I was interested in this product, but never purchased it. My friend however gave me hers because it was too dark for her skin.
Regardless of the BB vs Tinted Moisturizer debate it applies like a TM. It is very sheer coverage, and blends into the skin very well. Be careful not to use too much or else it will look greasy. I found that it didn't have that great of staying power.
I use this, put concealer on and then a bit of powder in my t-zone for a more natural look. It is nice for winter when I want more moisturizing products.
I wish it contained SPF though.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants a very sheer coverage and has dry skin.
Way too orange and dark for my skin so i could not even use it :/
This is the only BB cream I've tried, so I have nothing else to compare it to. It was okay. I used to use it for work when I worked in the fast food industry. It was pleasant, decent coverage for a BB cream and it seemed to last well in a kitchen environment. I bought this so I wouldn't have to waste any of my good foundations and thought it would be a little better for my skin. I thought it was okay, but I like to feel like I have something on my skin. Although I have nothing to compare it to, I just think BB creams aren't for me, so I wouldn't buy this again. If I was to buy a BB cream again I'd try another one.
This is ok. It looks nice when putting it on and blends nicely as well. The only problem is the staying power doesn't seem all that great. Its more like a nice "tinted moistourizer". However it does make a great body makeup for legs if blended with a bronzing lotion.
I am NC 20 with pink undertones and this product was god awful!
First of all I feel it gave off orange on my skin. Second its super greasy and I felt like I was wearing a mask. And the smell is terrible. Will not reprchace.
My friend recommended this product to me because she swears by it. I was intrigued but didn't run out to buy it because I never tried BB creams before. I was at the drugstore one day and saw it on the shelf. I usually don't buy until I read reviews but I completely bought this on a whim based on how much my friend loved it. When I got home and read the reviews on here I almost went back to the store to return it without even trying it. The reviews here are terrible and from what I understood anyone with oily skin can completely forget about using this BB cream. My skin is mostly oily but gets somewhat dry in places especially in winter. My skin isn't a big issue - I have minimal scarring and spots, little redness, and an occasional break out here and there. Its very sensitive to new products so I was very iffy about trying something new.
Something told me to give this a shot anyway. I applied it from the tube with my finger dotting it all over my face with a flat top buffer brush from Crown that was a little damp. The first thing I noticed was the scent - it was very strong but smelled Garnier products which I don't mind. Consistency seemed kind of like a thick moisturiser and not watery at all. On the first coat, my skin looked flawless. I applied a thin 2nd coat and I looked completely airbrushed with no caking whatsoever. My skin was evened out and it looked natural. I found this product very buildable and the coverage is fantastic for me (like I said before I don't need a lot). I also found it very light on my skin and very moisturising! I apply concealer under my eyes and set it all with a translucent loose powder from Marcell.
Now here's where I am an exception to this product and oily skin. I wore this all day (to work, running, a nap, etc) and I was only the slightest bit greasy in my t zone but nothing extravagant. I usually always get oily after 8+ hours and have to blot/touch up no matter what kind of products I use. So, this oily skinned girl didn't have an issue with this product. When I wipe this off at night, I can see product coming off my face onto the cloth (I have used other products that are completely gone off my face before I wipe it off) so it did last all day for me. I'm not sure if its my powder that's keeping everything in place but it was still visibly on my face at 11:00PM. The colour of the light/medium matches my skintone perfectly. You get a lot of product in the bottle and I can imagine this will last me for a long time. The best part is my skin didn't mind this product at all! I've been using this for a good while and haven't gotten a single break out (I tried a tinted moisturiser and my face last year and I completely broke out everywhere)!
I took away one lipstick because this was $20 at my drugstore. That's pretty pricey for a BB cream (the Revlon and L'Oreal were under $20 just as an example). My Revlon Colourstay Foundation isn't even that much so it was a bit on the expensive side for me. It also only comes in 2 colours so there is not much of a selection for the skintones in between light and dark and that could be a problem for other people. I've been wearing this on a daily basis to work and on the weekend and I am loving it. If I don't find another BB cream I love, I would definitely repurchase this when I run out. I hope girls with oily skin who are wondering about this product see my review and give it a try.
This was the first BB cream I ever tried. Light/Medium is too dark for me and the formula seems really greasy. What it really is, is a tinted moisturizer with a little bit of SPF. For a few more dollars you can get much better Asian BB creams from Amazon. Will not repurchase.
I use this everyday as a liquid concealer, and I`m sure that`s not how it`s supposed to be used, but oh well.
I started out using this as a foundation, and I just gave up because even with primer, it lasted for about five minutes.
Two weeks after that, I just put it under my eyes, and around the red spots over my foundation, and boom, perfect concealer.
I adore using this product, and it matches my skin tone perfectly.
There are some important things to keep in mind when buying this BB cream. I think it works best with dry skin and possibly normal but most likely it will be way to greasy looking for oily or combo skin. I happen to be on the dry/normal side so I like the dewy finish it leaves.
Second, if you are looking for a lot of coverage then a BB cream in general is not for you because the American BB creams are more like glorified tinted moisturizers. If you have never tried a BB cream and you try something like this and you don't like it, I wouldn't make any assumptions that all BB creams are like this. A traditional BB cream such as what you get with the Asian brands are different than the ones produced now in the US.
What I like about this Garner product is the way it applies so smoothly and a little goes a LONG way. I am light/medium MAC NW25 for reference but I can use the medium/dark in this product as well because it kind of blends into my skin throughout the day and both shades look pretty natural on me. It has a clean and pleasant smell, nothing too offensive or anything. I like to use it as a base before I apply mineral foundation or airbrush makeup. I also like that it has SPF15. The price is around $12 or $13 which is pretty good for how much product you get and how long it lasts.
Best of all, it doesn't break me out. I can't use products with silicone which eliminates just about every liquid face product on the market so I am so happy to be able to use something that I like that won't break me out! UPDATE: this product does contain silicone which I overlooked!
Overall, stay away if you are oily or combo. Even normal skin may think its too greasy but if you're dry and you don't expect miracles from a BB cream, give this a try. Some people love it and some hate it, but you should go by your own experience.
My new favorite. A first for me as a BB cream does remind me of a tinted moisturizer.definitely recommend
