfortunately, it didn't do much else. I found the mascara to be clumpy and to seriously start to flake shortly after it dried. It also did nothing for my lashes other than change the color, the mascara didn't hold curl well and made my lashes seem spikey. This mascara may be good for ladies with naturally gorgeous lashes, as a quick coat would add the color and work nicely in that aspect, but it doesn't do much else. I won't bother using again, probably.

I'm surprised by all the bad reviews for this product. I have to agree that this did nothing to enhance my blue eyes, but it still is a good mascara. I've used a lot of expensive mascaras that were clumpy and thick. I found, that for the price, this really surprised me. It comes out thin and smooth-not at all clumpy. I also liked the brush, which does a nice job of separating my lashes. If you're looking for a good mascara, give this a try. It won't do anything for your eye color, but it will make your lashes look nice.

Count me in as a "boo" on this one! Cover Girl makes such appealing ads these days and this is one of them. I got the hazel eyes/black gold mascara. I have found it globby, wand needs to be wiped clean constantly, and I have seen no improvement, in fact I think the lashes may be shrinking!
