Smeared EVERYWHERE. I tested it by wearing it when I went skiing...I literally had black all over my face. I do love the brush it comes with, and it is a very pigmented black, however even when I'm not skiing and just wear it normally it transfers everywhere. No thank you.
I got this in brown and, sadly, the lasting power is not that great on my oily eyelids. After 2-3 hours it starts smudging, even if I use a primer. Good thing I got this on sale. Color is beautiful though, and very flattering for achieving more natural looks.
Great eyeliner but half the price of the higher end bands. The brush isn't bad either and the liner is totally build able depending how dark or light you want.
As far as gel pots are concerned, I would recommend this. It's the same results you will get with MAC or Bobbi Brown but at a much lower price. All other benefits and disadvantages are related more on the fact that it's a gel liner and not that it's Maybelline. It tends to dry out which makes it a pain to apply but that's the case with any brand. Just use baby oil on your brush and all will be well. :) The only reason why I won't but ths again is simply because I prefer eyeliner pens.
I wanted to find a cheaper alternative to my MAC Fluidline , so I tried this. Its very black, but my complaint is that it smudges especially on the waterline. I will stick with my fluidline which has an amazing lasting power.
Love this product; the consistency is great, you get a LOT of product and the brush isn't even that bad (unless you are going for a thin line, in which case you will want to purchase a seperate eyeliner brush). Best thing about this product is that you can make it as dramatic as you want, depending on colour and thickeness - I bought it in brown, which I put on with a thick wing at the end for daytime drama without going "over the top"...it's a great colour for anyone with blue eyes! Highly recommend; I will be buying it in black for nights out as well!
I have this in a navy blue color. I loved how creamy it was at first but the texture is a lot drier now after I've had it for 6 or 7 months. It is good but not any better than the Physician's formula or Essence gel eyeliners and those both cost less and are still usable after a year.
I don't really like the brush that comes with it either, the one that comes with e.l.f.'s cream eyeliner is in my opinion a lot better. I bought this in Italy for around 10 euros and I would repurchase if I didn't find any other navy eyeliner but there's no way I would buy this in black with all the great cheap eyeliners that are out there.
Can't comment on its lasting power because I don't have oily lids and most things last on me.
This is a very good gel liner for an affordable price, but it does dry out after a while and can set with a chalky finish when this happens. For this reason, I prefer L'oreal's Infallible because it stays creamy for a longer period of time and dries down a very bold black.
I have used Maybelline regular kohl eyeliners before with no problems. I purchased this one as the kohl usually smudges and looks like dark circles under my eyes. Regular liquid liners tend to irritate my sensitive eyelids. So, I hear gel liners were good for sensitive eyes. Not this one, though - my eyes itched and got red within a few minutes every time, and I had to go to the eye doctor for an irritation from this one as it caused severe redness and swelling. The Loreal gel eyeliner worked for me, though. This one was dark (I got the black as well as the navy) and had a nice brush and package, but terrible for sensitive eyes. A waste of $12 as I was only able to use it a few times.
I think this eyeliner is perfect! I would never use it without a cream base, or an eyeprimer, but this works so well. It goes on smoothly, but is also easy to remove. Doesn't smudge on me, even though I have oily eyelids.
I will repurchase this, it just works for me.
