I finally decided to splurge and try this out. I applied it with the st. Tropez mitt- it was fairly easy to apply and blend and dried pretty quickly. It didn't smell too bad either. When I washed it off in the morning I had a natural looking tan- not quite as dark as I'd hoped but still nice. It lasted quite a while and faded evenly. The only thing is that you really need to exfoliate with this or it will stick to any dry spots and is very hard to remove!
I decided to give in and try the st tropez mousse after a few bad experiences with cheaper tanners that left my legs orange and streaky and so obviously fake. The first time I tried it, I did look a bit streaky but I'm pretty sure that's because I didn't exfoliate very well before and my tanning mitt was kinda falling apart :') the next time I tried it I made sure to exfoliate, moisturize any dry patches like my knees and then apply it quickly so it didn't have time to dry all patchy. And the colour the next day was gorgeous! And nobody knew it was fake either :) the only thing is now after I've been using it for a while, the colour isn't really dark enough for me. It was prefect for spring when I wanted to be lightly bronzed but now it's summer, and due to my medium skin tone, I want to be darker. So I have to apply a lot to get a deep colour. I don't really mind doing this but I've found that it can start to look unnatural and a bit orangey if you put on too much, even though it states on the website that it can't go orange due to its olive undertones. Overall though, I've still given it 5 lippies because its such a life saver if you need a bit of colour when there's not enough sun to tan. Maybe if you're quite dark or olive toned though, this wouldn't be dark enough for you.
I tried it last night but I didn't read the directions and didn't watch tutorials, so I ended up applying too little or not applying at all to some spots. Instead of doing circular motions, I just wiped it on like I've done other tanners. The blotches weren't that noticeable and the overall tan was gorgeous, so next time I'm going to apply it the right way and be extra careful. Loved it!
This is the first time I've ever written a review for a product but it's so rare to find a self tanner that doesn't turn you into an oompah loompah color or streak everywhere! I used to go tanning indoors until I finally woke up and realized how horrible my skin would eventually look if I kept it up but still didn't want to be pasty-white in the summertime, so I picked up a bottle of St. Tropez at Sephora and so far, I love it! Definitely try it -- it gave me a subtle tan after using it one time, and looked even better the second day :) Will definitely repurchase if I ever run out but a little goes a long way!
I wanted to love this. I really did. The product did produce a pretty tan but it is super messy!!! Messier than any other tanner I have used. Also, the mousse dries too quickly when applying. I would be willing to try it again but I can't see paying 40 dollars again.
I haven't had much experience with self-tanning, but this + the mitt was extremely easy . I did get someone to do my upper back, but otherwise spreading it on was fast, and the color guide is quite good. I think I go a little sparing with this compared to other users, but I'm starting off at about NC 15-20, so I'd rather be careful.
Seems to last about 4-5 days, and it gives me a warmth without streaks or anything like orange. Haven't been using it on the face, since I prefer to go with a gradual tanner there. Overall, I think I'll be keeping up with this all summer, and maybe longer.
Beautiful color, gives a nice color to my really white skin. But I can't quite get my arms blended enough to prevent all streaks. Best self tanner I've ever found.
I finally broke down and purchased this after hearing rave reviews and practically every beauty guru on youtube go on and on about how wonderful this is, and I must admit I am disappointed. For $40 I expected more..in all honesty I prefer the jergins mouse that I normally buy and it's only 8 bucks. Even using the mitt it dries in weird little patches regardless of how much I blend. The color payoff is ridiculous, and I'm about as pale as it gets. All in all..this stuff sucks.
I have pale asian skin that doesn't really tan (burns first then tans a little) and this gives me a natural looking tan. I absolutely love this!!!!
