My two cents: It is a very weak eyeliner but I say: Go grab this and use as a cream shadow. It's a flattering mid brown-taupe and is an excellent crease color for my nc40 skintone. It works well with All of my eyeshadows. It last forever on my crease and above. I think it should be remarketed as a shadow.
I can't believe some of these bad and angry reviews... I have tried MAC's fluidlines and Clinique's cream liner and my favorite is the Maybelline liner. I've only had it for two weeks, so I'm not sure how long I'll have it before it dries out, but overall I am impressed. It is more pigmented than both MAC and Clinique. It does have a drier texture so I don't think it would work well with fake lashes, like someone has said. Overall I think it is a great product. Yesterday I did winged eyeliner, then a couple hours later I went to the gym and afterwards my eyeliner was still perfect. After about 8 hours I do notice some fading.
The only reason I bought this is because MUA said it didn't suck. You guys owe me eight bucks. It smudges, disappears, irritates my eyes. The brush is too flimsy to apply the liner... Just another crappy Maybelline eye product IMO. I will never take a chance on them again--no matter what you guys say. The ELF one is better, the Physicians Formula ones are great... In fact, the cheap Chinese ones on Ebay are better. If you think this is a great gel liner, you need to get out more.
Hate this eye liner!!
Since L'Oreals HIP creme liner got discontinued I've been searching for something to replace it......this liner by Maybelline isn't it!!
I came across this and tried for 1month to give it a fair chance and imo its awful..
Initially it seem to have good pgment but then always fades on me with in 2 hrs after applying it...the staying power sucks bigtime!
This liner also gave me raccoon eyes..wich is not cute!
This liner doesn't deserve a lippie imo...
The only that was nice about this eyeliner was that it went on great & the brush it came with was ok..
All I know is if you plan on trying this liner seriously keep a mirror on you at all times!!!
So I recently got into makeup a year ago, and I needed to find a cheap solution for a gel liner. I didn't like pencil liners because I didn't know at the time that I could slightly melt the pencil with a blow dryer or a lighter so I can apply it more smoothly and I didn't want to try liquid liners because I was a newbie at putting on makeup in the first place and just sounded like a messy business. My cousin introduced me to gel liners and I looked online for the best drugstore eyeliner since I wasn't able to afford Bobbi Brown and M.A.C. I heard plenty of good things from Maybelline's and Wet N' Wild's gel liner but I ultimately chose Maybelline because I couldn't find Wet n' Wilds at my local Walgreens. Anyways, when I first tried this I was very disappointed because I expected this to last for a good while but after like, 3-4 hours it ends up transferring to the bottom half of my eye and gives me horrendous raccoon eyes....so I always have to wipe underneath whenever I wear this stuff. It also bunches in the corner of my eyes whenever I do decide to put it on the lower half of my eyes. I have oily skin so I can understand why that happens, However I wish there was a little bit more staying power with this gel liner. The gel liner is sometimes a little crumbly which means I also get fall out sometimes on my face which I don't think is supposed to happen with gel liners in general. I do love the brush that comes with it (which was why I gave the product 2 lippies), because it makes tight lining so easy, but it's not something that everyone really needs so if i knew how bad this gel liner was going to be I probably wouldn't have bought this despite the brush. I will definitely not be repurchasing and hopefully the Wet N' Wild will be a better investment than Maybelline's gel liner.
i've try this product when my sister bought this product.. what i don't like about this product is i had to take the product few times over and over again from the jar if i want to make it thick.. nice finishing but not easy to applied.. and the brush doesn't support the product well (for me).. after few hours, it's not too smudge but it's not waterproof on my eyes when i applied this on my waterline and gettin fade..
Nice, thick consistency. Unfortunately, I have oily Asian eyelids and when I tightline on my upper lashes with this, 6 hours later, I have racooon eyes and I have to constantly check my makeup to see if it's smudged all over my face. The one day that I forgot to bring my mirror with me was a nightmare...Anyways, would not recommend for Asians as it's difficult to get off if you only have water on hand and you're in a hurry.
UPDATE: Any day that I put on makeup, I do my best not to touch my eyes. I don't know whether my pot of this has dried up or what, but one day, it started flaking right onto my eye, which was painful and I basically had to fish out little black flecks from my eye. Thankfully, I wear disposable contacts, or it would've landed on my iris and hurt a lot more...
Its a cream not a gel. Waste of money, maybe good for a beginner. It is not very piggmented for liquid gel liner.
Highly pigmented however smudges terribly on my oily eyelids and even transfers down to my lower lash line. I did not have a problem with the product drying up because I always stored it upside down. The consistency is nice and creamy and sets to a matte finish. Unfortunately, it just isn't for me.
I've been using this product for 3 years and I absolutely LOOVVEE it.
It's definitely a better/more affordable alternative to the MAC fluidline and the Bobbi Brown Gel liner.
Its gel formula is super smooth on my eyes and doesn't fade/smudge over time even with my sometimes oily lids. The brush it comes from is also great for anything from a thin line to a dramatic cat eye.
Overall, an amazing drug store eyeliner.
