I started getting terrible hives on my forehead when I was 14 years old and this was what my dermatologist suggested for me to use. 14 years later, it is still my favorite cleanser. No, it's not fancy. And no, it's not luxurious but it keeps my skin healthy and clear. I do get seduced by more expensive cleansers and creams from time to time but inevitably, my skin will react and I always go back to Cetaphil. At around $10-$12 for 16 ounces, it's a great investment and lasts a long time. The best deal is to purchase this at Costco or Sam's Club, usually I get two 20 oz bottles for around $15.
I like to use this as a body wash in the winter when my very dry skin needs a soap-free cleanser. My favorite way to use this is almost like a mask in the shower, I'll pack on tons of product and gently massage in and after about 5-7 minutes (usually let it sit while I'm shampooing and conditioning my hair), I'll wash it off and my skin is so much softer. The dry flakes will be gone and any acne will have reduced in size and redness! Love this product so much, it will always be in my skincare routine!

I am really not a fan of cetaphil facewash. I used it because it is non medicated and I didn't want to further irritate my face while on some spot treatment products.
I didn't like the way cetaphil made my face feel. It seemed to feel dryer than it should while using a non medicated facewash and it irritated it a bit. I would literally rather use my dove soap then cetaphil. Cereve has worked a lot beter IMO
I cannot use any other cleanser for night time. I rub a quarter sized amount on DRY skin and either take a tissue to the eye area first to get the excess eye makeup off, or just go straight to rinsing with warm water. My skin feels clean and soft. Some people like cleansers that lather and Cetaphil makes a cleanser that does that looks just like this, but is labeled "for oily skin". I don't care for the lather on my face because it strips it too much. In the morning, all I need is warm water splashed on it and then I can start my day.
I first started using this when eczema started flaring up on my face around 10 years old. Using this helped soften and heal a lot of the inflammation. I decided to go back to it again sometime last year and for some reason, I started breaking out. I stopped using it till last month when I experienced a really bad sunburn. I did not want to use any of my other cleansers because I was afraid they may be too harsh on my sun damaged skin, so I went to this. I cleansed my face 2-3x with this. The first application smoothing it allover my face then wiping off. The second application was washed off. I repeated the process when necessary. No breakouts this time and my skin was left feeling comfortable! I just wish this could remove makeup. (One lippie off for that).
Highly recommended by some dermatologists. Many awards. I am puzzled somewhat because it does not remove make up well enough.

I used this product a when back when my skin started to get breakouts. It did nothing for my skin so I stopped using it. Therefore, I find that it does not help if you would like to treat acne.
Go forward a couple of years, my skin has improved. Still had small breakouts, clogged pores & redness. Because of the redness, I decided to start using cetaphil again. It has definately calmed down my skin and I now use it day & night. My redness is gone and no more breakouts so I will be sticking to this because I know it is gentle and I do not want to damage my skin.
However, a con to this is that it does not remove make-up well.
At least I know there is something I can fall back on!
its alright
i like more of a sudsy cleanser to really lather it up
this feels like just water no lathering was accomplished and my skin felt so tight afterwards
will not buy again

Gentle, effective cleanser that doesn't strip away your skin's moisture - just what a cleanser should do! I should know better than to try other products for the 'fun' of it (or out of curiosity I suppose). Actually it was not so fun, as the QV face gentle cleanser killed my skin. Even the Shiseido extra gentle cleanser was a bit harsh on my sensitive skin. Cetaphil really is the only cleanser after which my skin feels clean but not dry or battered (after harsh cleansing).
For reference, I have sensitive, acne-prone, combination skin in a dry climate, and on occasional retinoid creams.
P/s: I however do not use this to remove makeup, so I'm unable to provide any opinion on that. I still believe in removing makeup thoroughly with a designated cleanser / remover as I don't want to leave any chance for residual makeup to linger around!

I have been using this product along with the Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating lotion and I have been absolutely blown away by the results. I have dry, sensitive skin and this has worked wonders for my face. For best results I use the cleanser with my Olay Pro X Advanced Cleaning system (for those who don't know what it is, it is a similar device to the Clarisonic systems except waaaaaay cheaper) and my face literally glows when I am done. Not only did the dry flakes on my skin disappear but so did my whiteheads. Now the only pimples I get are hormonal and even they are fewer, less severe and don't even last very long like they used to (some pimples wouldn't go away for months, now they barely last a few days). I am in love with this cleanser, new hg product hands down!
I have been on a long and hard search for the perfect cleanser for my sensitive skin. Before using this I was strictly using The Body Shop's seaweed line and it really wasn't doing anything great for my skin, and you know what I think it was what was making me break out so often. I guess I enjoyed the clean squeaky feeling it gave me but it was drying me out WAY too much. Anyway back to this cleanser, oh my goodness I was expecting it to be a bland and boring cleanser that was nothing special. I was wrong because after using this my skin has cleared up significantly and it doesn't dry me out at all! I don't really get the squeaky clean feeling that I oh so adore but that's fine because this is so much more gentle on my face and I look way more radiant because of it. I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a cleanser that works well on sensitive acne prone skin and doesn't want to spend a fortune!
