Overall I am pleased with the effectiveness of this facial scrub; however, i DO NOT use this every day mainly because it is very abrasive. I would not classify it as "harsh," but the exfoliating beads are very coarse compared to some other facial scrubs (i.e. Olay Pore Minimizing cleanser & scrub, Clean & Clear deep action exfoliating scrub, and C&C morning burst detoxifying facial scrub)...I have used each of the aforementioned examples faithfully during the past three to four years and have been impressed with each as far as daily usage with variety, but for St. Ives apricot scrub I use this ONLY once a week or so depending on what my skin needs. I have relatively normal skin with occasional oiliness around my nose and chin area so I rely on the St. Ives to give me an intense exfoliation after days of build up and it works amazingly! I just finished washing with it and my face feels incredibly clean, smooth, soft, and refreshed. This is also a good product to use when doing a steam facial. Scrub with this first before your steam treatment to remove all the dead skin, oil and dirt...(steam), then follow with a good deep cleansing cream cleanser (C&C deep action), rinse with tepid water, splash with cold water, and, lastly, moisturize with your favorite oil free hydrating formula. I can almost guarantee you'll notice the difference in your skin within a couple weeks. This scrub is definitely something to have in your skincare arsenal, but it's important for you to know what works best for your skin type and use the products wisely. So, I give St. Ives Apricot scrub two thumbs up because it stays true to its claims...nothing more...nothing less.

Not sure why a lot of people rage over this, but I've had really good skin and this never harmed it in the least. Of course, do not go crazy and scrub the hell out of your face. I dab a little onto my Mia and just gently swipe the brush over my skin, never scrubbing into it. If you feel uncomfortable with the granules, you are doing it too hard. I use it with the salycic acid whenever I have a little breakout of small whiteheads and within a week they are gone.

St-Ive's Apricot Scrub lives in my shower. It's the perfect scrub for rough patches of skin, it exfoliates beautifully before shaving and it smells absolutely lovely. On my face I use it twice per week, leaving my skin glowing and fresh!

Unfortunately the packaging makes it worthlessly difficult to squeeze out the last bit - But for the price, I'll get over it.

I love this scrub! It makes my face feel so glowy, fresh, and clean. It also helps on my neck and chest where a lot of dead skin builds up.

Yes this product is a bit harsh but it works great for me. My skin is very dry and I need something like this to help me out. I actually ran out of this a few weeks ago and I was out for about a month and I couldn't figure out why my skin was so dull and flakey. When I finally got to the store and repurchased I realized it was because of this. It makes my skin so much brighter. Definitely great for those with super dry skin. Probably not so much for oily skin.

This is my go to face scrub. It's fairly inexpensive, easy to find and does a good job. I should mention that I use the medicated version for acne and blackheads. I do amp up it's acne fighting abilities with a little bit of an acne cream cleanser (like acne free) mixed with it. It works better for me than just the scrub alone. There are a lot of store brand knock-offs and I have tried several, but the ingredients are not exactly like St Ives, and I have found them to irritate my skin, so I have to stick to the brand name stuff only.

I have the scrub and for me it doesn't really do a good job. First of all, the little exfoliating beads are extremely harsh on my skin, and I do notice that my face after I wash it with this product is really soft, but because I have combination skin and live in the tropic, after a couple of hours I feel my face getting a little too shiny.

I recommend it if you :
- have dry skin
- like hard exfoliating beads
- looking for a cheap scrub

Don't recommend it if you :
- have oily or combination skin
- have sensitive skin
- live in warm/hot weathers

I buy the under $2 equate version of this. It is the same thing save your money. Equate has Ben vamped up their packaging so their just as cute now. I use it as an exfoliater every couple days. I enjoy the smell and clean soft feeling on my skin. I don't think this is necessary for every day usage unless you really need it. I haven't noticed much in getting rid of any of my pimples but It does get rid of dry skin and makes my skin glow. I have dry sensitive skin and I don't find that it's too harsh. Just be gentle and use it occasionally for exfoliating if that is the case for you. I love it and got it for under 2 bucks compared to like 6 or 7 for st Ives. Whoo :)

I don't know if it's only me doing this, but being this scrub was too harsh for my face I have been using it for my feet instead. I was soaking them in hot water with Epsom Salt one day, when the idea hit me. I admit that I am a "waste not, want not" kind of girl, but really this scrub + a pumice stone = lovely refreshed soft feet. Glad I found a use for it!

This is a good body scrub, and it makes my skin feel really soft, but I don't like using it on my face since it doesn't really do anything for my acne.
