Update: I used this for a week straight and noticed some clogged pores on my nose and cheeks. No bumps or blemishes yet but I'm going to stop using it. It contains cheap ingredients (including the controversial paraffinum liquidum/mineral oil) and I just don't think it's worth using anymore. Re-rated to 3 lippies.
I find this is good to use with Estee lauder's double wear foundation. This gets slightly oily throughout the day, and Double wear is an extremely dry foundation... so when I use the two together it makes the foundation look less matte.
This has good reviews on acne.org for being a safe moisturiser for people with acne prone skin. So far I've used it on the few occasions I've worn foundation and it's not caused me any problems. I have extremely clog prone skin and after one day of using most moisturisers, I'll have clogged pores all over my cheeks. I can't say for certain this will never cause acne, but at least for infrequent use it is really great. I'll update here once I've used it more often.

leaves my face so shiny it's actually ridiculous, my skin feels moisutirsed but you can touch my skin n slide some of the moisture off basically it's not that light, also the shinyness doesnt help when my tzone is already extremely oily... oh i just hate this moisturiser and another thing i do believe it doesnt have any spf... .. great bottle though last forever
I would ideally give this a 2.5 out of 5 - on the one hand it is gentle but on the other hand I swear something about this product leaves a really shiny film over my face. Not a good look!
This product would be fantatsic for those that don't mind mineral oils on their face. I love everything else about it! It is readily available and the price cannot be beaten, even the packaging is great, as it is in a squeezable bottle. I hate face creams in unhygienic tubs or tubes which dispense too much product or leak. The moisturiser is a light lotion that is fragrance free and spreads over the face like water. It hydrates my skin surprisingly well, and I feel soft all day. However, it does leave a dull layer on my face, as all products with paraffin tend to do and immediately leaves me with the shiny nose of death. It also has mica in it, which leaves my face slightly shimmery, which isn't really to my taste. I bet it makes a great body moisturiser though. For reference my HG is St Ives Day Cream which left me fresh, bright and smooth but alas got discontinued. Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser is amazing value, but doesn't quite make the cut. Mineral oils often give me spots, so far this product has not, but it does make my face dull and a little greasy.

I have been using the same moisturiser for years (L'Oreal Oil Free Pure Zone) and because I have very spot prone /oily skin I am always really nervous about switching products so I get stuck in a rut. The trouble with previous moisturisers I've used is that they just don't moisturise enough, they break me out or they make my skin really greasy. I've never moisturised before bed as if I left a product on overnight I would almost always wake up with spots the next day. Recently I've completly changed my skincare routine (trying to ditch all the super drying prouducts I use as after I wash my face it looks like I've had a face lift because my skins so tight!) and thought I'd brave a new moisturiser as the L'Oreal product just wasn't moisturising enough. I've also recently started self tanning my face which is drying out my skin and I needed to have a good mosituriser to prep my face. I choose this one because it said 'light' but to be honest I was expecting the worse as it didn't say oil free which usually means I stay clear however at the price I couldn't resist trying it.
When I put it on my hand I was suprised at the texture - it felt almost gel like. I put it on in the morning and was amazed at how mositurised my face felt, it wasn't tight at all and once rubbed in the product felt really light and not at all greasy. After a few days with no breakouts I decided to try the product overnight and to my suprise I still haven't had a breakout - in fact my skin has been so much better than when I didn't moisturise. I'm so happy with this product :) my skin feels so much softer and looks healthier. I think it's got a tiny bit of shimmer in as well which I love..it's works great under my self tanner and under my make up. Overall very happy and will continue to use!

This is my favourite cheap moisturizer. It's "simple", it has no added perfume/colours etc. It's super moisturizing and keeps my skin nice, hydrated and supple all day. It feels good on the skin and I've never had any reactions from it. I'm going to keep using this as long as possible! It's also quite cheap so a complete steal. If my skin is feeling a bit tight which it does some days I just chuck this into my bag and go!
finally Simple has its own little section. its a brand found in boots, superdrug etc, that sells items that are perfume-free, colour-free etc, designed not to irritate your skin. anyway i have the moisturiser, ive been using it happily for some years having tried other inferior ones beforehand. there are two version. light and rich. u pick depending whether u have dry or oily skin. it comes with a white bottle with green screw cap and lasts 2 months perhaps more with usage morning and night. it goes on very easily, isnt too greasy, and absorbs quickly into the skin, which is helpful after u use things like drying foaming cleansers and such. very effective, im not going to bother seeing if ican find a better one cos this works a treat!

I've been using Simple Hydrating Moisturizing Lotion for about 3-4 years. Absolutely no fragrance in a very light but moisturizing formula. I use it on my face under my Olay and/or suncreen depending on the weather etc and what Im doing as well as on my neck/chest. It absorbs really well and doesnt feel sticky. If you have particularly dry skin you may need something more emollient. Having said that, I did have quite dry skin with flaky patches on my cheeks after some bouts of facial dermatitis (needing cortisone treatment) and all I used was this product and it allowed me to throw away the cortisone for good and I've never had the dermatitis come back. No more flaky bits either! This product is a staple for me and at under $8 it's a steal! My HG all-in-one al cheapo for face, chest and legs!

This is a real nice body lotion. Its fragance free; no perfume nor colour and is designed for sensitive skin. Thus, its excellent for when you've just shaven as it does not irritate. Makes your skin soft and ideal for everyday use. Its got skin friendly ingredients like almond and rose oil and vitamin e too. I love it.
