As of this moment, all other forms of eyeliner are dead to me. Since I purchased several of these a month ago (I own Blacktrack, Macroviolet, Dipdown, Sweet Sage, and Frostlight) I've worn at least one of them every single day. I simply can not believe how incredible these new gel liners are. Especially Blacktrack. It is the ONLY true black eyeliner that I've ever found and it really does stay in place and stays black all day. You can get a fantastic precise line right along the lashes for a naturally full lash look or you can smudge it for a sexy, smoky look. Once it dries, it won't budge. Finally, I can try all kinds of interesting lining techniques (Cleopatra, cat-eye, 60s Mod, drawing individual lashes, etc.) without fear of it all looking like a gray smudge at the end of the day. Probably my favorite perk of this liner is the fact that you can use it to line the inner rims of your eyes and itís still there 8 hours later just as jet black as ever. The formula is incredibly easy to work with; thinner and softer than a pencil, but more controllable and thicker than a liquid. With just a little practice and the right brush, I think anyone could get the hang of it. BTW, these liners come in a sturdy glass pot that Iíve already dropped twice on the bathroom floor and itís still holding up. Iíd try to avoid dropping it on tile, but even then, I doubt that itíd shatter.
Was waiting for AGES for another shipment of Fluidlines to arrive and FINALLY got ahold of Blacktrack! LOVE it! Applies so easily (I also use 266) and perfectly and it lasts all day! You barely need any of the liner on the brush when you apply it so this is going to last forever!
I am a converted fluidline girl! This stuff is exactly what I've been looking for to make a perfect line...and with just a flick of the wrist, I get a perfect upturned cat's eye. everyone recomended the 266 brush but I think it's too thick. I prefer the 209 because I am anal about having perfect eyeliner.
I love it! I've got this in Frostlite as well, but wanted to try Blacktrack for another basic shade. This is great as a base for smokey eyes and for pigments to appear richer on the skin. I also love it for its intended purpose -eyeliner. It's so creamy and smooth, I basically just have to touch my brush into the pot and I've got enough color. Creating a perfect line is super easy and it really does last all day! I prefer this over using e/s wet because there are no powder particles falling all over your face. And finally, this is PERFECT for creating great cat eyes!
Fabulous gel eyeliner. This was my first time using eyeliner. So this one was perfect for me. Blacktrack was my first and it goes well with my dark brown eyes. Highly recommended and lasts for ever!
Great product, great price! I am basically going to compare it to Stila smudgepot (havent tried BB's yet) I find this is creamier and easier to apply than the smudgepot.. strangely enough its "smudgier"! It lasts a whole day on me (as do the SPs). As for the color, well its black...hehe..it's not a superblack black, its a softer black.. you can probably build it up to something darker though. I also find that I can apply it to my inner rims easily without too much irritation. Another great thing about this is that it takes longer to set than the SPs so you can correct mistakes and smudge it out. I really think this is a great buy for those looking for a gel liner.
*edit* Ok.. it does seem to fade over the course of the day.. but atleast it doesnt give racoon eyes..it gracefully fades..lol.. took off 1 lippie
I've since decided that my fluidline in blacktrack is just not worth the money. In the beginning I thought it was great, but really it's basically disappeared halfway through the day and the black is more of a dark charcoal. It also dried up about two months into use (yes, the cap was tightly closed when not in use, and only open for a few seconds every other day or so). It did not work on my water line, either.
Blacktrack is dark black that can be built up to an intense black as desired. It's easy to work with; it's not goopy or messy yet it doesn't dry so quickly that you can't adjust it. It is easily applied with an eyeliner brush (I use the 266), and the texture is smooth and somewhat creamy. On my lids, it lasts all day without fading or smudging (for reference, I have "normal" skin). It even lasts a decent amount of time in my inner rim, which no pencil or powder has been able to do yet. It doesn't stay in my rims all day, but I suppose that would be asking too much. I will definitely look into the other shades. Update: Adding a lippie. After using this a for few weeks, I tried my black pencil liners. They looked primitive and obvious on my eyes. This blends seamlessly with my lashline. I'm tempted to toss the black pencils now.... continued >>
OMG these new MAC gel liners are INCREDIBLE, it would get more lippies if I could give it more! Blacktrack is a plain black, but I love to use as a liner, goes on smoothly and lasts all day! The staying power on these gel liners are incredible, they don't smudge and even stay on all day on inner rim, a MUST have item from MAC! I am SO loving these! If you hate MAC or aren't a MAC lover, that's fine, but if there is 1 thing you need, you absolutely have to try from MAC, it's these babies, their fluidlines, nothing like them out there. Well, ok BB has some gel liners too, but I don't think they are as good as MAC, MAC has better colors to choose from and better staying power.
**Updated** I am still loving BlackTrack, I use it everyday, yep you read it correctly...EVERYDAY! It is a HG for me!
I loooove my fluidliner. I fully intend on going back to my MAC counter to purchase more of these based on the wonderful results I get with Blacktrack.
I find that this fluidliner goes on very, very smoothly - like the Powerpoint eyeliners, it's as if it melts on more than anything. The color is nice, and you can build it up to a very intense black easily. Also, it's a nice base for eyeshadows - I often use Blacktrack with some Beauty Marked eyeshadow from MAC on top of it, and it looks wonderful.. it really traps the eyeshadow, so I don't even have to wet it before I apply.
This fluidline LASTS. There is no smudging and no fading when I use this. I apply this even to my lower waterline, and it stays there until I take my makeup off. This is the ONLY eyeliner I have tried that has that kind of durability. It's incredible.
Just another point - my friend was showing me her royal blue fluidline, which looks fantastic, by the way, and it accidentally rolled off of the table.. you would think the container would have broken, since it's glass, but it was perfectly fine. I'm guessing the glass is so thick that you'd have to smash it with a hammer for it to crack, or something.
Overall, I adore my fluidline. It works like a dream, and for about the same price as a MAC eyeshadow. The only thing I can think of that would cause issue is that you need a brush to use it - but I already had an eyeliner brush anyway. Brushes also allow a lot of flexibility in the way you apply the eyeliner, so in that sense, it's more of a pro than a con.
I will definately repurchase this when mine finally does run out - which I have a feeling will take quite a while, even though I use mine pretty much daily. Excellent product! I highly recommend it.
