I have a deluxe sample of this and I wasn't overly impressed by it--especially considering the price for a full sized tube. It was very volumizing but I found myself veering towards spiderville a little too quickly, even after wiping most of the product off the brush before applying it.

I do like the brush because you can get those tiny lashes in the corners, and I like that it doesn't budge once it's on your lashes. If you like really dramatic lashes and are really comfortable with applying mascara then you will probably like this. If you're new to mascara, then you might want to skip this as things can go awry very easily with this stuff.

Previously i was using the Lancome Dolly Eyes. After all the rave about the new Hynose Star, ive decided to give it a try. So here's my 2 cents worth...

Pros:
1. Doesnt clump your lashes
2. Waterproof
3. Doesnt flake even after 12hours and under humid weather!
4. Plump up your lashes!

Cons:
1. As usual, its pretty pricey..
2. It adds the volume but not much of the length. So if length is what u r looking for, try the lancome dolly eyes mascara instead.
3. For my lower lashes, i think it didnt do much
4. It has 2 sided brush ehich can be quite confusing. And honestly, it didnt really make much difference so u can simply apply at any side

This mascara wasn't the best I've tried but I did like it. It has the usual rose scent as I've notice most of the Hypnos mascaras have. The brush helps to get all the baby lashes. I personally probably wouldn't get this mascara again just because I've tried better for the same price or a little more/less.

I have always been a fan of Lancome mascaras so I decided to try Hypnose Star mascara, which I bought in "Noir Midnight".

The brush is triangular shaped, wide at the top and thinner and angled at the bottom. This mascara definitely increased length and the look of my lashes (and I have very short lashes so that was good) but it was a little clumpy and heavy. Not an everyday sort of mascara, so I save it for when I want my lashes to look especially dramatic. Not sure if I would purchase again though since I use it sort of sparingly.

I love Hypnose Drama, but this was mediocre. The brush and formula did nothing for my lashes. On the upside the packaging is beautiful and it didn't smudge.

I bought this for SGD50. Having tried it a couple of times now, I conclude that while it performs what it is supposed to do, I will not repurchase it. SGD50 is a lot of money to pay for a mascara and I don't think I will spend that kind of money on something that I can get for cheaper. Anyway, before using this mascara, I prime my eyelashes. Applying the mascara over the eyelash primer enables the eyelashes to look longer and very curled. It also adds volume depending on how many coats you use and whether or not you brush the mascara wand from the roots upwards. The colour of this mascara is a very dark black. It gives the eyes intensity. If you are not satisfied with the amount of volume you get after applying the mascara, you can always use a black kohl pencil/black liquid liner and apply it across the base of your eyelashes. This helps to fill in the small gaps between the eyelashes, making it look darker and fuller. If you feel that your mascara application is getting clumpy, just wipe the excess product off the wand on some tissue paper. When the wand is clean, the mascara will apply very well. If you want your eyelashes (especially those closer to the nose which are quite short) to appear longer, turn the wand vertically and coat the eyelashes upwards. The thing is, you don't need THIS particular mascara to do the job for you. Maybelline's 'Lashionista' or Bobbi Brown's 'Extreme Party Mascara' achieve the same effect and are much cheaper. Not everything depends on the mascara you use; how you apply it makes a world of a difference.

I received this mascara as a free sample and I was excited, however shortly after I begin using it, it started clumping all my lashes together and just looking like what another reviewer describes as tranny lashes! It's true! Although I did get a compliment from a coworker that my lashes were long, it did not look good up close in my opinion. I will stick with my all time favorite: Loreal Voluminous Waterproof!! Much less clumping!

I bought this after rading some reviews online and hate that I wasted my money on it. The first time I tried it, it was very wet and left wet blobs all over. Over the past month I have tried it 3 times and it is getting worse each time. Garbage here I come....

I received a sample of this mascara when I ordered some products from Lancome. I Love it!!! I have used a lot of mascaras, and this one is the best by far to me! It does not clump and get to thick, I was able to go over my lashes a few times and not have to dip the wand back in the mascara, and it did not get clumpy. I know its a little on the pricier side, but I think its totally worth the way it defines your lashes and keeps them separated without looking clumpy:)

I've come to the conclusion that mascara depends on two factors 1) what kind of lashes you have and 2) what kind of lashes (results) you want. That's why there are soooo many kinds! I have long but sparse lashes and I want my lashes to look like mine but better. More "oomph" (thicker, darker and yes, even longer!) but not like false lashes or a dramatic "catwalk" look. This mascara - Hypnose Star noir midnight - is perfect for me. You must follow the directions for the brush however! (See the Lancôme website for the slightly goofy instructional video. You'll see why I say "goofy" if you watch it: http://www.lancome-usa.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-lancome_us-Site/default/mProduct-Show?pid=1000571&bookmark=988031). The formula is only half of it - the brush seals the deal. My lashes become long, lush (I don't dare say "thick"), separated, and soft! No crunchy, stiff lashes here! (I'm looking at you, Defincils!). Layering the mascara using their brush technique adds to the volume and drama. The color is a nice deep black but not carbon black or black-black. And the formula is curious in that soft as it is on my lashes, it flakes right after application but then stays put once it sets. It doesn't flake or smudge. Period. I do have dry skin in a dry climate but I use the oil-filled touche éclat under my eyes and even with that it doesn't smudge. Holds a curl too. Though after several hours it does need a touch-up with the curler. At night I use the OCM and it comes right off like a dream. The packaging is gorgeous (but not obnoxious). Ergonomic curves with a beautiful glitter fade on the bottom of the tube. Just don't set it down where it can roll because the tube is round and it will roll off! $28 is pricey for a mascara but worth it to get the results I want. All in all this mascara truly is a star! continued >>
