They should call this the Curl Crusher. Dropped my curl like a non-water resistant mascara. Adds a little length, no volume. Will never buy again.
Didn't hold my curl. TOTAL DEAL BREAKER.
No clumps, but it did nothing for my lashes. I find that it didn't really darken them that much either, they just grouped my lashes into bunches and somehow made each bunch look like one lash.. Sooo I just looked like I had one lash for every 5mm of my lash line.
I bought it due to its hype but i dont really like it. Yeah there is no clump and it adds a little bit of length but no volume AT ALL. Not to mention it flakes like crazy too.
I am super allergic to this product, and from what I've heard and read, I'm not the only one!!
The brush is probably the only redeeming quality of this product; the curve really lets you decide if you want a crazy dramatic eye, or if you want to go with a sweet natural look.
The formula isn't that great, like I said before, I am allergic. Aside from my body reacting negatively, the formula is nothing special; I would rather use my Marcelle mascara, because the clump crusher doesn't really crush clumps. It flakes a fair bit too.
This mascara was a cool experience; I never knew I could be allergic to mascara, but I would definitely not buy it again!!!
I really love the Clump Crusher. I haven't had it for very long, but, true to its name, it has zero clumps. I love the brush an the packaging is really nice. My only problem would be that I've found after three or four coats (if I do that many coats) it starts to clump a little, which I guess is explainable, but still....Anyways, I love this mascara overall.
it does what it advertises i guess...no clumps at all even with layering! i bought htis mascara on a whim at walmart for only 5$ and i was excited but with my straight short eyelashes it wont hold the curl at all! literally the second i put it on my curled lashes it goes back straight! i would recommend this if your don't normally have use a eyelash curler, it really gets every lash you have but just didnt work out for me
I wanted to like this mascara, I really did. Josh Collier of joshcolliermua spoke highly of it, and generally I find his product recommendations very useful, but this mascara just did not work for me.
PROS:
The small brush made me less likely to hit my eyelid when applying. This is a common problem for me since my eyes protrude slightly.
The formula is smooth and creamy, and the short plastic bristles really do prevent any clumping. (Not that clumpy mascara is a bad thing. Sometimes I like to rock the spider lashes look.) It combed through my lashes with ease but still deposited a lot of product.
CONS:
This "black" mascara is definitely a charcoal. Small issue, but come on. We know what black looks like.
The formula is supposed to be waterproof, right? And waterproof mascaras are usually waxy and quick-drying, which make them ideal for holding a curl. At least this has been my experience with mascara formulas. But this is not the case with waterproof Clump Crusher. I could see my lashes droop from perkily curled to sad and straight immediately after applying.
I gave it another go, this time curling my lashes so much that the tips went back and touched my eyelid, but still no luck. Clump crusher straightened them out just as easily. The formula of this mascara is too heavy and wet for my naturally straight-as-an-arrow lashes.
So in conclusion, if your lashes are naturally curly and generally don't need much help in the lift department, this separating yet volumizing mascara is great. But if you are like me, and have lashes that are stubbornly straight, I do not recommend waterproof Clump Crusher.
This is a decent mascara. It really does as advertised: no clumps! I like that the brush is small and curved, it gets into the lash line well and really huge your lashes. The reason this isn't my favourite is because I didn't find it gave overwhelming length or volume, just gave me kind of a natural look. Which is nice, and that may also be because it's waterproof (I got 'very black' and it was nice and dark). Would probably buy again if it was on sale, I got it right when it came out because i'd heard such great things, and it was about $11 (but i'm also in Canada).
Pros:
great overall effect
gives length, separation and volume
doesn't clump (I've tried up to 4 coats, although 2-3 is usually good for me)
holds curl (and I'm Asian with straight lashes)
doesn't smudge or flake
solid black color
great brush, really grabs lashes
Cons:
not water resistant -_- (won't hold up against a snow fall)
It gives a really similar effect to lash blast volume, which is one of my favourites. The consistency is on the drier side, which is good for holding curl. Overall, I love this. I would have given this a 5 if it was actually water resistant.
This mascara has several strong points: the brush is fantastic and absolutely eliminates any kind of clumping; on me, this does indeed last reliably throu a normal work day, and I have oily, hooded lids; the second ingredient is acrylates copolymer, which is one of the ingredients that makes tubing mascaras work so well for me; the color is nice and dark; the formula both thickens and lengthens moderately; it doesnt make my lashes stiff or flake; it removes easily with my normal face wash, warm water, and gentle rubbing; and it's very reasonably priced. The only downside i've experienced is that it seems a bit heavy and doesn't lift or hold a curl. That's a minor issue for me, though, and this has quickly become my second-favorite masara. I prefer the DHC mascara for similar reasons, and it keeps my lashes lifted. This one, though, is available widely in drugstores so if I'm in need! I know I will be able to rely on this. I haven't worn it in a rainstorm, but it has withstood normal allergy reactions without incident. I like it a lot!
