I decided to treat myself & bought this in Painterly. I have to say, it works great as an eyeshadow base & prevents creasing, shadows last longer. I even use it as a base for concealing sunspots. It is kind of dry, but I think it is meant to be patted on. Yeah, it was worth it. continued >>

Adore these. Painterly is perfect for a natural base and works wonderfully to make my eyeshadow stay put. Highly recommend!

I love this. I love MAC stuff but never would have paid attention to paint pots until a MAC SA recommended it as an eyelid primer.
It applies beautifully. I usually pat it over my eyelid up to the brow bone with my fingertip, then blend it slightly. It stays put all day (my makeup is usually on for about 12 hours!) and doesn't crease. helps my eyeshadows blend and set, and is fantastic to wear by itself with a slick of liner and mascara.
It is a touch expensive but despite using it everyday for a month I've barely made a mark in it, so I know it'll last ages! Also it's a perfect match for my nc15 skin
I would definitely re-purchase, it's become a staple in my daily routine

This is an amazing product that definitely deserves all the hype! Spur of the moment I picked this up, though I had never paid much attention to Paint Pots.. It never occurred to me how much of a difference this would make to not only the staying power, but the application as well!
It literally lasts at least 7 hours without creasing, and helps even out my eyelid colour so the shadows true pigmentation can really show. It has a creamy texture while it's "drying" after you have blended it in. I like to apply it all the was up to my brow bone where my MAC pigment in Vanilla goes! This colour suites my NW15 skin perfectly! I would repurchase in a heart beat
Great primer. Eyeshadow always creases on me within an hour but I can wear eyeshadow all day without creasing if I put this on first.
I haven't had such great experiences with other paint pots (drying out, not blending well) but they seem to have the formula perfect on this one. Have it about a year and use it nearly every day. Am only coming to the end of it now and it hasn't dried out.
Great product. If you're fair skinned and your eyeshadow creases, you need this !
I'd tried Paint Pots in the past and not been thrilled with them, but swapped for this one and am delighted that I did. The shade is perfect--just slightly (maybe a half-shade) darker than my skin color. It is creamy and applies easily with a finger and, as long as you don't overdo, it won't crease and lasts all day. Most importantly for me, it covers up my ugly, red, veiny lids--a miracle. I love this for light makeup days--I just add a thin line of dark brown Smashbox creme liner and mascara to curled lashes, and I look polished, yet natural. The same look works great with a red lip, too. Big kudos to MAC for this gem!
My first Paint Pot at MAC. Using this really made my eyeshadow colors pop. It goes on smoothly and while it doesn't exactly match my skin tone, I think it makes a very good highlight color. I think it's a great base and I would definitely repurchase this again, but in a color that better fits my skin tone, Soft Ochre.
I had a make over last year and the MUA used this on me as an eye shadow base and instantly I was hooked. This is super close to my skin tome so I use it alone when I donT do shadows and then layer it up most days. I have used it under dirt cheap and expensive shadows and the result is always the same... Creaseless, perfectly smooth and lasts all day I mean 14+ hours and still perfect. I wish itr was as $$$ but I have had the same one for 10 months and it still has a bit left in it so if i do the math that is pretty good I guess. Always remember to putr the cap on though cuz if not it will dry out and crack
I don't even have my own pot of this. I had been looking into getting a Paint Pot but I don't wear eyeshadow every day so I was hesitant to spend $17 on an eyeshadow base. My mom came home one day with this Paint Pot and I decided to try it out when I wore eyeshadow. My eyeshadow lasted all day and it didn't crease, problems I had with my eyeshadow before using a Paint Pot. I am now constantly stealing my mom's Paint Pot and I wear eyeshadow much more often because it actually stays on now! It's easy to blend over and forms a nice matte/not-quite-tacky surface that holds onto eyeshadow really well. I also prefer this color because it matches my cool skintone and has no shimmer.
This is definitely a holy grail product for me. All the hype and rave reviews Painterly receives are well deserved. I don't know how I wore eyeshadows before I discovered this, but now I couldn't live without it in my makeup stash. My eyeshadows stay put all day and never EVER crease. I sometimes also wear it alone if I want a more natural look, and it still doesn't budge, and brightens my eyelids. The Paint Pot formula is perfect, and Painterly in particular is wonderful for my skin tone, and I'm pretty pale. I like UDPP too, but Paint Pots are a little bit tackier which is better for making sure eyeshadows stick!
