I purchased Latisse from the MediSpa that I have my Botox done at. It was $130.00 for one bottle, which is a one month supply.
I began to notice results after approximately two weeks of nightly use. I used the single-use disposable brushes that are included.
After one month my eyelashes were noticably longer, after two months of use I began to get compliments and comments on how long my lashes were.
At three months I switched to Careprost and have received similar results, at a cost of $10.00 per month. Careprost does not include single-use applicators, and I now use an eyeliner brush.
After several months of nightly use of Careprost I did begin to notice that it did not seem like it was working as well as it initially did. I continued to use it, and approximately one month later I began to notice significant growth again.
I have noticed a slight darkening of my eye lid where I normally apply eyeliner. This does not bother me as it is not that noticable and is very easily concealed with makeup. I have only noticed an increase in length and have not noticed any difference in lash volume. I have had no problem with eye irritation and/or redness. My eyelashes now touch my eyebrows when they are curled and I am wearing mascara.
I was skeptical at first about careprost, since it is a 'knock off' Latisse and name brands always hold more clout. Despite this, I purchased 2 bottles of careprost at 11$ each from alldaychemist.com. I've been using it since the end of October, every night applying it to my eyelashes & eyebrows. My method is to put 1 drop into the well in the top of the bottle & then use the very handy eyeliner brush that comes with it to apply. I only use 1 big drop for both eyelids & the ends of my brows. It seems plenty enough, a drop per eyelid would be way too much. During the first few weeks, I noticed a darkening [purple-ish] line above my eyelashes & experienced some itching. Nothing horrific & I no longer experience it. As to iris pigmentation, mine eyes are still green, no change. I'm very careful not to get the product into my eyes, only onto the skin of the eyelid, sometimes I don't even try to get extremely close to the lash line, just within the vicinity. I employ a magnified mirror to help precise application.
My lashes before were ok, not awful, not praise worthy and asymmetrical. I noticed results after 6 weeks - my lashes were much longer than before & look splendid with mascara. They touch the curve beneath my brow when they are curled & mascaraed. I'm currently at 8 weeks I would guesstimate & can't wait to see how they'll look in another 8 weeks. They were always stick straight before, but I think I'm noticing a slight curl to them now. I would die of joy if they curled on their own like I hear some people experience. I definitely recommend this product; it feels like such a luxury having enviable lashes at such a cheap price. I will be repurchasing this product always.
I am asian and my lashes are stick straight.I started using careprost around 2nd week of September last year, first - to two weeks of use my upper lash line are a little sore and red but it went a way after a few weeks of use. I religiously apply it every night. after a month i started noticing it was getting longer and now I am past the 16th mark and my lashes are very long one coat of mascara and it looks like false eyelashes, I used to wear fake lashes all the time but now i rarely wear them because i got my own lashes that is longer, the only complain i have is I still need to use waterproof mascara because the curl wont hold if i use a non waterproof=( I am still on my first bottle and doing the application every other night. i will keep on buying them because it is so worth it.
Unbelievable! I started out with blond skimpy lashes and 3 months later I have show stoppers! Strangers even comment on how beautiful my lashes are. I started using this because I wear contacts and no matter what mascara I used, it always flaked off in my eyes/contacts or I ended up looking like a raccoon by the end of the day. I tried waterproof, regular, even sealers but it wasn't until I started using ONE DROP each evening of this stuff that I found bliss! I have had absolutely no side effects whatsoever and will continue to use it until they stop selling it. (I also buy it from alldaychemist.) I will upload a picture. Unfortunately, I didn't take one before, but you will just have to trust me when I say that my lashes looked nothing like they do now!!
Oh. My. God. Favorite product ever, I'm sooo glad I bought this!! When I first started hearing about Latisse, I wanted to so bad to try it but refused to pay tons of money, which I don't have. Then, thanks to MUA I discovered Careprost, which is just generic Latisse, and only $10/bottle!! (Plus $25 shipping, but I bought 2 bottles so really only $22.50 total for each bottle :)) I began using it right away and applied it religiously every night, using the eyeliner brush I got with it. I didn't really start seeing results until at least a month or 2 into using it, when I'd notice just 1-2 lashes per eye noticeably longer than the others (easily hidden with the use of mascara to blend lashes together so it didn't look strange, haha) Gradually more lashes got longer until now they are all super long :) I hit the 16-week mark about 2 weeks ago and WOW my lashes are so much longer and fuller than before! I posted a before/after pic (shows before/after with my eyes open and closed) and you can see that my eyelashes pretty much doubled in length! They are curly now, too. When I put on mascara, they look fake they are so lush and long. I never thought I'd be able to have eyelashes like these, I love them!
The only side effect I have is that my eyelid skin where I apply the careprost is red/brown, which goes away if I skip a few days of use. I really don't care, looks kind of like eyeliner, and is easily hidden with a little eyeshadow. One tiny bottle lasted me this whole 4 months and I still have some left! Definitely the best purchase I've ever made. I will definitely keep using forever, and I highly recommend you all to go buy some! (I got it from alldaychemist.com like everyone else)
Got it from ADC. My lashes and brows were thinning due to age (I'm in my late 40's). It was distressing because they used to be beautiful. Well, after 8 weeks of using this product, they are beautiful again. The thin spots on my brows have filled in, and I brush them up with some clear mascara so they look full and youthful. My lashes are not only longer but darker thicker and stronger as well. I will rarely lose a lash when I remove my makeup. My lashes are so long that my regular method of mascara application made them look a little freaky, so now I only wiggle the brush at the base to thicken, then gently roll it through the tips. I do not wiggle or build coverage on the rest of my lashes, only the base. I had a little bit of lid itchiness at first but it faded after a couple of weeks and I've had no other problems since then. This is a fantastic product.
Hello ladies, I've just ordered a bottle of Careprost and it's still in its original package. I did not know that I'd have to continue using it forever otherwise my lashes would go back to their original state. So I'm thinking I'll pass on this ( because it's time and money consuming). So whoever needs one more bottle for their supply. Please contact me, we can work out a swap or a sale. Thank you :)
i purchased this purchased at alldaychemist.com for $10 for 1 bottle, $1 for the eyeliner brush to apply it with, and $25 for shipping (i got some other stuff too, so i dont feel too bad about paying that much for shipping).
the packaged arrived in excellent condition about 2 weeks after ordering.
as i've only used this for 3 or 4 days, i cant comment on the effectiveness yet, but i wanted to make note of the side effects while they're still fresh in my mind. i'll update this review periodicaly as needed.
my natural lashes: short to medium length, dark brown, very straight.
no noticable darkening of the skin along the lashine, but my eyes do itch quite a bit, and i have to make a point not to rub them.
i should also note that i'm using this on the outer and innermost parts of my brows to help thicken/ darken the hair there. i'll be taking pictures along the way :)
UPDATE after 2 weeks, 3 days: so far, no noticable results, but i didnt really expect to see any quite yet :) my lashline still itches a little throughout the day, so i make a point to remind myself not to rub my eyes so i dont make any lashes fall out. its not a crazy amount of itching or anything though.
i also want to mention that i've stopped using this on the outermost part of my brows b/c i felt that it was getting too much AHA on the brush i use, since i apply an AHA and this after my shower each night. i figured it wasnt a good thing to mix the 2. BUT i'm still applying it to the inner part of my brows and i actually feel like i'm seeing some extra growth there!
i've changed this to a 5 out of 5! :)
i noticed FOR SURE results after about 3 1/2 weeks of use. its now been 4 and a few days, and my lashes are definately longer. not curlier though, and its hard for others to tell much of a difference unless i curl them and put on mascara. i'm also still usin in on the inner par of my brows and i DEFINATELY see more hairs growing! yay!
will update again after another month or so!
My review isn't so much about whether or not my lashes improved from using this product, as much as the side effects. I experienced such bad side effects from using Carepost, that I had to quit using it after 10 days. The first couple of days were fine, then I woke up one morning with strange red-purple eyelids. Actually, the color went all the way up into the crease of my eyes. My right eyelid was much more discolored than the left, which made covering it up difficult. The next morning, not only was the discoloration darker, my left eye was extremely bloodshot and sore. Not a good look. I kept hoping that it all would go away if I just kept with it, but it didn't. I got online and started looking into what other people were saying about Carepost and Latisse, and it wasn't good, which worried me. I wish that I had researched it more carefully before I bought it. After a week, my symptoms had not improved, in fact now both eyes were red and sore (and my eyelids still discolored). I followed the directions very carefully, and used the product sparingly. Anything that causes side effects like this, on something as important as one's eyes-well I have to question whether it's worth it. For me, no.
I've waited the full 4 months before writing this review. What this product did was made my lashes super long. Everyone thinks they're fake. However, it didn't thicken them at all, so to me it looks a little strange with long but kind of thin lashes. They're very long, over my eyebrows long. I've had people tell me that they're distractingly long LOL.
Anyway, this week I've added in mavala double lash to see if that can help with the thickness. I'm going to keep using the careprost because I do love the length. I just want to find something that can help the thickness.
I'll update after a month or so with the careprost and mavala!
