First off, I hate the packaging. This pump bottle design is the worst ever - it dispenses very little at a time and requires a lot of pressure to push down. The locking mechanism is a joke.

As for the product itself, I really wanted to like it as I purchased it based on the rave reviews here, but after a full month of use I decided it's not for me. I didn't enjoy the smell, and while it lathered normally, my hands and face felt slippery and unnatural after I used it, almost as if it left a very thin film on the surface. Lastly, while I don't think it caused any harm, it did nothing to improve my combo, breakout happy skin. Which is surprising, because it definitely dried my cheeks out! It just goes to show there's no product for everybody! continued >>

This is a great value since it's the same exact product as Purpose Cleanser. I think this cleanser and the Purpose version are GREAT for young, very oily, acne-prone skin. I loved this cleanser and the Purpose one from age 16-22, but had to switch to Cetaphil eventually when I got older and my oil glands calmed down a bit. It is a very thorough and basic cleanser but it does contain a sulfate, which I can't use anymore even on my body. I am a Retin-A user (always have been) but now at 28 my skin is combo-dry instead of super-oily, so I have to use extremely gentle cleansers like Cetaphil or Origins Pure Cream, and I have even used Albolene in the winter. This cleanser is excellent, but not for me anymore. I do highly recommend it to younger and much oilier skins, and those on lighter acne medications. If you have any problems with flakiness or tightness this will exacerbate that.

This cleanser really irriated and dried out my already sensitive skin. I was really disapointed because to me Neutrogena means pure, lol
I won't repurchase.

Good cleanser. I was looking for a gentle, non-irritating cleanser to take off concealer and stuff. It works great for that. But I haven't found it to really improve my skin that much, you just need to find a good routine! And this one works for mine!

This is my HG facial cleanser. This has the exact same ingredients as Purpose Gentle Cleaning Wash. I find that it does not strip my normal to oily skin completely of moisture. I took a lippie off packaging quality because the pump cracks after about a week of use.

i liked this cleanser until i started getting little tiny bumps all over my face. probaly from the fragrance in it. eucerin aquaphor gentle wash is a much better choice.

Yuck. Too drying on my sensitive skin and left a film on my face. It was too stripping for my skin. I usually stick to a moisturizing cleanser that doesn't lather, and this was just too "soapy."

My favourite cleanser out of all the ones I've tried so far. I have dry and sensitive skin that reacts badly to other cleansers, which left me with red and itchy patches on my cheeks and forehead. This cleanser cleared it all up, and it's so gentle and not drying at all. It's also inexpensive. The only thing I don't like is the pump that occasionally leaks water into the bottle, so don't leave it in your shower. I'll definitely buy this cleanser again and again.

EDIT: This cleanser did an excellent job until I moved on to Cetaphil, which is less drying. While this cleanser is still great, I just can't stand the fragrance and the foaminess anymore.

I used to use this for awhile. I constantly jump around trying new cleansers. It does remove makeup well & is a great dirt cheap basic cleanser. My husband is now using this. He requests it whenever it gets low so it seems to be good for him. He uses it in the morning & Neutrogena Fresh Foaming cleanser at night. I would recommend to the ladies if you want a good cleanser that will take makeup off & your husband can use it too! continued >>

I think this is the only sensitive skin cleanser out there that removes makeup completely. Even Revlon Colorstay! I've been using it for months on my oily, sensitve, acne-prone skin. Cheap and it works.
