Love, love, love this facial scrub.

Minty fresh scent without being irritating - pore-refining mask - AND a finely textured scrub for your face - I was initially wary of a product that was promising so many things, but I decided to try it and see, since I love their other products.

I swear, my pores looked minimized and almost non-existent immediately after the first use - my extremely sensitive skin did fine with the scrub, too - and my facial skin texture and clarity was vastly improved. With every use, it gets better, too. I've started noticing much less oiliness, too, which is nothing short of amazing.

I am very impressed. I got this for $12.99 at Target, which is higher than, say, St. Ives' Apricot Scrub, but this one is light years ahead of St. Ives, for sure.

Highly recommended.

Check out my notepad to read a more detailed explanation of my facial skin type!

** Based on a one-use review. I never do this, but based on this initial use, I have already decided what my opinion of this product is. **

What it Claims:
"Helps minimize the look of large pores."

Claims - True or False?
1) Minimizes large pores: Undetermined. My large pores are simply something genetic that never changes regardless of products I use. My forehead looked nice, but I do not really have large pores on my t-zone.

Packaging:
The same, cutesy semi-childish packaging that their other products have. One thing that I really don't like is how there is SO much "show" but not a lot of information. For instance, is this good for all skin types or specific types? It tells you how to use it, it has a hygienic design, and it's overall an average packaging.

Smell:
The smell isn't the best, but it's not terrible. Slightly minty, but reminds me of those chalk Tums. While the smell is faint in the tube, it's quite strong once it's on your face - which was not something I really enjoyed all that much.

Consistency:
The consistency reminds me of that of the new Biore SkinPreservation scrub (see my review on my page). The granules are really not visible, yet you can feel a grit when rubbed in your hands. With this product, it has a slight clay consistency, which I guess is why you can use it as a 3 minute mask. Semi thick, so it easily stays on your face without dripping.

Ease of Use:
It's a scrub. Not hard to use. Just rub it in. However, it says to use on your t-zone only. So it can become a hassle to remember to not spread it over your ENTIRE face, which is what I did. Washes off almost instantly, unlike many other products. Which makes it great when you are quickly doing your routine to get out of the house or go to bed.

Bang for your Buck:
At my local Shopper's Drug Mart, I paid about $13.00 for this. At 115mL (did they reformulate/repackage? I believe it normally was 125mL), I believe that this is a decent price. I can easily see this being used in within 3 months of twice weekly use.

Final Consensus:
Great consistency, as I do like finely milled scrubs. However, this scrub irritated my skin. When I used it, the mint was overpowering both in scent and in tingling. On my skin, mint tends to be irritating. When I went in for a more thorough nose scrub, it literally burned my skin. After washing it all off, I could see that my face was matte and clean of the day's products (too-greasy sunscreen mostly), and my cheeks were flaking. While it would be a nice addition in the summer for the t-zone, it simply is too drying for my acne-prone, combo/oily dehydrated skin. If it were to not contain the mint, it possibly could have worked. Because of the way it is currently formulated, I can easily see this scrub breaking me out while overdrying my skin. Harsh products generally make my acne (and most acne for everyone) issues much worse. I did notice that a small whitehead came to the surface after washing off. It may have made my skin smooth once I moisturized, but it's not worth the irritation and possible break outs.
Will next be trying the Boots Botanics Purifying Face Scrub, and hopefully it will work better!

It's amazing! The packaging, like all s&g products was eyecatching, the name humorous! The application was easy not being too thick or too runny, and the tiny beads felt lovely while I applied it. The smell was very nice too. During and after it left an enjoyable tingly feeling. After the first use my skin was soo soft! And my pores were smaller! The first use, oh my, imagine what my skin would look like after! Amazing!!!!!!!! I'm definately buying this product again, 5/5 continued >>

After a long time user of St. Ives scrub, I decided to give this a try. I will NEVER go back!!!! This stuff is amazing! My skins' pores truly look smaller and my face has never looked better. The refreshing tingly feeling is also something that I look forward to everyday. HG!

Wow...I must have got a bum tube. There was not one scubbie in mine. No pumice or granules of any kind. zippo. the tube I got was like a very smooth, creamy, silky, minty clay mask. So thats what I used it for and it worked pretty well. Very tingly but not irritating, and it did help to loosen clogs, soak up excess oil for the rest of the day, and made my skin soft. But I didn't love it so much that I would buy it again.

I've read a bunch of reviews on this product before I made the purchase. It's 12.99CAD at Shoppers Drug Mart, which is not bad for a scrub and it actually works. I apply it when I'm in the shower everyday and I rinse it off right away. It has fine grains and the smell isn't bad. After it's rinsed off, my face feels "minty fresh" and tingles a bit but I love it because my face feels smooth right after. I have been using it everyday for the past two weeks and my pores have become visibly smaller. I got my first compliment (about my skin) in a while! I have oily skin with a few zits clearing up. I would definitely purchase this again and have recommended it to other friends. I hope it continues to work its charm.

I've repurchased this scrub/mask twice - it's terrific. It's replaced my Bliss Steep Clean, Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser and a legion of other products for cleaning out the blackheads on my nose and random whiteheads.

This is a blue paste-like product which is listed as a scrub and mask, but you don't have to let it dry - that's my favorite thing about it. It's mildly abrasive, very fine particles. You can apply it to your face at the sink or in the shower and either leave it on for several minutes to draw the gunk out of your pores or polish off right away. I follow it up with any random cleanser.

Leaves the surface of the skin nice and smooth, and the fruit acids help to even skin tone. All-around rave.
