I decided to use this product based on the much touted reviews here on MU. My hair is shoulder length, dark brown which I color it dark brown to chase away those first grays...and also I flat iron it almost every day. So my hair goes through a lot. I have been noticing that my hair was looking lackluster and I have been shedding a lot. I used this, following the directions that are here on MU Hair Board. I feel that my hair looks and feels much better after using it one time, but I have been told that you have to keep using it to see more results. So I will keep using it. For information, I used Suave Clarifying poo (the Rusk Knockoff), Nexxus Therappe poo and then Keratase Masquintense for the deep conditioner. I would repurchase again.
Hello,
I used it for the first time yesterday, and what can I say, it is AMAZING! I have the finest hair in the world, it is not terribly damaged, but it is dry, thin and flat. After using Emergence according to instructions, my hair, for the first time in its life, actually has WEIGHT and body! I felt like in those Timotei commercials, under the waterfall, when the model swhishes her beautiful mane around, well, I felt I could do this too! And it was shiny, healthy looking, beautiful, I can't wait to use it again!
Because I don't have a heated shower cap, after I applied Emergence, I wrapped my hair in aluminium (kitchen) foil and heated it through with my hair dryer on high setting until warm all the way through. Then I put a shower cap on top of the foil, to keep it all nicely in place and to help keep the heat in. The foil underneath acted as a heat conductor, and kept the hair warm for a long time (I kept it on my head for 30 minutes). This is how I do it, and the foil also prevents the product from drying out on the hair, it was still nice and moist when I took the foil of.
Anyway, this stuff is mega expensive (15 pounds in UK, which is around 27 Us dollars), BUT, it is a miracle stuff for me, and I will be happily buying it over and over again. Top marks for this one!

Ok, I only used it once, and my hair is not that damaged. I have it highlighted every few months though and blowdry it daily, so I figured this couldn't hurt. I have to say, my hair looked beautiful the day of the treatment. I just put it on my hair for 10 minutes after shampooing, and then rinsed it and followed with my Redken Blonde Glam shampoo and conditioner. My hair looked very shiny and the ends looked healthy and not dry at all. I am now curious to try it with heat, like others mentioned. The only thing is I don't really know what that means: how do you apply heat at home? Do you guys just wrap it in a towel that's been soaked in a hot water or a microwave? Forgive me but I'm clueless; I've never done any hair treatments before.

This hair treatment is the best that i have ever used, it gave my hair the life it was missing, i used to have really dry crazy unruly hair, but thanks to this stuff i am able to spend less time straightening it. all i do is pas the iron a couple of times and im out the door. it is amazing what this stuff can do. btw i have been using this for a month and the resulsts are fabulous.
"Emergencee Strengthening Polymeric Reconstructor ($14 for 3.3 ounces) cannot reconstruct hair one bit. This contains a form of sulfonic acid as its main ingredient (it is listed before water), so the only emergency here is how dry this can make hair, not to mention the fact that this can potentially strip hair color."

I was about to buy this b/c of the great reviews, but then read Paula Begoun's review and thought I should share. I know that not everyone always agrees with her, but thought I would pass the info. along anyway.
I'm so happy I decided to read the Makeup Alley reviews a few days ago on this product. I had never heard of it before. My hair is blonde, fine, and down to my hips. I dye it every 5-6 weeks using Garnier Nutrisse which has never damaged my hair. I had purchased the new John Frieda color glaze in the lightest blonde shade to brighten up the brassiness between dying it, and it completely fried my hair!
It was a nightmare, my hair looked like it was breaking off 3 inches from the top and after using the glaze 4 times, my hair has turned white-blonde and very, very dry. I was scared to death that I would have to get all my hair cut off because it was feeling like straw, and looked very fried and unkempt.
I've been using the Emergencee for 3 days now and there is vast improvement. I'm going to continue it every day for a week and then use it once a week. Here is what I've done:
Shampoo: Garnier Fructis Long & Strong Anti-dandruff 1st, then Infusium for color treated hair.
Emergencee: Leave on hair for 10 min. in the shower.
Conditioner: Garnier Fructis Long and Strong Conditioner and the Garnier Nutrisse Avacado conditioner that comes in the hair dye box.
When I blow dry it I don't dry it completely now and after I brush it I dab a little bit of olive oil on my hands and put that on my hair as well. I really feel that the Emergencee saved my hair. I've been checking every strand that comes out now and they all have roots on them so I'm assuming that means my hair is not breaking. Before I used this product I was absolutely sick thinking that my hair was going to break off all on the top. continued >>

I bought this a week ago and wasnt aware i had to buy 3 extra nexxus products in conjunction with this treatment, however i wasnt about to waste 40 bucks on more hair junk especially when i spend 84 dollars every 3 months on some expensive German shampoo. Well the most luckiest thing happened to when i was going to start the treatment, in my search for a brush to detangle the goop, i was looking through my moms bag of hair accessories, when i found HUMECTRESS, what a dam* coincidence. Exactly what was instructed in the directions, a deep conditioner, and my mom never buys salon brands hair care.
anyway enough about me, this stuff (emergencee) was so easy to apply the whole wash your hair like 100 (3 times) times routine is so worth it in my opinion, since it leaves your hair like a Greek goddess. My hair isnt Greek goddess matereal yet since i have only used it once, but it made my fine straight/wavy dry shedding hair so much thicker and bouncier, it also gave me some volume. I cannot wait till my next treatment. 14-16 dollars isnt very expensive compared to those totally useless well marketed sephora products. Even if this was twice the amount i wouldnt hesitate on buying this. my only dilema is: how much precisely do you need to apply to your hair? it doesnt really say on the directions. Thank you MUA for this recommendation.

I owe MUA big-time for directing me to this stuff. Recently, my hair was so badly fried from a bad highlighting job that it started breaking and falling out. I used silicones and my CHI iron to hide the damage, and that just made it 10 times worse. I've dyed my hair for 13 years, and it never had been that dry or dull before! It felt horrible, like straw. I tried EVERYTHING, and I am talking EVERYTHING, to try to help it - Aphogee treatments, L'Oreal Mega Moisture, Kerastase Masquintense, Redken All Soft, Wella In-Depth, Aussie 3 Minute Miracle, Regis Olive Oil conditioner, hot oil treatments, Beyond Belief Get n' Creamed, Frederic Fekkai Technician shampoo, Frederic Fekkai Glossing Cream with Olive Oil - NOTHING worked. I really thought my hair was a hopeless cause.
Then I tried this stuff based on board recommendations, and it SAVED MY HAIR! It goes on sticky like Aphogee does. You put it in your hair for 10 minutes, I added heat to help it penetrate more. I followed it up by shampooing with Aphogee Shampoo for Damaged Hair and then deep conditioning with L'Oreal Mega Moisture. I woke up the next morning with beautiful hair that felt like silk instead of straw! No more breaking or falling out! My hair even has more body than before. It hasn't yet regained all of it's shine back, but I think that will come with time and repeated treatments. This stuff is pricey ($14 for approximately 2 treatments), but it is money well worth it if your hair needs this much help. continued >>

Love this product. I picked it up after reading the reviews on MUA and has it transformed by hair. I chemically relax my hair and had horrible split ends. I used Emergencee once and my hair is rejuvenated. No more split ends, i run my fingers thru my hair and it is so smooth and full and Wow. Thank you MUA for helping my Hair!. The price is $13.99 for a small bottle which is for my hair just usable 2 times which is a month's worth. It is well worth the price for what it does.
Uhm, wow! Last night I bought a bottle of this and this morning's results are pretty darn good!
I had used Emergencee years ago, and at that time it smelled awful, it had the consistency of slimy, runny eggs. It felt gross and was hard to get out of my hair.
I guess they reformulated it, because it foams up now and smells decent.
I usually use Aphogee, but this is a good in-shower alternative.
