This is one of the very few makeup items that I have repurchased. I do not have very dark under eye circles, but I do have quite blue under eyes so I love the level of corrective peach in this. I tried MAC radiant rose, but it was too light and not peach enough to correct under my eyes. I've also tried maybelline instant age rewind in brightener and it was a little less peach as well. The dream lumi is easily my favorite. I put on my foundation and then this and blend it in with a fluffy brush, like a MAC 224. I like to use an HD powder to set it, like ELF HD powder or the ELF HD undereye setting powder (it looks sparkly but isn't when applied) and use either the same MAC 224 or a Sigma F35 type brush. It corrects enough on its own for me that I don't need a concealor as well. I am very fair though, NC15. It lasts all day when set and blended properly. I do wish it had more product in the tube, you go through it fairly quickly. And I don't love the brush applicator, I make do but I would love it in different packaging. I would mark it down for those two things, but it is still quite cheap and I haven't found anything I like nearly so much so I'm giving 5 lippies for now.
Didn't like this at all -- won't repurchase. Cakey and hard to get out of the tube.
Wow, I love this! I wanted a brightening undereye pen and I considered several before trying this one. This color is a bit pink/salmon and really cancels out undereye shadows nicely, while still looking natural. It brightens without looking shimmery which I like. It has a nice consistency and blends well, but can dry quick. It does not cake or crease on me, and the wear is excellent. For $7, this is an amazing product!! I've never tried YSL, but I don't think I need it now that I have found this!
LOVE THIS. One of the only under-eye MU products I use. Here's why... Traditional under eye concealers never fail to cake up or form dry patches under my eyes. They often look quite dull as well, sometimes making me look even more tired than before application!
A few members on MUA recommended this Maybelline Lumi as a concealer + highlighter, and I'm so glad I purchased it! For me, it's the perfect combination of coverage (light to medium) and illuminator (some light reflection) to make me look fresh and awake. In fact I've gotten several compliments on looking "fresh faced" etc ever since I've started using this under my eyes.
It goes on smoothly as peachy color, which most know is corrective for blue-toned under eye circles. It's a bit sheer but buildable, and I think that the illumination adds the bigger effect for cancelling out undereye darkness.
My one and only gripe with the product is the twist and brush-on packaging, which I personally would prefer as a doe-foot applicator so I can have better control of the amount of product I use.
Overall a new HG for me!
Love this product. It really helps to brighten up my under eyes and give a nice Kim Kardashian look. I think this is more of a highlighter than a concealer however, if you wanted to cover up dark circles you would probably want to apply a regular concealer as well.
After reading some great reviews, I decided to purchase this highlighter. I wasn't expecting coverage with this since these type of concealers really don't provide you with good coverage and that they are a product you apply over your concealer to brighten up the eye area. I've tried the Dior and YSL versions and didn't find the price justified for what it does. I like that the Maybelline lumi touch in Radiant doesn't have sparkles in it and that it is a pink shade. However, the brightening quality is just a C for me. I'm someone with dark circles that are severe. I use a corrector and concealer to get about 75% coverage. I'm always looking for anything to help with the darkness under my eyes. I've tried applying this a few ways. 1. on it's own (no brightening or coverage at all) 2. Just over corrector with no foundation (mediocre brightening effect) 3. Applied corrector under foundation and this over the foundation (best results) 4. Applied as a shadow primer ( provided better brightening to my lid area than under eyes and it didn't crease). I will use this up but I wouldn't repurchase.
I'm shocked at the great reviews! I think this one of the most drying concealers I have ever used. If you want to look like a creasy mess, this is for you. Awful.
like one of the other reviewers, i was using the bobbi brown color corrector for my dark circles. i'm super duper pale and have a variety of colors--a rainbow, really, with perfectly symmetrical crescent on the inner and outer corners--to my under eyes: blue, pink, brown, purple, it's like a veinous masterpiece around my eyes. i'd been using porcelain peach to hide 'em, but the cakey formula just wasn't doing it for me.
then comes lumi in radiant. terrific, lightweight, yet still gives me more coverage somehow than the BB corrector. i've used YSL and this provides much better coverage without looking or feeling heavy at all. i'm still a little stupefied that an HG product for my under eyes costs like, seven bucks, but why fight fate?
that said, i do not use it for the entire under eye, ONLY where there is darkness. it is a peachy color and would look obvious on my pale, neutral-warm complexion. on the dark circles it just neutralizes and is seamless; everywhere else it's orangey.
i like the click pen enough. sometimes you get a little too much, but, eh. i use a beauty blender to pat it out since this provides the best coverage without making too much of a mess with the liquidy formula. one pen lasts me a while, and i stockpile backups, so this is either a dormant hoarder gene seeking expression or a really good product that i always want to have on hand.
pale women with under eye circles: you will be tempted to buy lumi in the light/"ivory" shade rather than the salmon-colored radiant, but resist, because that color is weird and useless and like a billion shades darker than ivory.
now all i can hope for is that YSL loses so much on their touche éclat sales that their lipsticks and glosses are forced to absorb the blow, and become cheaper, because that stuff is the bomb.
Pale girl with dark circles here...
I am a concealer connoisseur and earlier this year I was using Bobbi Brown's Corrector under her potted concealer, and when I ran out of the Corrector, I started layering Too Faced's BB cream in Snow Glow under Tarte's Maracuja Concealer in Light/Medium.
Both systems worked, but they were heavy, the coverage was noticeable and it took about 10 minutes to apply either.
Dug through my box of unused makeup and found Dream Lumi Touch in Ivory. Gave it a whirl, it worked, came here and read the reviews of "Radiant", so picked it up.
My entire concealer routine has been simplified: I apply my eye cream (Neutrogena Healthy Skin Eye Cream), then my sunscreen/moisturizer (Neutrogena Ageless Intensives Tone Correcting Moisture), then apply Dream Lumi Touch in Radiant with a little Eco Tools concealer brush. I apply it heavily on my lids and blend it into my inner corners and then under my eyes. It brightens my eyes right up without negating the natural contours and shadows of my face. That's huge.
If I want a little more brightness, I'll apply Dream Lumi in Ivory over the Radiant.
I set it with either Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder or MUFE's HD loose HD powder.
I have no blending issues and no creasing issues that a quick swipe of a finger can't solve.
I like this but I have to say it creases not horribly but still so if you are looking for crease proof this is not for you
This is super brighten so many days this is all I need under my eyes. The clicker taker a while to get it to come out so sometimes you can end up with way too much product. The packaging is the most annoying part
