this product reminds me of a more natural/healthy version of the st. ives scrub. i keep it in my shower and use it on my face and shoulders. i think it works. i don't use it every day but i will certainly reach for this instead of the st. ives from now on. the scent is nice and it rinses well. i don't feel any burning or irritation after use and i use a prescription retinoid. this is a keeper.

This scrub is my absolute favorite! I picked this product up at my local Target when they began carrying more all natural products. My husband and I have been using this scrub since April. My skin is combo with an oily t-zone and dry cheeks, while my hubby's is oily all over with sensitive skin. My husband uses this 2-3 times a week and I use it daily. I love that we both see benefits with this product despite the differences in our skin. I love that this scrub foams up (like getting a 2-in-1!) and the smell is wonderful. I also use this on my neck, shoulders, and chest to help fight the occasional blemish. I've bought a tube of this a month so far and will continue to do so. I used to use St. Ives Apricot scrub and never thought I would stop using it until I tried this.

This is by far the best facial scrub I've ever used. I picked it up on a whim at target for around $8.99. The tube is pretty big since its a face & body scrub. I only use it on my face though. The scrub is darkish brown, a little bit runny, and smells sort of like coca cola. Upon scrubbing, it lathers very well and the granules in it feel soo amazing! Unlike most other scrubs, the granules are very fine and will not puncture your skin. After just the first use my skin felt smooth and fresh. The product claims it continues to fight blemishes even after it is rinsed off. I saw a noticeable change in my skin in that there were less blemish marks. After a few weeks, however, my skin may have gotten used to its ingredients because it stopped working as well. I just switched to another wash and came back to this one....and it worked! :) I'm surprised this scrub doesn't have more reviews. continued >>

I've been very happy with this scrub! Between the warm weather and working out, I was starting to get some clogged pores on my chest and back. Within a couple weeks of using this, my skin started to clear up. I tried using the scrub on my face, but it was a little too strong. It made my face dry out a bit- I would recommend using it only once a week for your face. However, I can use it every day on my body without a problem. The exfoliating granules are relatively small and are not overly abrasive. I know how important it is to not create small tears in your skin, so I am careful to be gentle- it's easy to do because the product does the work. There's no need to press hard! There are no offensive smells, and the product rinses off well.
I love this stuff- I feel like I've finally found the perfect exfoliating scrub for my acne prone skin. The exfoliating granules are very very fine, there are a ton of them, and they are all consistent in size and shape (no wierd angular or larger pieces to hurt your skin)- and the soap solution lathers up well.
I haven't noticed any smell as I use it, which means it must be very mild and doesn't leave any scent lingering on my face afterwards. The color starts off as a translucent natural brown-ish color and then turns white-ish as the soap lathers.
I've only been using this product for 3-4 days, but I've already seen improvement in my skin. It's smoother, I no longer have as many blackheads, it seems to help improve the absorbtion of other skin products I apply afterwards (tea tree oil and Pangea's balancing oil), my make-up applies better, and my skin just looks more even. I have no active zits at the moment (still a few scars that are almost done healing up), which is I think a combination of the products I use, but the scrub is definately an important part of that. I haven't been completely zit free in ages, so that's saying something :) .
And most importantly, this product is free of parabens/sulfates/ and all that other icky stuff, and Alba Botanica doesn't test on animals.
The price is not bad for the amount of product you get and the higher company ethics- Burt's Bee's acne scrub is about the same price for half the amount (and it's not as effective as this one).
I no longer feel the need to continually test out other scrubs when I see them in the store because this one is perfect :) !- there's nothing about this I would change other than the big "ACNE" graphic on the front lol, but that's not a big deal.

Finally found a facial scrub with small granules that actually does the job! I have oily, acne prone skin and this scrub has really helped to clean my pores. Nice, citrus smell too. You WILL notice a difference in your skin after the first use. My skins feels so smooth and supple.
I would have given this a 5 rating but the tube design is horrible for the consistency of this product. If you tilt the tube downward while flipping the cap open the scrub will pour out because it is on the thin side. This scrub would be better if it were in a pump or tube that had a smaller hole.

I'm shocked there aren't any raving reviews for this miracle product! I've had very oily and acne-prone skin since sixth grade, and I've tried pretty much everything. Some products did okay but never solved my problems completely. I got this at the organic grocery store, and just within a couple days, my skin was super soft and most of my blemishes are gone! It's almost like it speeds my skin's healing process as well. It's heaven sent.

I bought the spot treatment and the face/body scrub from Alba's new Acne Dote line at Whole Foods. The spot treatment did not have any effect on acne spots I applied it to. I know for sure that one of these two products caused my current breakout, which is one of the worst I've had this year. I usually do not break out, as I am one Retin-A, so when a product breaks me out I know it must be really pore-clogging if it manages to clog my pores even while I use Retin-A.The spot treatment may be the culprit, as I did apply it all over my face one night, and almost immediately after I had all these small bumps on my forehead like clogged pores. The scrub was very pleasant-smelling and pleasant to use-- however there is clearly an error in the way it is labeled. It says 'oil-free' on the front of the packaging, like all the Acne Dote products, but the ingredients list a bunch of oils, such as orange oil, peppermint, borage, etc. I was very confused. I had read the ingredients online before buying it and did not see any oils listed. I emailed Alba about this apparent oversight in the labeling but never received a response. On the website, it says the product is oil-free and no oils are listed in the ingredients, but on the packaging it says oil-free while numerous oils ARE listed in the ingredients. I like to know what's in my products!! Very disappointing. Wish I could return these but I'm not sure about Whole Foods' return policy on skin care.I will not be buying any products from this line until Alba states their ingredients more clearly. How am I supposed to know if any of the products' ingredients are accurate now? Oh well, I guess the scrub will make a nice foot scrub.
