Holy HG! I love this foundation.... it does exactly what it says, creates a MAT VELVET finish. I have combination skin and this has been one of the only foundations that doesn't leave my forehead looking greasy by the end of the day, even with moisturizer on underneath. It's a little pricey but definitely worth every penny! I apply with my beauty blender and it gives a perfect finish.
I'm a foundation junkie and this is by far the best foundation I've tried for my oily/combo skin. I love the finish and coverage this product gives. I think too many reviews are giving it a bad wrap--you really need to think about the finish you are desiring before purchase. If you want long-last, matte coverage this is for you! I like to apply this with my beauty blender or a stippling brush, then I add a powder just to my t-zone and I'm good to go. I would for sure recommend anyone with oily skin to at least try this product!
This product was very cheap, especially for its price. I got a sample of this at Sephora and wore it for 2 days. My face broke out pretty badly, and it made me look cakey. There were also noticeable lines on my face every time I smiled. This is something I would expect from a drug-store makeup- NOT a high-end brand. The one thing it did do was keep my face mat, like it claimed. Save your money.
I love MUFE HD foundation but needed a little more coverage so I tried this-
It does cover but I hated it as an all over foundation. It's so thick, smells like paint and hard to work with. Also i'm not sure if the salesperson at sephora gave me the wrong shade, but i look ghostly with this on.
Reminds me of theatre makeup. Even the bottle - which I'm not fond of.
Keeping it to use as a concealer but won't be repurchasing.
I have experimented with various foundations for most of my life, never finding one i felt i had to be brand-loyal to, until now. This product works very well for me. I have oily, acne-prone, sensotive skin, and have often struggled with finding a foundation/skin care combination that keeps me from looking worse and worse (i.e. oilier and oilier) as the day progresses. MUFE mat velvet+ has been the best that I've tried so far. It took me several days to figure out the right amount to apply (truly only takes a drop or two), and the proper method of application (a sponge works best for me, sometimes mixed with a dab of moisturizer if I'm very dry that morning), but I feel I've found a good balance. I am still oily enough that I need to reapply a bit of powder by the end of the work day, however, the true benefit for me is that it seems to keep my skin fairly stable, rather than popping new zits all day long as other foundations have done in the past. I'm happy to have finally found a product that actually seems to help my skin, and may never look back.
I read a video review on Youtube from Tiffany and thought I'd give this a try. The SA said 40 would look best on me (NC30) and maybe it did in store lighting. She gave me a sample to take home but when I looked under my Ottlite, I looked ashy, pink and like I was wearing a mask. This doesn't have enough olive in it to make it a skin match. On top of that, it settles into my pores, no matter if I wear primer or not. Maybe using this with a brush will be better. I have combo skin and after a few hours this left my face looking dewy but even after 6 hours of wear, it's still on my skin. I used an oil based MU remover and a soapy cleanser and still had residue on my towel. This is some heavy-duty stuff. I would buy this if they made more olive tones. I did not use powder as I was testing this for oxidation. It does not oxidate but made me look pink and peachy. It's a good value (if you can find your true color) as you only need a dime size for medium coverage. My search for the perfect foundation continues...
I REALLY wanted to love this foundation. I had heard such great things about it. I DID love it...at first. It gave good even coverage, covering all of my dark spots and left a very matte finish. I have extremely oily skin, like EXTREMELY. I kid you not. I applied this with a MAC brush after using PTR Mattifying gel, and it lasted all day long! Have never had such good, matte results with a liquid foundation before!
Unfortunately, my skin was broken out the next day and has continued to be after each use. (I only wear it once-in-awhile). If you don't have acne-prone skin like myself, you should definitely give it a try though!
I have such mixed feelings on this product! I purchased the foundation at Sephora along with a foundation brush after having a lesson with one of the consultants. It gave such great coverage for my freckles and dark spots (even when I put it on-not the consultant). However, I started breaking out almost immediately. I stopped using it until my skin cleared and tried it again. Same thing. If your skin isn't prone to break-outs, then it's an awesome full-coverage foundation. If your skin is sensitive, then buyer beware.
Great coverage even with a small amount. Even though the coverage was great it made me break out after I was finally clearing up . If my skin wouldn't react to this foundation it'd be the best foundation I've tried and I have tried so many. Hope the review helps!
I LOVE this foundation! I do believe it will be my new HG. I have oily skin, which is weird because the rest of my body is dry all the time, but my face will shine within 2 hours of being washed. My oily skin also causes many foundations to oxidize on my skin causing it to turn orangey. Not this one, this foundation suits me perfectly! The coverage is a medium to almost full, but it's so light on the skin and sets to a velvet finish. It keep the shine under control most of the day and looks beautiful even after 10 hours on. I was matched to shade 45 at Sephora and it's perfect for me.
