I had eyelash extensions put in for my brother's wedding and was super sad to see them go. So when I heard about careprost, I had to check it out.
So. I'll update as I go.
Started with nubby and thinned out eyelashes due to my extensions. Right eye is worse than the left.
Had a couple nights of dry eyes. No other side effects.
Still get dry eyes some nights. Missed 1 night of application due to food poisoning. Applied mascara and you can see the fullness in my left lashes, where as my right are still sparse. But, I'm noticing that there are shorter lashes interspersed between longer ones, so I' m assuming it's the careprost trying to grow the lashes I ripped out with my extensions. Yay!!!!
So I think I see a difference. But it could be me really really wanting to see something.
More of the same. I'm starting to doubt that it works :(
But will keep going. Essentially I'm halfway there. I'm told I should start seeing results anywhere from the 6-8 week mark.
Fingers and toes crossed .
I love this product. I always get compliments on my lashes. When I am talking with people they keep staring at my eyes and then finally ask if those are really my lashes. I started of with Latisse the first time but when it was time for a new bottle I had to research.Through many reviews and sites found that many people switched to this product because of the price.I decided to give Careprost a shot. After 4 weeks, I see definite results! Length is coming back, lashes hold their curl and I'm growing more lashes. Results are just like Latisse in my opinion. The ONLY setback is the whites of my eye ball are a little bloodshot. I'm very careful to apply only to lashline, but something is aggrivating my eyes. I just use a little visine and its better. Totally not enough of a problem to make me stop. I love this stuff! Already placed my second order. :http://www.taraskincare.net/Careprost_Bimatoprost_Ophthalmic_Solution_p/12346.htm, and Fast Shipping only 2 days to my door.
11/26: My lashes continue to flourish! To someone impatient or expecting immediate false lash looking lashes, it may not be much, but I am so thankful at how nice my lashes are coming along and cooperating with this product. My favorite thing is that I am growing new lashes, to fill in any gaps that I had before. Yes, they are getting longer but they haven't reached that sweet spot that everyone raves about yet. I am purging items out of my stash to begin saving for my next order of careprost. I would rather part with many, many things than be without this. My eyes are still kind of red and my dark circles are still looking darker, but no one notices or cares all that much. My lashes have never been this healthy looking. My only complaint is how small the bottle is, the dropper is meh, and it does seem to go quickly. I have plenty left, I'm just anxious about having to reorder. My lashes are more curled, btw. Even without mascara, my lashes look more pronounced against my deeper set eyes.
11/17: Hi! I just wanted to remind you girls with downturned eyes to be careful with the application! Today I was having a weeeeird sensation like there was a hair stuck in my eye, and man...this stuff WORKS because there are LASHES growing on the very outer outer corners of my upper eyelid, and two or three were stuck in my eye!! :P I had to fish em out! Now to some of you ladies this would be scary or something, but I have NEVER had lashes grow in those places. And these weren't little stubs just coming in... it seems these new lashes had just snuck up on me outta nowhere! I'm pleased, to say the least. Yeah having lashes stuck in my eye sucked, but this is awesome! I'm growing NEW lashes. This is nothing short of a miracle! It has been a little over two weeks. I received the product in the mail on Nov 1st. Now it may be me, because I'm that girl who will shave her legs and have stubble the next AFTERNOON, will pluck her brows and have to pluck em AGAIN in a few days... Maybe my hair grows faster than most...who knows!? But I sure can't wait to see the super long length you ladies are raving about. For now, I'm thrilled at the extra frills being added to my outer corners, where my eyes need the most LIFT. :D
Hi goils! I'm leavin' a review for now, I'm into my second week of using this stuff. I'll let ya know my experience as far as the side effects and everything goes. More updates to come.
*****UNIMPORTANT YET RELEVANT INFO IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START**** My first issue was all the reviews on this page written by accounts with no activity except a single review, registered recently, logged in only once or not at all since leaving the review. Every one of these reviews were a vendor promotion, and I was terrified of ordering from a site that didn't take Paypal, or even worse, had fake, watered down or expired Careprost. It took me the longest time to finally buy the stuff even though I really wanted to because I just didn't know which site would be alright to buy from. One lady here on Makeupalley had it for like $45 PLUS shipping, and while that would have been 100% safe since everyone recommends her site, I knew I could get it cheaper elsewhere. I ended up just biting the bullet on Grow Lovely Lashes. It was like $35 shipped IIRC.
Like I said, I'm only into my second week and I'm already experiencing some side effects. Namely itchy lashline, "scaly" or "bumpy" lashline, reddened eyelids and it might be just me, but yeah, my dark circles do seem a little worse too (surprisingly, none of this bothers me... Armani Master Corrector #2 and Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly are working well as always!)
The itching is only mildly annoying and no one notices or cares about the rest. Doesn't affect my makeup application or anything.
The reason some ladies are experiencing itchy lashline and darker dark circles is because of blood vessel stimulation! This stuff circulates blood to the eye like mad. Obviously, hereditary dark circles will be worsened by this! The purple-blue hue you see is your blood vessels or somethin' like that! And do you know what happens when blood circulates in the scalp or anywhere else? HAIR GROWTH! That's why your lashes are comin' in so nice ladies :D
I *think* I see new growth, It seems like I have a few nice hairs coming in riiiiiiight above my lashline. One thing I'm pleased with...my lashes aren't coming out at ALL. I've lost maybe ONE since using this. Usually, two a week will fall out. I use mascara almost every single day, usually layering multiple formulas together, and SOMETIMES with those big bulky Essence lash powder fibers. Brutal! Yet my lashes remain :)
I'm excited and pleased! Nothing big happening, just thought I'd warn y'all about the fake reviews and just giving my first impressions. I only wish this stuff didn't come in a dropper. :(
I have used Latisse in the past and RapidLash. Did not see much improvement with RapidLash, I did with Latisse, but this is the generic. I would give it five stars if it worked quicker. Took about 4 weeks to see a big difference, saw some difference in the first two weeks. I am rather inpatient and wanted results right away. If you can hang on like I did, you will be very happy. I got two bottles on mylashesforless.com for like 58 bucks and free shipping. Good luck.
I'm asian and was born with very fine eyelashes. My friends who are using Careprost got unbelievable results from it so I started using it about 5 months ago. They recommended me to buy from crystalbeauty101 to get free shipping. My order of 2 bottles came with 4 eye-brushes, I believe each bottle comes with 2 brushes. Since I use a drop each eyelid nightly, a bottle lasted about 7 weeks. Honestly, the results came noticeable after my 3rd month. My eyelashes grew longer but not thicker, I'm blaming it on being asian who has been blessed with less eyelashes and yet it still provided me good results. However though, once I apply mascara, it looks like I'm wearing fake lashes. Mascara makes it dramatically thicker and longer as well. Just make sure that you gently wash it off before going to sleep to avoid falling off. Since I am done with the initial 4 month period, I only apply it now every other day or sometimes every 2 days. Now a bottle lasts me about 3 months, not a bad investment for $29 a bottle! It's like $10 a month to have nice long lashes you can call your own! :)
My sister came over a few months ago with loooong eyelashes. We are not blessed with this kind of eyelashes in my family! I thought she had found some wonderful new mascara (and not shared it with me). Nope, she started using Latisse. Of course - the wonderful, out-of-my-price-range product. So I started researching Latisse and it's active ingredient (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.03%). This ingredient is actually in an eye drop used to treat glaucoma, and the effect of longer lashes was discovered after patients reported it as a side effect. Along comes Latisse, and those with wimpy lashes can now have the long and thick ones they always wanted! Well, I want them too but paying $120 a month is just crazy. So after much, much more research I found careprost, which the is the generic version of bimatoprost. It has the exact same ingredients, at the exact same dosage as Latisse, but it's $25 instead of $120. After buying a bottle from My Lashes 4 Less, I started using it on September 20th. Trust me, I was skeptical. Not just about whether it would work, but I was also (but not enough to prevent me from trying it) a little worried it might actually affect my vision. So I put on my I'm So Vain face and started using it. No eye irritation, no eye lid darkening--no side effects. Whew, and I'm not blind! Just 7 weeks later, my lashes are NOTICIBLY longer and thicker. My husband even noticed, and he never notices anything. At this rate, my lashes will be ridiculously long after the 16 week period. I've used it every single night (this is very important)! The bottle comes with a applicator brush that works well. Bottom line: it works. It really works. I'll be ordering another bottle soon, before I run out. It's just silly to pay for Latisse, when this works just as well--and at a fifth of the price!
I checked universalonlinepharmacy but it's charging $13 for shipping and if I add tracking it's freaking $30. They stated free shipping worldwide on their website but once you're on there, they charge crazy amount on shipping! I'm assuming because they are located in India that's why shipping is so high. I called the 800 number but nobody answered the phone perhaps it's due to the time-difference. Has anyone legitimately ordered from them? Is it safe to use my credit card for countries like India or China? I heard multiple horror stories about fraudulent credit card charges from AllDayChemist. I just don't want this to happen to me so I make sure it's a legit online company first before I order.
The careprost is great because it is very cheap, works great. Before I used Latisse for growing eyelashes and it was very expensive. This careprost costs only one third of Latisse and I got from Universalonlinepharmacy.com
I'm a cosmetic critic and I study which product is good for skin type and so forth. When i came across Latisse, I just fell head over heels in love with the result of this product. However, price became an issue as a bottle last only 2 months. So I started googling a generic product. I found a few but Careprost is popularly used by everyone so I ordered and transitioned to the product in no time. That was 4 months ago, my lashes are still pretty amazing to this day. Didn't experience redness or irritation. I apply it every 2 days for maintenance. I get mine from crystalbeauty101.com, their customer service is very impressive, they get back to all my inquiries very quickly. They are located in u.s. which makes it easier to establish trust as far as using my credit card online. Plus I get my order within couple of days! Another thing, don't put the solution in the cap as it can contaminate the solution in the bottle. Apply a drop of Careprost directly to the brush and make sure you wash the brush before and after every use. Also, applying morning and evening doesn't expedite the results, so just apply it every night after washing the face and when it's free of any make up. I hope my review helps a little :)
What can I say, but I LOVE this stuff! I am a lash fanatic and this gives me ridiculous lashes - long and dark and thick!!! I save so much time since I don't have to take forever putting on mascara - 1 or 2 quick coats and they are crazy long and thick!!! I saw results at about 4-5 weeks and now 2 months later I am super impressed. No irritation, redness or other side effects. I took the advice here and made my own brush by cutting an old eyelash brush waaaaaaaay down so it was super skinny and rather short. I put 1 drop in the cap and apply to lashes and brows (1 drop is plenty for all). Then cap and brush with baby shampoo and rinse. Super quick and amazing results! I now use every other day and have kept the same results. Try it you will love it!!!!!
P.S. Ok, so I feel obliged to mention that yes, the eyelashes do not grow out looking exactly like false lashes. Some are longer than others, etc. I find no problem and just do a quick curl (bought an ELF curler and love it; never needed one before!) and mascara to even them out. Looks much more natural this way anyway.
