It makes my skin extremely soft. I haven't had a breakout since I've used this (2 months), but then again I am not acne prone. I use this after I've taken off my makeup (just sunscreen, concealer, and eyeliner) with other makeup removers.
I don't like how it doesn't lather up. I have to get a lot of product in my hands with sufficient amount of water to get it foam up. And the fragrance is too strong.
Just a generally nice cleanser for oily skin! All the cons are dismissible. I recommend it and will purchase again.
Hold up. You're telling me that THIS is all my skin wants? That I paid $70+ for cleansers
that are not as good as this? Well, I feel like a fool. My skin is quite complicated. It's congested but also dry and sensitive. Most cleansers are either too drying or innefective, but this is just perfect. It really cleans my skin and gets all the nastiness out of my pores, but at the same time it does not dry out my skin or irritate. In fact, it's gentle enough to remove my eye makeup with. It leaves my skin fresh, soft, clean, and glowy, all for under $10. It also smells great. Now what's not to love? It's a classic for a very good reason. I was actually skeptical about buying this at first because I hated the gentle skin cleanser. Anyway, sometimes simplicity is key. We have all these cleansers that promise to do this and that, but this one is simple, effective, and just really delivers. No bells and whistles here, just a classic, quality, product.
UPDATE: First off, this actually too gentle to remove my makeup, and whenever I use more than a light coat of mascara I end up with a smudgy mess under my eyes that it won't remove no matter how hard I scrub. Second, this is just way too drying with regular use (and by regular, I mean once a day). My skin went from soft and clean to rough and dry, but I won't deduct too many points because that is typical for my stupid, confused skin. On a good point, I never once broke out. But alas, the search for cleanser that will effectively clean my skin and remove makeup, all without turning my skin into the sahara desert, continues.
So I've bought this at walmart for $6.88 and it's a alright price because I overall like this cleanser. I tend to pick on my skin so the t-zone on my face became oily with few red blemishes. I havnt exfoliate my skin too like I usually do. Using this cleanser helped the redness dissappear instantly and my face is soft and feels clean. I'm glad I bought this.
Such crap. Read the ingredient list. Way to many chemicals. SLS, masking fragrance and Menthylparaben, some things that are not good for your skin. My dermatologist recommended this for my breakout/oily skin. It clogged my pores oily and would give me red skin. Not to mention that the fragrance is horrible. This is a major no no. Do yourself a favor and not use any petrochemicals on your skin.
I bought this because I have very oily, acne-prone but very sensitive skin and Cetaphil markets its products as being gentle and non-irritating. I had tried their regular liquid cleanser for dry, sensitive skin but it never cleaned well enough and left what felt like a heavy film. I was sorely disappointed w/ this product. The pump pkg is convenient and the smell is subtle but very nice. However, my skin felt really stripped after use, and became more and more irritated, tight, and blotchy after each use. Either my skin was allergic to something in it or it was stripping my skin barrier. Either way, the result was uncomfortable, unatttractive redness, blotchiness and those surface wrinkles you get from having very dry, tight skin, with increased oiliness within a few hours. Being acne and acne-mark prone, blotchiness and irritation is a huge problem for me. It felt like it stripped my skin so much that my skin revved up oil production a few hours after use to try to compensate. I gave up after about 2 weeks and will not re-purchase.
This Product is the worst thing I have put on my face. It actually made my pimples worse after one use. After reading the ingredients I found that it contains mainly all the ingredients a facewash for people with oily skin that are more likely to break out shouldnt. it contains so many different pore clogging, irritating acne aggrivating ingredients I was shocked.
This product is amazing!!! I love it! It makes mt skin feel soft and doesn't give me that tight feeling. It is my everyday facial cleanser and don't think I will switch to anything else anytime soon.
I bought this cleanser a few days ago because I've heard many positive reviews on Cetaphil's cleansers. So the first time I used this my skin felt very fresh and glowy. The second time I used it..My skin was from fresh and glowy- to red, itchy and irritated. I have Oily skin, so this was a shock to me. It was almost like I had a sunburn! My friends thought I did too.
Isn't too expensive.
Come's in a nice pump package.
Doesn't foam up.
Burns/Feels like a sunburn.
Harsh- not gentle at all!
Doesn't clean as well as my other cleansers.
I think I'm going back to my Neutrogena Cleansing Facial Bar. Maybe I'll give this away to my brother or a friend, because I don't want it.
Asian, sensitive, ruddy skin, prone to blackheads and acne when stressed or in new/dry climates. I actually really like this cleanser as a basic cleanser and always revert to it when something new disappoints me. It's cheap, readily available (in the States) and takes my makeup off well. It doesn't irritate my skin, doesn't strip it and seems to make my pores clearer. I try to just massage it in for at least 15 seconds so that dirt and makeup can break up and work its way out of the pores a bit (I have sooo many blackheads!). I still go over any face wash with a gentle toner (currently SKII) but this stuff doesn't make me feel tight or dry and removes my makeup well enough at the same time.
Decent price, easy to use packaging, but really that's were the pros stop. It didn't get my makeup off well, and yet somehow managed to make my oily/combination skin feel sahara desert esque. It didn't foam well, and the consistency seemed to slip out of my hands, making me feel like I was wasting product. Basically, it made my skin feel dry, dirty, and dull. Will not buy again.
