Why does this have such a low rating? One of the best moisturizers out there. The moisturizer itself is quite light, therefore not the bst option for very dry skin. However this is great for everyday use. Would definitely purchase is again.

This is the worst moisturizer sold in department stores under a high quality brand like Clinique you can buy. If you own this THROW IT OUT!!! This is the original formula Clinique started with upon it's incarnation in 1966. You can buy the latest bottle of Vaseline or Nivea for body and it would have better ingredients than this. This product is out of date it shoild be discontinued! Take some litmus paper (ask a pharmacist for it) which measures the PH of a product and this will test overboard Alkaline (not good for your skin as your skin is naturally acidic between 4.5 and 5.5 PH. Bacteria also grows in an Alkaline environment (DDMF.) I know they have a newer gel formula that's better than this original as the gel at least has Hyaluronic Acid in it. The same goes for their SOAPS. They are terribly Alkaline. Your skin has to work hard to return itself to it's natural Acidic state. You'd be 10 times better using Dove Soap on your skin as it's not near as barbaric a formula and has ingredients in it to not strip the skin. Plus Dove rinses clean unlike the 2 Clinique Soaps. This Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion (DDMF) has nothing dramatic nor different in it and it hasn't since 1966. A total waste of money on an acient formula. The cliche "if it's not broke don't fix it" does not apply here for something so intimate that you use it all over your face. Think about this, PLEASE!!!

This is the best moisturizer I've used. By itself though, I don't think it would work as good if I wasn't using the 3-step system and the 7 day scrub. This isn't good for dry areas, so make sure to exfoliate. I love that there is no smell, I hate fragrant moisturizers. If you have oily or acne prone skin this probably isn't the right one for you. You would probably need to use the gel version. I give it a four though because there is no spf and even though I love this moisturizer, I hate paying $24 for it.

I have periorbital and perioral dermatitis and am constantly searching for the ideal moisturiser. I've tried Dermalogica, Jurlique, Olay, Lancome, Shiseido, Decleor, Dr Hauschka but to no avail. I was at my local pharmacy and started talking to the pharmacist and he gave me a whole bunch of useful advice. He said to me that when it comes to moisturisers for eczematic skin types, stick with simple. No fancy 'bells and whistles'. So I thought I would give DDML a try. Boy am I relieved! This is one of the best moisturiser I have used for my eczema!

And a word of advice, make firm friends with your local pharmacist if you have any skin woes - their knowledge is priceless. Since becoming best friends with mine, I have much better skin and it's almost back to pre-periorbital days.

I think that many people are using this product that aren't supposed to and that's why it has a low rating. This product is NOT for acne-prone/oily skin - maybe that's why it's making some people break out. The dramatically different gel is for oily skin. However, I have normal (but sensitive) skin, and for me this is a great go-to, everyday lotion that's light enough to wear once or twice a day.

Like many others have noted, it's not good for dry/flaky areas of the skin (you would have to use a heavier moisturizer on those areas) But overall, it's a product that may be slightly overpriced but I say if it works, and it works well, why not spend the few extra bucks?

I'm surprised this product has such a low rate! I like it it's very moisturizing and it doesn't break me out, my skin feels soft in the morning when I apply at night. A little goes a long way and you get lots of product.

How is this moisturizer still so popular when based on ratings it clearly does not seem like a good product??? I used this in my teens and did not like it. Didn't seem to moisturize enough and no significant difference in my skin. My friend, on the other hand, swears by it, even using it on her lips. She loves loves this, but sadly, for me, even with my pretty flawless skin back in those days, this seemed to make it worse and not better.

I bought this product because it does wonders for my mothers skin. It ended up breaking me out! I didn't like the formula at all. I felt like it was just sitting on my face and it looked greasy as well. It also wasn't very moisturizing...

this product is so overrated and i really dislike it. ive disliked it since the early 90's. it is so thick, greasy & heavy and does not moisturize my skin at all. i have come back 3 times & each time same results. i put it on and i feel like im patting on crisco. it just sits there and my face feels just as dry. clogs my pores also. continued >>

I have oily/combo skin, it always had been very hard for me to find a good moisturiser that suited me, I tried several drug store products and the end result had always caused me to break out! When i decided to break into my piggy bank to buy some high end product, the Cinique counter had caught my eye, with the SA being very helpful by convincing me to buy a few of their products. I used this moisturiser for about 3 weeks, it had cleared parts of my acne-prone skin but after all i realised this product does not benefit my skin. although i must say it is non-greasy and sinks in nicely into my skin but i do sometimes feel like i haven't moisturised at all. I will not purchase this product again, and £27.50 is very pricey for something useless for my skin!
