deep plum/rasberry color with dark reddish shimmer. I like to use this for the daytime when i want to deepen the outer crease color but not make it too dramatic for school/work. This color looks great with pinks/golds/browns so far that I have tried.
MAC has its hits and misses, as we all know. This is definitely on the hit side. The color is a dark plum, the texture is smooth and fairly pigmented, and the finish is matte. The exceptional qualities lie in the very, very good staing power and the subtleness of the shade. I can and do add this in the outer V to almost any eye look, and it makes my eyes appear way wider and bigger. The shade is just neutral enough to dissapear into the other shadows and just look like natural darkness. Some complained about blendability, but I think it is exactly as blendable as necessary for its purpose. The edges can be made vague and soft (to avoid the harsh, unblended look), but the shadow can't be made to travel somewhere you didn't put it. Excellent shadow!
I've finally found my HG eye shadow!
Today I went into MAC asking for some shadows which would help give me a smokey eyed look. I was originally checking out the black shadows, but the SA suggested a purple colour to compliment my green eyes.
She started off by lining my upper lid with some kohl liner, then blending it with the 224 brush so it created a base for my lid. She then took Sketch & blended it over my lid & crease with both the 224 & 217 brush...after that she lined my water line & just underneath that with the black eyeliner....it looks so perfect! To think I was planning on buying 2 or 3 shadows to create a smokey look - now I've got the look with only one shadow & a eyeliner pencil!
This colour will really bring out the green in your eyes; it makes mine look so fabulous. The colour blends perfectly & has a velvet texture - I must also add that I think this colour is MUCH more flattering than black eye shadow.
I got this for £10, which is a good price for such an amazing product. The colour is like a dark purple - you can put it on for a sheer look or build it up so it gets more intense....it's so versatile.
I will definately repurchase this. In fact, I think I'll rush & get some more tomorrow! Excellent product, cannot fault it in the slightest. continued >>

This e/s is underwhelming in the pot and doesn't look terribly wearable--it's a plum or burgundy shade, the texture is Velvet which is nearly totally matte IMO. Sounds like a bruisy eye waiting to happen, right? Wrong. I probably reach for this e/s more often than anything short of highlight shades. It is heaven on my blue eyes, and seems to apply less warm than it looks, but it's also quite versatile for warm pink looks, for example. With a good brush it applies and blends quite easily. I wear it with browns, other purples, mauves, taupes for a kick, and that's just for starters. This is a gorgeous e/s, highly recommended and I will definitely repurchase when I run out.

This was one of the first 3 colors that I bought from Mac, it's okay it's matte purple, doesn't blend all that well.
I use Sketch to enhance my more neutral colors and it gives it a little pop. Put a little sketch in the corners of your eyes and viola! you've created a great look.

I know some ppl might hate me for saying this, but I gotta say it :"Sketch hates me!! It's my least favourite MAC e/s"...
The color makes my eyes look tired (maybe I should stick to cool colors). I tried to make this thing work on me, but the color looks horrible on me. And not to mention, the velvet finish, I can't stand it~ Is there anybody else who dislikes VELVET finish just like me???
I bought this along with Shroom and Woodwinked (see my review for both) as my first MAC eyeshadow purchase. The Makeup Artist took me from day to night with this shadow. She told me for day I can wear Shroom+Woodwinked and then to take it to night just add Sketch on the outer corners. It really does make a difference. I haven't used it alone since it seems to look really dark on my light skin. But maybe I will try after reading some of the reviews here. I think it also looks good as a liner. I barely made a dent on this after having it so I will not be repurchasing anytime soon.

This looks just so perfect in the pan, dark burgundy with burgundy flecks. It wears more dark purple but can go burgundy as well. I love to wear it with a purple or grey smokey eye, and also love it over Artifact paint pot for a nice burgundy smokey eye to set off my green eyes. I love the texture and even though it can be tough to blend at times, it's worth it as it's a really versatile shade. It's great for a daytime look as a liner or crease shade. I use it a ton and would rebuy.

This is my favorite eyeshadow! It looks questionable in the package (a bit dark!), but when I put it on it blends nicely and looks lovely with my skin tone. I use it in the crease or to soften the edges if I'm doing a smoky eye. It goes with everything and blends well with all my other shadows, which is why I use it so much. Like all MAC eyeshadows it's highly pigmented but the color is completely wearable and I would definitely recommend this as a staple in anyone's makeup bag!
