It is by far the best concealer I've ever used. My favourite SA at Sephora highly recommended this product to me, and I was throughly satisfied with it. It has a smooth consistency and full coverage. I use #6 which is perfect for medium skin tone. A little goes a long way. I've been using for almost two years now, and I just started my second tube.
The price is high. However, considering you only use a little at a time, it's not reasonable.
I was introduced to this product by a YT guru whom I trust very much. She told us we would not be disappointed (despite the price) and I am so glad I got it! I was looking for my perfect concealer and finally have it! I'm actually a MAC fanatic and this is my first ever HG product! I love this concealer hands down but there are a few things to address....
-It definitely has full coverage. I don't have acne scarring but instead have hyperpigmentation spots on my cheek areas, which is where I apply this concealer. I'm in school and don't have a lot of time...everyday is pretty much: wake up, wash face, skincare routine, then sunscreen and this concealer and setting powder. I don't bother with foundation anymore, this concealer does the trick and trust me! Before finding this concealer, I would not go out without my full coverage foundation! This concealer gives me a couple more minutes to sleep in!
-Someone mentioned the fact that you need to blend as soon as you apply it on your face, which is very true. If you don't apply it and quickly blend it out on your skin it will dry and is super difficult to try and blend into your skin. Also, it does cake if you apply too much or don't blend well and want to add to more...does not look good. /:
-I obtained my concealer at Sephora and I'm very sure because of the lighting I was matched to a darker shade. I think everyone trying this concealer should have a rough estimate of your shade...or else you'll probably be given something that isn't your shade! I returned mine and got a shade lighter--8, I'm also an NC40.
-Price. Yes it's a bit....extreme. At the time I was debating between this and the Amazing Cosmetics concealer. I actually choose this one because the other was super thick in my opinion and it was not oil-free. I use concealer for my hyperpigmentation and my acne. Why would I want to put an oil based anything on my acne?! I don't understand why others do that....but anyways! I can honestly say that I use this product once everyday for the past year and a half (or even two years!) and I still have a bunch of product! It's worth the money, I promise!
-The squeeze tube is great! A small amount of released and at first it might be frustrating to not get the amount of product you are used to, but trust me, you don't need as much as you think!
EDIT: I reposted this review and deleted my older one because it has been brought to my attention the fact that this concealer "blocks out" my sunscreen. I went to my skin care counter and they took a picture of my face and blah blah....and they noticed some UV damage (which of course is expected for everyone) but my SA told me that I needed to put on sunscreen with at least SPF 30! I use an Asian sunscreen with SPF 50 PA+++ (which is basically an all day sunscreen). I told her that I put on my sunscreen and then my concealer.....which lead us to believe that the concealer might be covering up too much and not allowing my sunscreen to work--no matter how much time I let the sunscreen set. So....I'm a bit hesitant to start using this again...but I do love the coverage. ): Also, I have used this for more than a year....I want to say TWO years now that I have used this EVERY DAY, and I am still on my first tube!!! It's definitely worth the money if you want to try this out!
This concealer is a staple in my makeup bag! I love it. I've been using it everyday for about 2 months. The tube is very easy to use and sanitary i like that its not in a pot/jar. i use a moisturizer that's non-greasy as to not contribute to oiliness. I squeeze a very small amount on my middle or ring finger and pat it onto my under eye area and any blemishes or acne marks/scars (i cant help but pick at my face sometimes!). I don't use this on dark under eye circles so i can't comment on that but i still like to apply a bit of concealer to the under eye area, also i dont have wrinkles sooo..... I apply some to the sides of my nose and around the mouth to cancel any redness and it really covers my redness completely!! Nothing compares to this concealer it doesn't slide off my face or make my skin feel greasy at all, it stays put and coverage is buildable. My skin is light-medium. It matches my skin absolutely perfect, (its important to try makeup on in natural lighting** :) i have light skin with yellow undertones and some redness around my nose and chin. Also oiliness throughout the day i just blot it off with oil blotting sheets and my makeup looks fresh still. my powder foundation has more of a tendency to dissolve away as my face gets oily but my concealer stays put, thats why i love having this around and i use it everyday!! it hasn't clogged my pores, caused me any blackheads or broken me out. :)
UPDATE 4/26/12: This is HG. its been about 4 0r 5 months now i cant remember exactly when i started using it.. But its amaaazing, its smooth on my skin matches perfectly covers acne scarring and just looks like my natural skin and at the same time its very opaque. still has not caused me any breakouts or blackheads/clogged pores. And the best part is that it STAYS on all day.
Not for fair complexions - their lightest shade is really a medium tone. I have porcelain pink skin and their #1 concealer shade was really yellow. You don't hear a lot about it but us really fair girls have a hard time finding concealer and foundation light enough to match our skin tone. In most makeup lines the "fair" shade is always too dark. Why is that?
Even MAC doesn't have a NC5 concealer.
I love this concealer. It comes in a variety of shades, can be built to full coverage, and never looks oily or cakey on me. I think you get a fair amount of product for the price, and I love the simple squeeze- tube packaging. It allows me to get every little bit out with very little waste (looking at you, brush/ pen applicators!).
I really love this concealer! I use it for covering my dark spots caused by acne and my spots are extremely dark. Believe me! It covers up nicely. It does last nicely, but can crease a bit. I'm not sure about dark circles since I do not have them.
Covers up my bright red acne much better than what I used before - Maybeline Pure Cover Mineral Concealer, which I found actually highlighting my acne. The colour also matches perfectly~
Give it a 4/5 because it does look a little flaky when over-applying. You'd say "then don't put on that much", but than there is still some redness. I don't blame this on the product though; it's probably my technique that is lacking. (BTW, I set the concealer with Bourjous Bio detox perfecting powder)
This product works extremely well. I was tired of piling on layers of foundation in order to hide blemishes and discoloration so I went to Sephora and a very helpful sales associate matched me with Vanilla (I've never used a concealer before and was just using Estee Lauder's double wear foundation in Sand before this). It covers extremely well! The product is pretty thick so a little goes a long way, and it dries with a matte finish. I use a foundation brush to pat this on my problem areas and finish it off with bare minerals matte foundation. I wouldn't recommend using this for under eye circles, since it will end up looking pretty dry and cakey... but for dark spots and discoloration, this works perfectly! Expensive, but worth it.
I like this conceler but it is NOT FULL COVERege at all! i use it for my dark circle and it works well, but i have to add that i don't suffer from extreme dark circles...
it AMAIZING AS A EYE PRIMER. It brights up the colours so much an it holds in place because it is dry: give it a try if you have 30 euros spare!
