True, there are cheaper eyeliners on the market that probably work really well. For me, it just depends on what you're looking for. I've had this pencil for well over a year and it looks like it's barely been used, plus the pencil is still super creamy. It sharpens nicely and looks great when smudged in lightly or when I line just my upper eye and go over it with a small angled brush to create a subtle cat eye look. Definitely not for the inner rim because it'll smudge off fairly quickly. I use this liner in black and I find that it's a very soft color, but can be layered for intensity. The texture is great too because it doesn't have that cheap, chalky eyeliner effect.

I was excited when I first bought this liner (in Coffee Bean) but am really disappointed.

Pros:
-Great color. Perfect neutral chocolate brown.
-Creamy and smooth application.
Cons:
-Price. Considering what you get, you're definitely just paying for the name.
-Smudges. I've never had a liner smudge or disappear on me, but this definitely does. I'm not sure if I received a bad one, but it definitely cannot be used on my lower lash line.
-Not precise. I can't get a perfect thin line, which makes me not want to use this unless I'm tightlining (but it'd smudge).

I wouldn't buy this again. If you're looking for a good liner, try something like UD 24/7 Liners, or MUFE Aqua eyes. If you're set on Chanel, definitely try it out for a day before purchasing.

I have this pencil in berry (n. 58). It is easy to apply it, but I prefer the GA's eye pencil (much easier to apply and silkier). It has a good staying power and last a long time (there is more product than the average eye pencil).

I am not too convinced about the smudger as it is not soft and tends to erase the pencil rather than smudging it, but then I read in another review that it is a corrector and not a smudger.

Great application, glides on smoothly, doesn't smudge and has this cute hint of sheen in it. It's also very easy to sharpen. I love it! HQ eyeliner.

I've been using this for over 5 years, and still have the same pencil, and I do use it every day. It goes on really well, sharpens perfectly, doesn't pull when applying, smudges easily and the black colour is very black, which is also a must for me. I use eye shadows over the liner to give it a bit more staying power, as I'm unable to touch up if needed. And, just to mention, the tool on the other end is a CORRECTOR, not a smudger (please check with a sales assistant at the Chanel counter next time you're in store to clarify this). Yes, it is expensive, and I would love to find something cheaper with the same quality. However, if I'm not successful in finding a cheaper product, I'll continue to use Chanel. Love it!

I am so sad to say this, but this was weak, very weak.
I was expecting magic...but my avon eyeliner is way better than this junk. No intensity. Rreminded me of one of those really cheap eyeliners you would get in a big beauty kit from a chain store (you know the ones with like 1000 hideous eyeshadow and lip gloss pallet's )

You'd end up gauging your own eyes out trying to get some sort of colour happening on your eyelids with this.

Note: I did ask the lady at the counter to give me the KOHL eyeliner but she gave me this crayon one instead. I was in a rush so I didnt have time to go back and change it. Shame.

For me this a very average product. The packaging is great though with a sharpener and a smudger on the other end.The colors are ok.and the textures very smooth and rich but the staying power is low, also it's difficult for me with this eyeliner to do a thin, discreet line

Gorgeous eyeliner. Everything you can expect from Chanel. I like how it comes with a smudger on the end & a cute Chanel sharpener. Staying power could be slightly better.
I'm on my second pencil now (with a large break in-between i should add!) continued >>
