The Balance-n-Bronze Split Compact is a great way to be introduced to the Laura Geller line. Originally, I preferred the Balance-N-Brighten on its own, as I'm not a big bronzer user, but it's so convenient to have the option, and the fact that a finishing powder and bronzer are combined in one container makes for a travel friendly companion. The Balance half of this compact really does help finish a face, giving off a soft, natural glow that's not too matte and not too dewy. The Bronzer half is very, very soft, so even for a bronzer fearer like myself, it works - it just gives off dimension, glow, and a hint of color. Swirled together, it's an amazing pick-me-up for my NC25 face - love this.

My compact was purchased off of QVC and came with a little kabuki brush in a case. I wanted to love it, but alas, did not. First of all, let me just start out by saying that I did appreciate the "balance" portion of the Balance N Bronze. It left a very nice, subtle-sparkle, glowy finish. That part was fine and I probably would repurchase a compact of just the balance n brighten. However, the "bronze" portion was terrible. I found it to be too orange and garish for my tastes. All shimmer and orange basically. It was certainly not suitable for all over the face (as I like to apply my bronzer powders). Also the Kabuki was hard-bristled and measly. It didn't fluff up even after I washed it. The case was also cheaply made. Nothing good there. This is my second attempt (Ethereal Rose was my first) at trying out a LG product and I'm still yet to be really impressed. For the price, it just doesn't rate any better than some drugstore brands. I can't recommend.
I got this split duo as part of the Baked Collection set. I applied Balance-N-Brighten side all over my face without foundation and then used the Bronze-N-Brighten side to contour my face. The Balance-N-Brighten gave me a very polished look and made my skin looked flawless. However, I am quite pale (NW15 to NW20) so Balance-N-Brighten was too dark on me. I look tanned for the whole day and my sister noted right after I applied my makeup that I "did something artificial". I could not tell if the dark color of Balance-N-Brighten masked my facial imperfections or the powder's coverage did. But my makeup almost looked airbrushed, which I actully like a lot. The Bronze-N-Brighten is not dark enough to contour my face effectively. Used sparingly, however, it worked quite well as a light bronzer for pale girls.
I found it really difficult to get the individual products from the split duo! I could not really swirl my brush on the pan because I would pick up both colors at the same time. I ended up scraping the color off with the brush slowly from each side so it took me a long time to apply makeup. For this reason, I will not purchase the split duo again.
I would recommend both the Balance and the Bronze-n-Brighten to those with darker complexion than me, but only as individual products, not a split duo.

I got this combo as part of the Baked Beauties set. I actually rather like it, if used with a light hand. I have been avoiding the sun recently (no small feat here in Hawaii) so I am a bit paler than I am normally (NC25 or NW25, depending on which MA you ask) so I like to use bronzer to brighten up my pale skin. Both sides apply very subtle, which I like, because then I can build the color. I did go slightly crazy with it the first time and wound up a little darker than I'd like, but I lightened up with some pressed powder. I got a lot of compliments that day. People made comments about me looking well-rested. I wasn't. It was the compact. This is a great way to introduce yourself to LG's products.

I still like it, covered well. I think for a quick get out the door this is it. Might be a tad dark but I do like the coverage.

This is a HORRIBLE product. I agree with the first reviewer that the packaging of this product makes it impossible to use one side by itself. The bronze side is definitely not orange at all but it looks exactly like dirt. In fact, it looked like I rubbed dirt into my skin. The balance side did nothing as far as I could tell except crack and consequently little chunks fell out. I would return this if I could but I swapped for it. Now I understand why the swapper was swapping it away.
If you are looking for an extemely neutral bronzer, then look no further. I am soooo impressed by this stuff, I couldn't ask for a better color. But my skin hates warm orangy colors and any trace of that will be magnified on my skin. When I tan, which is almost never these days, it is a true neutral brown. I am in love. Staying power is pretty good so far too. I do put a little bit of See thru cheek gel by MAC on the apples of my cheeks to make them pop. Will buy this forever.

I have just received and tried the Balance and Bronze split compact and I am very happy with it. The product is perfectly split in half and the yellow undertones of the Balance is perfect for my complexion. The little kabuki brush that came with it is too coarse and doesn't pick up all the product, so I use the Bare Escentuals baby kabuki and it does the job really well.
I like the texture, it does not leave my skin looking chalky or cakey and the tones of the Bronze are also very flattering. My mix of Bronze is more on the light side of the spectrum with works fine for me and it can be built up.
The mirror is square and big enough to do my make up. I used eyeshadow brushes to do my eye make up with this same product and I like the golden tones as eyeliner. I have only added concealer, lipgloss and mascara to my face and I'm perfectly done.
This product will be useful for traveling, to throw in my handbag for midday touch-ups and especially useful for summer months. I would definitely buy again.

I got a compact that was 3/4 bronze n brighten and only a tiny section of balance. The brush is so stiff it crumbles the powder up and its impossible to swirl the brush around because then you mix hte bronze side with the other side. Im not sur ehow she expected us to use this. Everytime you take the brush across it it leave tons of powder you have to clear off.
So far I cant really see any difference when I use it but Ill try some more .
I guess Ill try it with my BE brushes which are softer adn see if that works better.
I wanted to try both items,so this was good for me..I liked them and would re-order..but I didnt like the way some of the powder would work its way out of compact,so I put a thin cotton pad on top and that really helped alot. Also use some of the darker color as eye shadow very nice..
