I usually love Neutrogena products, being a huge fan of their Rainbath line. Sadly, the Oil Free Acne Wash scrub didn't work out for me. I used it a couple of times and each time my face would break out in big red splotchy patches about 20 minutes after each use. If you have sensitive or combination skin, this may be too harsh for you. I don't know if its because my skin is just too sensitive for this product, or if the scrub contained something that I am allergic to. Needless to say I won't be repurchasing.

I have used this ever since it has came out. I thought it would have an annoying perfume-esque fragrance that would irritate my skin, but it has an amazing natural scent. For an exfoliant, it is very gentle on my skin. I always buy two whenever I go to Target or the drugstore so I don't have to take extra trips.
I didn't like it. The exfoliating bits are really rough, and it starts to burn your skin if you use it often. I have pretty mild acne, and this did absolutely nothing for it. The only reason I gave this 2/5 is because it smells AMAZING! I keep it around just for that reason :)
Im still testing out this product but so far, so good. After every wash my skin feels so smooth and has cleared a bit. Im still getting some breakouts near my chin/neck area but im waiting to see if it'll help the pimples heal faster or prevent more acne if i use the product longer.
got it from costco for a good deal, 2 big squeeze tubes.
will update this review when im done using the product!

I love this product! Its nice how it foams and is easy to rub but it really didnt do anything to my skin except make it very soft. I own other Neutrogena scrubs and this one is by far my favorite.
I wanted a new exfoliating scrub and so I tried this. It smells great, I don't know how others think it smells like vomit afterwards. I have really oily skin and after using this my skin didn't feel too tight. However it did make me a bit red. I don't recommend this as an everyday cleanser because well, it's a scrub. Maybe use it twice a week. This didn't help my acne, though my skin's pretty clear already with the exceptions of the occasional zits, and I just noticed it says "foaming". It doesn't...
I really love this scrub! It's so heavy-duty but it doesn't kill my sensitive winter-dry/summer-slick face. In the winter I could only use this maybe twice a week, now I can use it every day I workout and get really sweaty on my face. I use it as a body scrub, too, to GREAT results! I will definitely repurchase. I just wish this came in a pump instead of a squeeze tube for both shower and countertop use.
The Positive:
lovely smell
takes out the oil slick without zapping all the moisture out
great for the face and body
inexpensive and easy to find
The Negative:
the scrubbers are a bit large for the face
I used this product for two days and it completely dried my oily leaning combo skin out! The area around my mouth and nose was painful and flaking and my forehead, which never has problems, was on the way to that state before I realized what was wrong and stopped using the scrub. This is even after applying my moisturizer like usual.
I've never had a bad reaction to a salicylic acid or a scrub, and I've used Neutrogena's regular (orange) Oil-Free Acne wash for years without any problems. I think that it must be the grapefruit in it that is making my skin go haywire.
That being said, the product itself is very nice. If you add water it foams up nicely and provides for a gentle (physical) exfoliation because the foam gets very dense so the microbeads only lightly scratch the surface of your skin. The grapefruit scent is really authentic and smells nice, and the pink color is pretty (it looks good next to my Biore Pore-Unclogging Scrub, but it for sure is not staying there). It also washes off cleanly with no residue, and seemed to help my acne out, but the cons far outweighed the pros for this one.
TLDR: This scrub has the potential to be great, but be careful even if you don't have sensitive skin. Make sure to test it in an environment where you will know if it is causing problems for your skin.
I used this when it first came out. I only used it twice a week and loved it. The smell is chemically but I dont mind it. It is really strong I always had to apply a moisturizer after. But it worked well. If I saw a pimple coming on this helped a lot. This is nice for exfoliating your underarms and feet too the combo of salcylic acid and beads gets the job done. I probably would not buy it again just because I don't like using acne fighting ingredients on my face anymore
