I've been using this soap for a month now. I have to say that I was not expecting great results. It was cheap and I felt like I wanted something with a little acne treatment in it to clean my face. The Oil free acne wash dried my skin too much and made it turn red. I figured I'd go with a lesser percentage of salicylic acid (0.5%). I tell you, this has calmed my skin down. My skin tone is more even and the redness that was there is no longer. It feels smooth, clean, and definitely less breakouts. I want to try the foaming cleanser like this. The bar is kind of messy. If you used Dove soap, then you'll know that it has that melting effect. However, this bar has lasted me a month, so I don't think that's too bad, especially considering that it was only 2.97. I would tell someone to try it because Aveeno is a good brand and has good products for the skin. I trust this brand. it makes me want to try more of their products.
I was hoping this would have worked for me as I had read some good reviews, but unfortunately I had a bad experience. After only using it three times, each and every time my face started to itch afterwards and I got this red rash on my face and broke out in little bumps. I won't be purchasing ever again.
I'm glad I didn't try this on my face, I bought it for my back and chest which sometimes break out a little. When I got this I had been using Neutrogena body clear washes which were very drying and ineffective and I was hoping this would be more gentle. Unfortunately, I found this very harsh, drying and irritating and I had to stop using it after only a couple of days. It did not help breakouts at all. I would not repurchase or recommend this, there are much better products out there for acne prone skin.
Seemed to dry my skin out & cause break outs.... continued >>

I had good results with the cream cleanser from this line years ago, and I'd always heard great things about Aveeno, so I decided to try this to clear up a recent breakout. This caused me more damage than it was worth. Instead of helping with the 2 blemishes on my forehead that were healing, this created more! I woke up with a forehead full of small itchy under the skin whitehead like bumps. The itch was incredible, and these were impossible to cover. I immediately switched back to the Purpose cleanser that I'd been using and it's been calming my skin down. I'm still trying to clear this mess up. I"m never touching this again. My skin is sensitive and I'm allergy prone. Something in this product didn't agree with my skin.

First of all, I have moderate acne, sensitive-combination skin.
I always bug my mom about it because I'm quite self-conscious.
So one day mom came home with this. I was so excited to try this product because my mom trusts aveeno a lot. In the directions it says that you have to wash your face with lukewarm water. So I did that and used it consistently twice a day until the bar was small enough for me to stop using it.
My skin felt so soft and supple and my acne reduced a lot in a time span of about 2 months. I did get an occasional spot every "time of the month". I live in a tropical country so I didn't even need to use a moisturizer because it's so gentle and moisturizing in itself. (plus, it smells really nice—not strong— unlike the foam version which I will be trying soon.

I love this facial bar! I purchased it at kaiser in the pharmacy dept. Cost around 5$ has lasted me so far 4 months and I still have a good amount left with on and off use. Light fragrance, dosent make my face feel dry and tight, and it lathers well to get that deep clean feeling. I use this on rotation with my peter thomas roth washes and my skin is clearing up nicely. ( Currently recovering from yet again another foundation that didn't agree with my skin) will repurchase, and I do recommend :D
I started using this cleanser about a month ago when I realized that the products I was using before were not properly removing my makeup and making me breakout. I have acne prone, oily and sensitive skin so finding a cleanser that doesn't irritate my face is always difficult. However, I have absolutely no complaints about this bar. Its easy to just keep in the shower and after I have rinsed my hair I wash my face and see that this bar eliminates any sort of makeup, shampoo or conditioner residue from my face. I love that it has salicylic acid in it because it gently keeps my acne at bay. I would definitely buy another bar after this one finishes. In fact, I just realized that this same cleanser comes in a foaming version which I have just bought and now keep on my sink to cleanse my face with when I am not in the shower. I would definitely recommend this to oily and acne prone skin types as it works, is not harsh nor irritating.

omg i hate this crap like a passion. i used it only one time just one time and it broke me out like crazy with little colorless bumps everywhere. they went away though after they turned into big monstrous cysts!! this really let me down considering i like other Aveeno products. my skin is still healing to this day and i used this around February :(
I do not buy bar soaps I prefer liquid but I gave this a try because I saw on the Tyra show that Aveeno is all-natural and we should all try to use all natural products since we are exposed to so much processed/perservative stuff. I chose clear complexion because I tend to break out under stress and I was going through a very stressful time. I can say this soap stopped me from breaking out but it dried my skin out terribly. It was so dry it was painful even though I used a thick moisturize it was still dry. It is inexpense thats the only thing I can say for it.
