This product provides good definition and separation and average lengthening. I cant tell and length growth stimulation.
FYI: I have straight, average lashes and I want a mascara that doesn't clump, lengthens/defines, volumizes slightly, isn't a pain to remove or take forever to apply, and holds a curl. I've been using this mascara for a few months and I really like it! The tapered, plastic bristle brush is a good size (not too big), the slightly more watery/creamy formula glides on with minimal to no clumps (no clumps when it's fresh, starts to get a LITTLE clumpier after a couple months), and it really seems to lengthen my lashes! Not as good as waterproof mascaras at holding a curl, but it doesn't completely straighten out my curl either (I guess it does kind of make them droop especially over the course of the day, but better than some mascaras I've tried that literally droop/straighten my lashes the instant I put the mascara on). The color (blackest one) is very black. I mostly like it because it seems to really be "healthy" for my lashes with all the ingredients it has that claim to lengthen lashes. I think there's castor oil in it which is moisturizing and I think people put straight castor oil on their lashes for growth/health, so maybe that's what makes this mascara good for lash growth? I do use L'oreal Lash Serum at night, so my lash growth/health could be partly due to that too. Also, this mascara has an expiration date on it- says 12 mths, so if it doesn't get too clumpy, it's good to know I can still safely use it for more than the 3mths mascaras are supposed to last for. I know I like this mascara because I am actually going to repurchase it instead of look for something else! But the search for the HG mascara will probably never really end...
I bought this mascara to see if it actually works. Ive been using it for about 4 weeks now and yes my lashes have grown! Alot of people complain that it takes forever to dry but it literally takes only 5 minutes, no big deal. The wand is awesome and thin and my favorite wand Ive had out of all my mascaras. Just putting the mascara on adds lots of length, no volume but length is definitely there when you put 2 coats on. Still going to continue using it to see how long my lashes get in 1 month! (:
Pros:
- DOES grow out lashes, and prevents loss of lashes
- Lengthens lashes
- No clumps
- Easy application
- Holds a curl
- Doesn't smudge
- Easy to build up without clumping or getting "spider lashes"
- Makes lashes look "feathery"...don't know a better word. -.-
Cons:
- Not much volume
All in all, a great everyday mascara. I use two coats, and my lashes look significantly longer and more luxurious. At the end of the day, the mascara has still held my curl, and I have no smudging. Will definitely purchase again! : D

I like this product as a mascara--I am very skeptical of anything that claims to make lashes longer, thicker, etc., but I've heard good things about Rimmel's mascaras so I bought it to try it out as a mascara rather than a lash growth product. Overall, I like it. With one coat it lengthens and separates really well for a very natural look. It isn't so great at thickening, and takes a bit longer than other mascaras I've used to dry, but I take that opportunity to apply a second coat. Note: with the second coat you can get some thickening, but the mascara does tend to clump. Also, it can sometimes flake towards the end of a long day, so watch out for that.
As far as the growth product--as I said before, I'm skeptical--my lashes MAY be SLIGHTLY longer (as in I can't tell if they actually are or if I'm just deluding myself), but don't count on it. In any case, I feel like the ingredients are more formulated as a conditioning agent than a true growth serum. Will probably buy again.

So I am really critical about mascaras and I have to say I really love this one.
I have small deep set eyes and fairly short lashes. I find this mascara is amazing and dramatic!
I use a lash curler first then apply one coat (zigzag) on each eye then go back and start a second coat with more pressure doing the zig zag and I have no clumps. Not only do I not have clumps but my lashes do not droop halfway through the day.Meaning it holds curl well. I must also add that many mascaras, including waterproof leave black smudges on my upper eye area. This one has yet to do it.
I can not say much about lash growth as I have only been using this for three weeks.

Good Day Readers,
For those of you who have not read any of my reviews before,I just want to add that for the purpose of reviewing this product or any other product,I generally never read any other reviews prior to writing.I also try to use the product for at least 3 months,so that I can give a product a chance to display its performance as well as being able to review a product constructively.
Firstly I have not examined the product's accelerating performance, this is due to the fact that I do not believe that any such product can possibly deliver. That is my own personal opinion.
Okay, moving on to the review...the mascara defined my already long lashes,I feel it accentuated them and offered immaculate separation.I applied on my upper and lower lashes, the brush reached each one of my lashes.I also have a few "lazy" lashes on the ends of my outer lashes, this mascara reached those few lashes and coated them with the mascara and ALMOST lifted them completely.I gave these lashes a touch more of a hand to lift them more. The result was amazing!
I tend to use mascaras in rotation and keep my high end mascaras for every other day,so it is almost like a treat day.
Just for a quick comparison, the high end mascara missed my lazy lashes. This is my first Rimmel mascara, and it was recommended by a friend,so I thought I would see how it performed.
When I take the mascara wand out of its tube,it has an even coating of the mascara formula,I have no need to remove any excess product at all.I just take the wand out,and immediately apply.
In all my time of applying mascara,it was the first time that I had experienced this,I believe in terms of definition and separation, this mascara is a personal winner.
The mascara did not clog, smudge or flake during the course of my personal use.
I think we all look for different things in a mascara, and unfortunately I have not come across a mascara that does every thing. It is trial and error, and Thank fully this site allows you to make a judgement prior to purchase.
I think it is important to think about what you are looking for in a mascara before you get to the point of sale as there are so many available now.As soon as one is launched another company will bring out another, thus it can make it very confusing for the general consumer. There is an awful lot of competition out there, and companies are constantly aiming to get to the high end level of a product.Which means that you can get away with not having to spend too much on a mascara. In terms of shelf life it is more economical to purchase a drug store mascara which is on par with a high end mascara. If you really are, looking for volume in a mascara, this one is definitely not one for you.I would also like to add that this mascara also performed well on an extremely bad day which is very personal to me.There was only a minimal amount of "rush" of water on the lower lashes and the upper lashes remained perfect.Fortunately the mascara did well on a day where I was not really testing it.
This is a fantastic drug store mascara, with all things considered in this review. This mascara will definitely remain in my stash, for use in my rotation.I hope it works for you as well as it has for me.
You will love the fact that you can immediately apply in the morning without going through the usual routine of taking off excess product prior to application. One coating will give a very natural finish, when I built up the mascara to 4 layers it appeared like my eyes were a "focal" point in an overall look. The forth or fifth layer will begin to affect performance, although you normally would get a decent look well before then.I merely, did that to totally take the mascara to its full limit.
It would also be beneficial to curl your lashes with a lash curler prior to application. The Shu Uemura is one of the best, however I am sure you can find another that will perform as well if you are on a budget.
Curling your lashes really does make a huge amount of difference to the overall look.I always refer to this mascara as a "brush and go".
Hope this is beneficial in your personal search. Please do bear in mind that whilst one product works for one person,it may not work for another. Some times it is the brush that does all the work and not necessarily the formula.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review.

I was in the need of some more mascara, saw this at the drugstore, and thought why not? It wasn't too expensive, about what you would normally pay for a drugstore brand mascara. I didn't know what to think about the claims, I figured I'd find out eventually if it actually improved the lashes.
The mascara itself is kind of wet, and I always get it underneath and above my eyes when I apply it. I do like the wand though. It's a simple wand and isn't too big or too small. The formula didn't make my lashes look amazing, nor long and thick, but instead a pretty average look. Smudges a bit throughout the day, which I hate. Nothing is worse than having dark gunk under your eyes.
As for the accelerator part? I think this mascara might have strengthened my lashes, because I've noticed less lash loss during makeup removal and such, but I really don't think it has lengthened, thickened, or given me more lashes. I honestly didn't expect it to do too much in that area anyway. But the fact that I'm losing less lashes is very nice. Overtime, that fact does make lashes looks thicker.
For the price, it's not that bad of a deal. If it was anymore expensive, I would not purchase it. However, I have had better results with L'Oreal Double Extend with Lash Boosting Serum. The formula gives you really nice long lashes and it has better staying power, in my opinion.

I try every mascara under the sun if it says "NEW". I am always searching for that great product that will perform as advertised. I lost all of my lashes while taking chemo and have desperately been seeking something that would help with lash growth when they did finally begin to grow back in. My lashes were nothing but stubs when I began using, but after using for a month my lashes were longer. I'm sure this is also in part due to natural lash growth, but they seemed to be longer than before I lost them. I love the appearance of my lashes after applications. Other mascaras after several applications looks caked on in layers. Rimmel Accelerator does not do this and lashes look nourished. I do wish it would provide more volume. I will buy again and would suggest to any patient that loses their eyelashes through treatment.
