I used to love this mascara. I would always have a tube of Voluminous in my bag. But over the years, I've noticed that maybe they changed their formula or something, because it started to flake......ALOT. I stopped using it and haven't gone back for about two years. Also, it seemed like it dried up very easily and I was buying one a new tube very month. The brush would have globs of mascara on it and would clump on my lashes. Some people love, and others don't like it. I used to be a lover, but I moved on.
UPDATE: I'm upping this to a 5. I spent so much money testing h/e and d/s mascaras only to end up going back to the ones I use and loving them even more. I have taken almost an entire year break from Voluminous and after recently picking it up I dont think I'll ever bother with others. I love the formula, the brush and the fact that it doesnt irritate my eyes. It makes my lashes look very dramatic and dark. I had some problem with clumping but figured the trick is to let it dry while I work on my other eye and come back to it with a 2nd layer if I wish. I also figured that I prefer the curved brush from the straight one. It combs my lashes so much better.
The result with this was wispy, sexy, long, full dark lashes. HG.
This is my HG mascara. I've tried others, but I always come back to this.
I like this. I'm not wowed by it, but it's good. It gives me some length an definetly gives some thickness. The brush gets pretty clumpy though
My favorite drugstore mascara. This is a wet mascara. For reference, I have super straight lashes that grow downward.
I LOVE THIS MASCARA!!! i've tried all sorts of mascara from dior (so so) mac zoom lash (eew) just to many a few.. but this one is so awesome i have realy long lashes to begin with already and when i put this one it makes even longer and when i curl it, i can almost touch my eyebrows with my lashes.. i got carbon black and it is a lil messy to put on cause it is soo creamy and it gets all over my eye lid.. but wtv it can be cleaned as long as i have my lashes all done up! lol
I was expecting it to be better from the reviews, but for $6 it's pretty good. It give some volume but it doesn't lengthen all that much. The color (Blackest Black) is nice, and the formula is not to runny or thick. A mediocre mascara....this gives more of a natural look and I like big dramatic eyelashes.
My one big complaint would be that you have to wipe almost all of the mascara off of the brush before you apply or your lashes will clump together. But since mascara dries up so fast I guess it's not really that big of a deal since I do try to use it up in a couple months.
EDIT: this is much better now that's dried out a little bit. I get length and volume, no clumps. love it.
I bought the carbon colour of this mascara, but I did not find it plumped up my lashes at all... For the price, I didn't expect it to do miracles... the colour was great but I will not buy again.
Love, love this mascara. I have tried more expensive mascaras (Diorshow, Chanel), but this mascara is definitely tried and true for me. It is super cheap, does not clump and gives my lashes volume and length. It is important to replace it after 2 or 3 months because at this point I have noticed that it does start to dry up a bit, but it's so cheap that replacing it isn't a problem.
I was very dissappointed with this mascara. I read in one of my magazines that alot of makeup artists use this mascara because of the fine bristles on the brush prevent clumping. so i bought it and tried it on. It not only clumped pretty bad but it made my lashes just look brittle and ugly. so im definitely not buying this one again, maybe i should stick to covergirl volume exact, now thats a clump free mascara ;)
