I have been using this for the past for years & nothing out there compares with it! This is the only cream that heals my dry, cracked hands. I only apply it at night but I find I don't need it during the day because it is so moisturizing.
It is a bit costly ($17 CDN) but I decided trying less costly creams & wound up spending even more in the long run, buying several creams that just didn't work.
This really works. continued >>
I only had a sample of this product, as the store was out. The sales person said that they were having problems keeping it in stock because of high demand.
I think that it is one of the most excellent hand creams that I have tried. I love the texture and the non-greasiness. I also don't mind the patchouli scent.
Since they were out, I ended up buying Weleda - Skin Food. Which is great hand cream too. I think that the two are comparable in quality and effect.
i think this is a very good hand lotion. It mousturizes well, i don't think its greasy. I like the smel(tho it is 'earthy'l, i always have, i used to shoplift it in high school. ha. definently a life long love.
After trying several crappy hand lotions I got a sample of this and threw it in my bag. I started using it now that it's winter and noticed a difference immediately! The texture is incredibly fluffy and it glides on like silk. The aroma is mild and doesn't make a difference to me at all since it's so effective at keeping my hands moisturized. Hands down one of the best lotions and I definitely went back to stock up on the regular sized tubes!
This cream is very moisturizing but also feels a little greasy. The hemp scent is very strong and might take getting used to. Overall, it's average... but I won't buy it again.
I think they might have changed the fragrance recently, because it smells much more neutral than I remember it smelling when I first tried this cream back in 2000. While I’m always looking for the next best thing in hand creams, this is one of my favorites. I don’t have to wait long after applying it to start handling things again, and the smell is no longer overpowering. It is wonderfully thick yet fast absorbing, and its effects last quite a long time. My only gripe is the metal tube; as the supply gets low I have to roll the tube, which begins to split open in some places and requires me to carry it in a ziploc bag. The price is a little steep, but I spend more on my Couvent des Minimes hand cream and I think this is just as good. I highly recommend this.
This is an AMAZING hand cream! I've been devoted to this cream for years! Definitely my HG of hand creams!
I am a clean freak; I often use cleaning products without any gloves. Plus, in winter time, my hands gets so dry, to a point where it cracks and bleeds.
I've tried everything before I found this hand cream, from L'Occitane's Shea Butter Hand Cream to Neutrogena's Norwegian formula... They helped, but nothing compared to TBS' Hemp Hand Protector. After just 2 applications of this cream makes my rough, bleeding, cracked skin feel all-so-smooth again! And it does wonders on my hangnails!
At first, it was very oily. But I've found that if I use it right after washing my hands, it doesn't feel oily at all! Plus, even when I wash my hands afterwards, I still feel moisturised!
The smell did put me off at first. But for what it does to my hands, it's soooo worth it! And when I use it right after washing my hands, it really isn't all that bad for me!
The only thing that comes REMOTELY close to being as good as this one, is a paste that a friend's mom made out of real hemp!
I have used this product for years. It's the best overnight hand cream I have ever used. I'm a visual merchandiser so I'm constantly lifting and using my hands so I get dry, cracked hands often. This clears everything up immediately and it's not too greasy. It smells great to me-- very earthy/herbal-- but I know some people might not like the scent. Other than that, this is a home run product, definitely an HG!
My sister and I get dry skin in the winter, so much so that our knuckles will crack and bleed TBS Hemp Hand Protector is THE moisturizer we use to combat that. It is the single most moisturizing moisturizer I have ever used. The foil packaging is sort of a pain when you get to the tail end of the tube - and I once had one get punctured and leak everywhere, but it's so good that I don't care.I don't know what ingredients make this so much better than the Hemp body butter (which isn't bad, but not as good as this!), but this stuff is the HG hand moisturizer.
Pros: heavy duty creme; even used it on my face (sparingly) and my skin was well hydrated; best hand cream I've used - very moisturizing.
Cons: didn't like the smell, I have to clean the tube because it gets greasy from squeezing out the cream - pump would be better; hands stay greasy for 20mins before I can pick things up etc.
Overall: great for dry winters and I'd repurchase if I couldn't find a better cream.
