Hooray! The color lasts well before ultimately fading -- not flipping -- to a rosy berrylike hue. Hooray! This lipstick doesn't dry out my lips or the area surrounding my lips. Hooray! I love it when a blind buy leads to something awesome. Didn't recognize it at the time, but this has quickly become a goto. Will repurchase.

I usually go for nude lipsticks, but every once in awhile I do love a dramatic dark lip color. I ran across an ad in Allure Magazine with an Asian female wearing this color with the same skin tone as mine. I had to run out and get it! Every time I wear this color, I get compliments. I usually wear this on a night out. I am an NC25

Media is a gorgeous bold wine shade. It's my favourite finish Satin, so the application is beautiful and semi-matte. By looking at this shade in the tube it appears to be much darker than what it actually is when applied to the lips, it actually looks a lot more like what I expected Rebel to be, which is good, because I was going to buy Rebel in the first place but when I swatched it in the store it was definitely a pink compared to the lovely wine shade of Media. This lipstick is a must buy for people who are daring with their make-up, and I think it also makes your face look flawless! I love it!

Wow! I feel compelled to rate Media a five, even though it is VERY dark, and really not easily wearable.
In fact, if you're a devoted fan of "nude" lips, you can most likely just ignore this one.
However, if you, like I, love bold lips, with a capital B, you should definitely give Media a try.
I have dark brown, almost-black hair, fair NW15 skin, large green eyes, and Media suits me beautifully.Media is deep, deep, rich burgundy/maroon/wine(looks black in the tube!), in the Satin formula, so it's moist and opaque, but not at all drying. It's an almost *exact* match for MAC Burgundy pencil, and liner is probably a must with this formula.
Media wears very well, for a conventional creamy lipstick.I top mine with a drop or two of Pleasure Principle Dazzleglass, which looks stunning, but has a slight adverse effect on the wear of the lipstick.
Media is *definitely* one of the darkest lipsticks I've ever owned; it's a very close second in that category to Night Violet Mattene.
If you like and can carry off deep dark wine lips, Media is probably for you!
SAD NOTE: As of March 2012, all Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Estee Lauder, MAC, and Prescriptives items are “will not repurchase” for me, no matter how much I like them. This regrettable situation is the result of the Estee Lauder company’s decision to abandon its ban on animal tests, and contract for such tests in China. As an animal lover/respecter, I will no longer do business with this company’s brands, no matter how otherwise appealing their products are to me.

one of my HG lipsticks. i love this for when i'm in the mood to wear something BOLD. if there were any colour to describe what a vampire should wear, it's this one. a very deep berry whine colour. the only thing i don't like is that it can be quite drying, especially if you don't wear a good chapstick under! and can accentuate flakes. as long as you keep your lips moisturized this is amazing though. and the best part is that when it fades, it leaves a nice stained colour!

Purchased this recently & it is truly a sexy color... dark & vampy... i am indian with medium skintone & this suits me perfectly. It also lasts a very very long time with very little need to touch up. it is a bit drying so i suggest you use a lip balm underneath which i do with most MAC lipsticks. i will most def re-purchase when this runs out - and at the rate i am using it - that maybe sooner than later :-)

Just purchased this at MAC today because I wanted to find a cheaper alternative to NARS Volga, and this was the closest one I found. I really love this color, I feel like a plum lip is more unique and suits me better than red. I don't have much experience with MAC lipsticks (I only own another Lustre lipstick) so I was very surprised at the color payoff for this one. It's not drying nor does it show flakes on my lips. I feel like it's a little tricky to apply neatly because the color is so intense, but I love that I can have a stained berry look or a full on plummy wine-red lip. Definitely would purchase again, and looking to expand my MAC l/s collection :)

Gives me exactly that dark, vampy look I usually go for!! I'm an NC40 & extremely hesitant when it comes to purchasing l/s. But this one was a must! No regrets, absolutely love it. Think deep berry wine....beautiful! continued >>
This is one of my HG lipsticks; I wear lipsticks on spontaneous occasions (whenever I randomly feel like it) however, it's not really an every day thing for me so I'm still building up my collection. I'm super picky when it comes to what colors go on me (NC40 for reference) & this lipstick is one of THE BEST! It gives me that dark, sultry look that I go for on certain occasions & the coverage is flawlesssss. Love love loveeeeeeee it continued >>
